Mariah. Is that you? We all know Kat does impersonations, but this is beyond crazy! This feels like possession?! She did it with an entire Whitney Medley, where if you closed your eyes for most of the performance you would think it's the original! Now it's happening again, with Mariah. Everybody knows MC's voice, and this is just completely nuts

She wrote the songs after all, but the more and more she sings them, the easier, relatively speaking it's becoming. So when I first heard this Pinoy chick, I was like wait a minute, could you play that again?! As much as I try to avoid saying she sounds like her alot, it's like there in your face. So you can choose to hear something else, which is fine, but you cannot insist the earth is flat, when the rest of us have long past that stage.

Thank you for featuring this video of Katrina. I think by now, she has already locked down all the crazy difficult songs from Daydream album. Of course not with the same ease as Mariah back in the day but pretty close when she puts serious effort into it. Perhaps when she gets a bit older they will become easier. I think the only remaining PITA for her is "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis but in time, she is going to nail that as well

Can you react to Christina Marie singing 1990s and 2000s Mariah songs? I love her. And of course, Katrina come through! I know right! This Open Arms version is so good and I like it better than the original. But filipinos like the original version because it's sung by Arnel Pineda so it's understandably more popular here. And as you said, Mariah songs are hard as is due to the technique required but even if you have those down, it's hard to replicate her buttery and clear tone.

I love Filipino Singer. Because I am Filipino; and I love Katrina velarde cause she is incredible. But saddest thing; is that they tried to copy the original version/singer of the song; instead of discovering their own singing.
I dont like it when rock songs or ballads are castrated to make it fit to singers voice. I would prefer the original versions of journey and survivor (i wanna know......) over mariahs But i would always choose Katrina over the original.
This is a song written by the band Journey....although Katrina is a great vocalist....Steve Perry...Lead singer of Journey...displays much more emotion...and does not add runs after every line....just my opinion....now react to Journey's original version....
