I agree with so many comments by most ppl here that this particular season held the very dancers that to this day are in our hearts when we search eagerly for them. I was in love with this particular performance for obvious reasons that I get to see 2 of the best dancers of the season perform to such a brilliant piece of music. Miss you Danny and all the grace for Lacey in whatever she is pursuing
Came back to rewatch this gorgeous number to remember how great SYTYCD used to be. Amazing to see that Nigel and Mary were less than blown away, when you consider what passes as ready-for-professional on the embarrassingly dull mess showing in 2024. I miss this fun show. As a side note, it was sad watching the talented Danny, knowing he's no longer with us. Excellent talent, sweet guy.

I wondered about this too but when he dances solo you can see his incredible range and I thought he was fantastic in this dance with Lacey so I’m guessing they were missing his solo performances. They are brilliant together in this dance and Danny let Lacey shine.

I feel so bad for the dancers when they sweat and work like dogs to learn their dance, but then get put down by the judges, but that is the way the show goes. I loved this number. Very enjoyable. Rest in Peace to Danny. He left us too soon. Condolences to his family and friends.
Oh they were definitely jealous. During Vegas week, I remember one of them (Shane Sparks?) commenting about how confident Danny looked while standing on stage. He had them shook and had to deal with their very obvious personal feelings toward him. I wish he'd lived long enough to really be one of the GOATs of dance so they'd have to interact with him as a peer.
Coming back to these numbers is always amazing, but to hear he died . . . It's so unbelievably terrible. This is such a great samba, in any format or arena. That series of arm movements starting at about 2:06 seems insane, so intricate. Is there a special name for that pattern? I'd knock a tooth out lol, mine or his. But rip Danny. What a loss.
