India and Pakistan were essentially one country so the roots of classical singing in both countries is the same. The singers in this video are all singing in Hindi or Punjabi language. So any difference you see in the singers boils down to their training, capabilities and tonal quality. I don't think larynx positioning in either countries' techniques would be different. It just depends if one is using their original grounded voice or the throaty falsetto voice.

Yes, India and Pakistan have the same music in the sense that the fundamentals of music like the 7 notes, the Ragas, and the majority of the instruments are the same, therefore it is Indian Music or South Asian Music, if we include Nepal, Afghanistan, and others, but there is a difference in the taste, flavor, style, and the different genres of Music that the mass people of Pakistan prefer, focus and enjoy, like the Sufi/Spiritual/Muslim Kalam, Ghazal, and the Local/Ethnic folk Music ( For example : Punjabis/common with India, Pashtuns, Sindhis, Saraikis, Muhajirs/Hindi Urdu, common with India, Baloch, indkowans, Brahuis, etc. Plus, we happen to be lucky to have so many Music Master Families/Gharanas of Music and so many Master vocalists are all here in Pakistan, and all at the same time/era , to serve the Art of music, for the whole world, including India.

Here’s the thing: both India and Pakistan are part of the SAME system. After the Partition of India and creation of Pakistan in 1947, there was this forced effort-not natural or organic-to sound different. Now, in Pakistan, most semi-classical compositions were to Urdu poetry, which is outstanding. The rhythmic structure of that poetry-prosody-lent itself admirably to one of the many ra’ags: a ra’ag called Durbari (16th century composition of MianTansen). It enabled easy lyrical underlay. So a lot of Pakistani songs, classically based, sound similar-like reggae does, perhaps? Pakistan needed an identity. Mainland India did not. That said, Pakistani singers are amazing, like anywhere else, but they make do commercially with one ra’ag, and the Muslim emphasis on thoracic and nasopharyngeal exertion, as heard in aza’ans or call to prayer, is felt so well. Sufi singing, mostly ‘qawwalies’ set to similar beat cycles, accords Pakistani songs the identity sought. (Pakistani ‘ghazals’ do turn to other ra’ags, but sparingly.) India, on the other hand, is spared of this younger brother complex and the width of range remains. Further in this loud thinking, I take you to Bol Hu, where an eight-year-old sings. That is once again ra’ag Durbari, a melodic framework that she can combine easily with any modern composition. She knows and sings the phrases in notation, in syllables and vowels, and then merges with the freer expression of the band. I lament that such rich Pakistani talent-mind-boggling-is moored to mainly one of the countless ra’ags. A talented singer can learn it well and completely if begun early.on. But it is limiting. Most of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s songs, actually his genius uncle Nusrat’s, are Sufi songs also in Durbari.

The Indian Subcontinent has two schools of Music. Northen part has Hindustani Classical and Southern part has Carnatic Music. What you saw/hear in the videos were all songs based in Hindustani Classical music and ragas and vocal tradition. So they are same and differences were just in style and skills of the singers.
Pakistan as a nation came into existence only recently around 70 years while the Hindustani Classical school has been in existence from thousands of years, so has been the Carnatic Music.

A lot of Indians in the comment section are spreading lies that "all" Pakistanis are singing Indian songs, most of them did not, about 6/10 were Pakistani songs and the 7th was by the Pakistani singer Atif Aslam but for Bollywood, so just to clear it up:
    1. Sehar: "Bol Kaffara"/"Dil galti kar betha hai" is a Pakistani song originally from a qawalli from Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, it was then used in Pakistani drama OST in 2018. This was later copied by an Indian singer Jubin Nautiyal in 2021.
    2. Mustafa: yes, that song is Indian.
    3. Sahir Ali Bhagga: Pakistani song "Dhola" from Coke Studio season 12.
    4. Aima Baig: Indian song
    5: Asim Azhar: Indian song
    6. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan: originally Pakistani song by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, later has been used in Bollywood

it doesn't matter. Pakistanis learn to sing only through Indian classical music. Roots will forever be from India.

All r auto tuned accept few

      @@soniarockstar9125 Yeah,
Sonu Nigham, Sunidhi Chauhan, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Sethi, Quratulain Baloch, Shafqat Amanat Ali are all really good without autotune.
Somy Nigham especially can sing in different Octaves.
I guess most of them are Pakistani so you maybe wouldn’t know about them.
But romanticism of the elders is famous in South Asia… you should appreciate the new singers as they adapt with modern instruments and requirements.

I am from Pakistan and i have listened to all of my singers live in concerts. All artists are good. They all know how to engage audience, made them dance and sing.
My best singer is "Mustafa Zahid" once he got invited in a wrong audience. It was a University gathering of Alumini in suit. and audience was just hanging out with each other no one focusing on music. But that man gave his full performance. He sang all of his songs with full passion. Engaged the little audience which was giving him attention. he made them dance and sing. 👏
