At last someone who fully understood the deeper meaning of the song. Yes ADABANA means a flower that doesn't bear fruits which to us its purpose-less but we never knew what it mean to the flower itself. It doesn't matter how others look at you but just strive to do what you want to do, the end results is not up to them and its all inside you that matter. We might never knew that the purpose of ADABANA but still ADABANA keeps on blooming regardless of what others think about it because its what ADABANA do, blooms and that it, as we all should, keep on 'blooming' ourselves as long as we enjoy doing it, everything else doesn't matter - be who you are - and it really fits with NEMOPHILA works on their music.
Great song this has already reached my all time favorite songs, easily. Love everythin* in this song. this song is perfect in what I love in a song. Tamu rocking out, Mayus vocal diversity, incredible guitars, Haraguchi San holding it all down. .Can’t wait for a Gaijin guys reaction 😻 Tamu is a huge Michael Portnoy, and Dave Lombardo fan. This band is just giving me that very same: excitement, joy, awe, that I would get watching EVH.
Fantastic reaction Wave, it seems to have hit you in the same manner as it did me. No doubt, just absolutely awesome. I'm still blown away by the fact that Tamu is wearing platform shoes while playing the song. Look forward to catching you over on GG! Much respect!🤘
Nemophila makes such great music in a variety of ways- you know they are geniuses getting ready to bust out for the world to hear! I will be watching their livestream next week at the Whiskey and have tix to see them at Aftershock- I will be there early and in the first row so they can melt my face! 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Great song for sure! They put everything together so well, very great lyrics too, Everything in it is fire🔥, especially the drumming of tamu, definitely their next level stuff! 🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
WAVE: "Please don't make me pick a favorite Japanese Girl band, artist or song! They are all so freaking awesome! Just when I have my favorite nailed down, another one comes in and blows it away!"
Thanks for this. Love this song and band and appreciate them even more after your great reaction. Having a proper musician point stuff out really helps to understand the song more . Thanks
I get a big kick out of your fascination, and discovery of new songs. Especially this one of which is my favorite right now. Keep doing what you do, as far as making it enjoyable. Breaking it down teaches me a lot about music. You also make it funny when it needs to be. Rock on!
Great reaction Wave. This song has so much going on in the back ground its like you need to do 2 reactions to try and fit in all of the complexity going on. The ladies certainly bringing their big game to the park with this song.
Such an underrated band! They put so much thought into their overall look and performance. These girls are always smiling so much. Because of the darkness of this song, it looks like they must have made some kind of bet. (i.e., "If you smile while playing this song, you will have to buy everyone dinner for the whole tour!") How does Murata Tam even lay in those massive heels (9:25)? OK, I literally made that last comment and then 5 seconds later you acknowledged the same thing. I guess it takes about 5 seconds to cross over from my 1/2 the brain to your half...LOL
Hazuki said she always wanted to try the overhand tapping technique but lacked confidence until she got encouragement and advise from Akira Takasaki on that Loudness tour.
Another really cool thing about these outfits is they can actually have different versions with the same theme so they don't get bored. Girls hate wearing the same thing as other girls anyway. What a brilliant idea!
I think this is their best work yet. Not the smiling laughing happy go lucky we are use to. They were deadly serious here. Holy shit this was good. They ladies all looked gorgeous as usual. But Hazuki and Hara Chan holy crap. Their looks really changed. Hara chans much shorter hair, to the make up, everything. WOW.
No, they are releasing three consecutive singles over the summer to coincide with their tour. The next and last one will be in a late July, I think. I imagine they'll drop a new LP by the end of the year, but that's just my speculation.
So I looked up the name to see what it meant an Adabana (アダバナ) refers to any flower which doesn't bear fruit or a metaphor for something that is meaningless or fails to meet its fullest potential.
I like the take on the meaning, makes sense. Whilst looking up the implications, I found a cultural thing regarding the title. Yes, the word means a flower (such as a cherry blossom) that does not bring fruit. It is also the name of a fairly recent "Manga" anime story and game in which the lead characters are a girl who has lost her memory and a boy who knows her by name living in fairytale-like stories (the "Land of Adabana") that have become damaged, and restoring and reworking them as they go, by recovering words, neutralizing destructive creatures, and repainting the pictures. The implications I see are: What if the story of your life is one you wish was more fruitful? What if you had the power to fix the story? What if you do?
Pretty sure the shoes the drummer is wearing are for the video shoot. Actually liked this one, didn't care much for Ray of Light. Need to see if they're touring the midwest.
Well... I may be a bit bias because I didn't like A ray of light and had very high expectations for this song but after at least 50 listens since its release ADABANA is on the way to kick Hypnosis from the top of my favourite Nemophila songs list!! This whole bridge is absolutely astounding I'm still in shock how F***ing good this whole part is everytime I hear it! It's like everything I love packed in 50secs! Brilliant! Thanks for the reaction keep up the good work 🤘
@@WavePotter When I heard it during the stream and Saki started her lead right after Mayu's first scream I was instantly sent to Metal's heaven and knew I was going to love this! Felt exactly the same when they played Hypnosis on stream before its official release lol
@@benjpr5395 That version in their 2nd Anniversary live stream debut is my favorite rendition to date. Seen it live a few times after that on streams, 9 Jan and 11 Jun, and still think TAMU did the best on that very first performance
Its something else isn't it so complex and showing just how good they are .As for album they are righting for album 2 (started before Revive came out) but no clue as to when yet.
Adabana - I didn't think it gets so deep. When you checked that word, now I understand better, what Saki was saying about writing this lyrics. That mean a lot to me. How can they be so good being that young? Nobody in the band is 30 years old.
As others have mentioned, Saki is over 30. For the record, she turns 32 this October 3. And Tamu will be 30 on September 25. But in fairness to Reel Mixer, to the best of my recollection the others are 25 or under. The Japanese musicians at this level most often started with piano around age 3 and were expected to give it all they had. And picking up other instruments later, they brought their high work ethic to the job and here we are with Hazuki years behind Saki in age but not so far behind in skills. They are all dedicated and phenomenal. And have been working on it almost all their lives.
There's a very cool interview (written) where Saki and Hazuki discuss the writing of this song. Very intricate process. So cool. The guitar work between the two of them is so awesome.
Nice analysis and reaction. According to Reddit folks, Nemophila's US version of Revive album is out and YT- (Reddit page title -- "US Version" tracks are up on RUclips") with individual links and looks like they are non-MV format (audio) and separate channel intended for YT's Library : ruclips.net/channel/UCWjdnkwHPZYLmuvKFSE4r6g interesting is the individual links to YT on that reddit page links to each song as US version (plays audio) where the YT channel they reside (aboive link) shows the MV version and plays the original ... frankly the ones that are listed as US version sounds the same as the original .... maybe there are more proficient folks who could figure that out.
Maybe unpopular opinion. But Nemophila is so much more fun to listen to in their studio/ music videos than any of the live stuff I've seen. I think that the insanity of the song writing benefits a lot from the precision of a studio mix.
The guitars are hideously compressed as in "Ray of Light" overall mix is far from good. Whoever is producing this stuff (presumably for new album) did a piss poor job and should be replaced as soon as possible.

That instrumental breakdown is SICK!
I have Tamu's signature Tama sticks and now, I need Tamu's signature boots 😆🥁👢🔥
This song has it all and so does Neomphila!
TAMU and Akane is my favorite drummers of all time

One of their best instrumental breakdowns without a doubt
Dissension is hard to beat with its catchiness but this might be my new fav Nemophila track and MV. Definitely the pick to introduce them to others.

They have a new song coming out next month.
This song had a Coldrain feel from the very beginning. Another banger.
