      Yeah, no. It leaves them with extreme social deficits, an inability to take care of themselves even with small things, and usually a lack of intelligence and common sense because they don't have to work for anything.
      I had to demand, against his mother's wishes, that my nephew learn how to cook, clean, do his own laundry, pay bills, and, etc...before going to college. (Yes, I took time and taught him all of it myself.) Now, he refuses money from family and is very self-sufficient. I am so proud of him.

    • @HadassaMoon144
      @HadassaMoon144 2 года назад +18

      Exactly. Having the ability to buy STUFF and experices is great but those same kids usually don't do develop the empathy and depth to DO much of value with that ability. Yet people envy their money.

    • @whoahanant
      @whoahanant 2 года назад +27

      @@HadassaMoon144 I mean it's fair to envy the wealth they're just simply born with. The problems might be different but ultimately not the same as having little access to food, water, basic necessities, a home, a car, medicine ect.
      The only reason they have the problems they do, like lack of empathy, is because the parents failed to actually make their kids self sufficient. You can be rich and be self sufficient.

    This vulgar display of unearned wealth is depressing.
    Here in the UK, 2 million people have just been plunged into poverty, along with 15 million already there.
    There are more food banks than McDonald's, and people are refusing to take root vegetables from them, because they can't afford to boil them.
    That is in one of the world's richest nations.

    • @bloodphoenixab
      @bloodphoenixab 2 года назад +2

      @@raixbd That is true across the pond and pretty much in every poverty situation. Worse still is that the truly poor (not those people who have stocks, savings, and family to bail them out while claiming to be "just getting by") have no voice and the middle class is full of people that believe that poor people are lazy, don't work, are stupid, or deserve to suffer because of some twisted form of karma.

    • @kimmiewise1044
      @kimmiewise1044 2 года назад

      It’s not working hard, it’s working smart. A lot of these girls come from a family of investors who find cutting edge innovations and sponsor them then take a cut of the profits when they go commercial. For example, there is a chip in the IPhone that some guy in Sillicon Valley is still being paid big bucks for because he helped fund the development of that chip overseas in China. Some kid literally only made a program that connected PayPal to Amazon so you can use your PayPal to purchase items off Amazon and he is also still getting paid millions so Amazon can have the PayPal option on their own website.
      As lot of these kids have parents who work in investments or stocks and that’s how they can afford all of those within a generation.

      It's easy to feel really small and like the things you have are insignificant when compared to the true wealthy 1% but remember there are people who don't have clean running water, or hot water, or plumbing, it reaaaaaaally helps to keep things in perspective. What matters most is being healthy of mind and body. You could have everything and still not value it because it's disposable to you. Hard work is valuable. Time is money.

    I live in Sweden and this type of bragging would NOT fly here. It's considered tacky to boast about your money and the expensive stuff you got. So this trend would be a sure way to have people avoiding you.
    When I grew up there was a rich kid one class below mine and although he was an asshole it was unrelated to his family's wealth. His parents are actually very humble and down to earth. Hard workers who earned their money through a successful company and race horses. They gave their kids normal upbringings all things considered.

I envy how comfortable must be their live is in terms of financially and physical comfort. We don't even have a house and I'm struggling to buy even a cheap dress. We don't even have the money for my sister's college graduation so she might not attend it despite having excellent grades. I'm not blaming how rich they are, just that I envy them. Like I feel like some of those videos are just people with money themselves, and most of it is kids with parent's money. Maybe it is just me, but it just feels cringe, and I feel like if I did this to anyone I knew, it would feel like I was using them. What you guys said at the end about how it’s fun to watch rich people’s homes and feel jealous, that’s just your ignorant Korean perspective. It’s not fun at all as an American and I don’t feel any jealousy, just contempt and hatred. You guys really don’t realize the levels of income inequality in the United States. None of these disgusting children worked for anything they’re showing off and what you said about this being the result of hard work is a huge conclusion jump, it’s much more likely that it’s the result of heartless corruption and evil business practices and exploitation, one of them literally said they were part of the oil industry which exploits the planet every day! Sorry if I sound like a crazy socialist but any American who has not been born into extreme wealth can understand how cringe-inducing and awful all of these people are and the ones that aren’t teenagers should know better than to take these videos.

    As Die Prinzen said, "Ich habe keine reiche Freundin, und keinen reichen Freund."
    Truly, ich wär so gerne Millionär. Though I like to think I wouldn't be quite so tacky as most of those people.
    Those last few were hilarious, tho. But my best friend isn't Rich either.

    You're right, it'd be better to have a super rich friend. I don't think I have the energy to even pick out all that stuff to buy. It'd be easier to just be wowed by it all, and enjoy it whenever I want.

      At the same time people who are rich at that level go to private schools et cetera. So the person making the video saying my best friend is hardly poor because they go to the same schools

      @@LindaC616 Not necessarily. Some families make a lot of sacrifices to send their kids to a good private school. My friend was living in a two bedroom duplex in an affordable house if district and her mom still sent her to a private school because they were Catholic and because she wanted her daughter to have more opportunities than she had. I also had neighbors in the same socioeconomic situation who went to private school while my mom wanted me to go to public school so she could take advantage of the buses and not have to drive me to school and drive me home since she worked from mid-afternoon to 11 or 12 at night. Additionally the public schools were in walking distance to the house which made it easier for her when I needed to stay late because I could easily walk home by myself when I got older. So you never know if these kids go home to a duplex or two bedroom apartment or a nice house. Private school for anyone who can pay.

      @@kimmiewise1044 Yup, and they also offer occasional scholarships; someone I work with got his kid into a private Catholic school here on scholarship, and he doesn't even live locally. But her kind of school is like a boarding school. That is extremely rich people from all over the world. And mostly the kids who are going there are either related to someone who teaches there, or they are extremely rich. We have one of those in this town as well, and a friend of mine used to teach there

    Hey, I think you should read Status Anxiety by Alain de Botton. This book explains to us that despite meritocracy, the rich will stay rich and it's not about how hard we work.

    You guys are quickly becoming my favourite channel. Funny, sweet, kind, silly and a grandma! It's a complete win. I'd like to see a little more British content just because it's easier for me to relate but still no complaints from me ❤️
