The Gilded Palace of Sin was a great album but it was crudely recorded. The songwriting of Chris and Gram on this album was incredible!

I am a fortunate guy to come across this performance. I have to say it has turned me to ashes it's so profound. But like all ashes of love they too will be swept out in the morning, but in good way. God Bless fellas and stellar heartfelt band.

Fantastic, better than the album version in my humble opinion, I think Gram would approve and that steel guitar is haunting !! Chris and Herb are legends. Thanks for posting

Why did Chris not sing lead vocals more when he was with the Byrds? His voice is terrific!!!

He said that he was very shy, and he was also very young at the time. The producer said he would ask Chris to sing, and he wouldn't do it. Later, with the Burritos Gram said he asked Chris to sing more of the lead vocals but he wouldn't do it. Of course Chris later became a much more relaxed performer. I admire his dead-on harmonies; always perfect.

Really benefits from this slightly slower, more country treatment
