So, the Maintenance Phase podcast just did a deep dive on Myers Briggs - highly recommend listening, it’s hilarious and goes into the history and how everything developed. My problem with personality tests is that they suffer from a recency bias - like did I make my last decision using my gut instinct or my head? It usually depends on what’s going on at the time. I feel like a periodic test that asks how you behaved in recent situations and kind of averaged those answers would get your personality better.
Robyn would interfere in the other wives talk with kody off camera. Telling them she speaks "kody" and could help. She also did this with their children too
I understand that enneagram isn't scientific and stuff, but I remember listening to that episode, and I think you used it incorrectly. First of all, it's *not* a personality typing system; in that regard it's vastly different than Myers Briggs. Enneagram is all about core motivation, and it takes a lot more than reading about it in 2 hours or taking a test to determine what your type is. Second of all, there isn't a primary number and then a secondary number; that only occurs if you're taking a simple test and they're trying to tell you that you might be this or that. The way it works is that you find your type (or number) and that number has 2 wings, which are the numbers adjacent to it. So if you're a 4, you're either 4w(wing)3 or 4w5. You can't be a 4 wing 9. Or if you're a 9, you're either 9w8 or 9w1. So instead of 9 types, there are actually 18 types. Then you can get into the instinctual subtypes (Self-Preservation, Sexual, and Social). It's really a complex system. In addition, I'm pretty sure you didn't take the official test, and while you can probably figure out your type with unofficial tests for other typing systems, I don't think you can with the enneagram. I'm personally not a huge fan of the enneagram because it focuses on the types' weaknesses as opposed to their strengths, and also, it's hard to type other people since it's not really a personality system. But I've learned a lot about it, and it's not as simplistic as it might sound.
You forgot to mention, Guidance Counselors Often uses Personnality tests, cause of course usefull in the getting to know yourself better process. I used to pass Myers-Briggs to clients in an employment services I use to work for, about 10 years ago. Gotta Say..clients used yo rely with the results ...and so did I! But at some point I studied a bit more and learned that the test wasnt so scientificaly reliable...so I stopped using it. But I Gotta Say, still like the personnality exploration it provided us, and the simplicity of it making it easier to clients to reflect on their life with examples. - From an INFP Girl...🤪💁
I would be really annoyed if I went to a therapy session and they first focused on any testing like that. I feel like getting to know them would be more important and that test could be done before or after the session to get it out of the way. I think its way more important to let people talk and interact than be buried in a test. that seemed really dumb. still can't wait for you to get caught up to season 19. and yeah its really good to know what tests are actually legit.
I'm always here for the Meyers-Briggs debunking. Of course it feels true; it is written to be so vague that anyone can identify with it. It's pseudo-science astrology BS, and it should not be used for any kind of decision making. (Btw, I have a phd in measurement, so I can also explain scientifically why they are trash)

I don't believe in astrology or any woowoo stuff. Myers-Briggs is fairly accurate though. The thing is, it's not exactly a personality test, it's more about explaining thought processes. It depends. My brother works for a telemedicine provider, and they specifically seek out those who are licensed in multiple states and countries.
