I am strongly considering buying a 2012-2015 GTR (hoping to get in the $50K range and as few miles as I can have). Can you point me to your best video to look at daily maintenance? What kind of problems should I look into, depending on how the owner drove the car? My job doesn't pay that well, but I am able to sell some stock to buy the car all cash. I am worried about being able to fix something if it went wrong (I wish you were local to SoCal). Love the vids by the way! They're lots of help and the first time I've subscribed to anything, other than for friends.
Honestly the GTR is a very reliable car. Pretty bullet proof and they don't really have issues. Like with any car, just make sure it has a good clean CarFax with no issues. And have a certified Nissan GTR dealer to a pre purchase inspection before you buy. That way they can read the computer and see if anything hidden is messed up.
dude if you got a job that doesn't pay well and the only way you can buy a car is by selling your stocks, don't make that financial mistake. Get a cheap reliable car and wait until your passive income can pay for your dream car one day. Otherwise keep investing in stocks, crypto, and real estate if you haven't already. Remember cars are depreciating "assets".
2Fast2Furious I wasn’t aware of that! I know their are shady people out there but didn’t expect you tubers to be doing the majority of it! ay! if you buy your oil filter and oil from fcp euro, your able to send back your old oil and old filter for a full refund! Saves a decent amount of money over time
If it was under warranty, you would have to use the dealer or void it. They are strict on the GT-Rs that is why maintenance is a lot. Out of warranty, its a no brainer. Do it yourself. BTW, get yourself a new battery if it dies in 3 days. That is a weak/bad battery.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Something else other than your normal stock stuff is killing your battery but it probably damaged it already since regular batteries aren't designed to go dead like that. You should buy a Optima or Odyssey battery if you plan to drain it like that to zero and charge it back up. Dude what did the labor to change the diffs and trans cost. We all want to know what they charge. Totally get that you got a deal but what would they charge
I'm not too sure how E85 would effect that. But I'd stick with at least once a year or every 5k miles. Whichever comes first. If you are doing a ton of track driving. Sooner would be better
Nothing out of the ordinary. I do an annual oil change every 5k miles. Costs me about $35 total. At 35k miles I did a trans and diff flush. $400. And thats it. Nothing expensive to own. At 41k miles now

It’s so hard though being a car guy 😭 Maybe I’ll just splurge in a year or so and get myself the new Toyota GR86 or the Nissan 400z. 🤔
Turns out the OBD2 splitter I kept plugged in put a draw on the battery. But if a car sits for too long the battery can die because nothing is keeping the charge up. But now that I don't leave anything plugged into the OBD2 I havent had an issue. When I'm gone for a week I'll have the trickle charger on the car just to keep the battery life good
Honestly in my 11 years of owning vehicles. I've never had an issue with any of my cars, motorcycles or dirtbikes. You cant even do that with most oil filters anyways. Only ones that attach from the bottom of the engine. Filters that get installed from the top or side don't seem to affect those engines since it's not possible to fill those first.
I wouldn't worry about the maintenance. If you do it yourself, it's no different then any other car. 2 years and 9 months later I've spent less then $1k in servicing the car. Nothing crazy
I just wash it like normal. I don't use any wax on the vinyl since it will make the matte colors shiny. Also its get stuck on the lines between each piece. So just a gentle hand wash with a good thick micro fiber washer

What type of work do you do? I’m tired of being poor.
LOL
2Fast2Furious You salty? Why would you assume that?
u salty brah?
2Fast2Furious I wasn’t aware of that! I know their are shady people out there but didn’t expect you tubers to be doing the majority of it! That makes no sense to me, why build your channel and then make money and sell shit? Then lose your subscribers and likes and of course money! Stupid. This guy I’m not sure of, until I buy something from that individual, which I never have from a RUclipsr. Anyways that’s between God and him. I’m not out to judge why or why not someone has or doesn’t have on not knowing that person or knowing about the person.
ay! if you buy your oil filter and oil from fcp euro, your able to send back your old oil and old filter for a full refund! Saves a decent amount of money over time
Wow thats crazy!
If it was under warranty, you would have to use the dealer or void it. They are strict on the GT-Rs that is why maintenance is a lot. Out of warranty, its a no brainer. Do it yourself. BTW, get yourself a new battery if it dies in 3 days. That is a weak/bad battery.
My car's been out of warranty for a while lol. I put a brand new battery in the car when I bought it. The 2 things in my OBD2 might be causing a draw.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Something else other than your normal stock stuff is killing your battery but it probably damaged it already since regular batteries aren't designed to go dead like that. You should buy a Optima or Odyssey battery if you plan to drain it like that to zero and charge it back up. My friends GT-R same year as yours can last weeks without the battery going dead when it sits.
Dude what did the labor to change the diffs and trans cost. We all want to know what they charge. Totally get that you got a deal but what would they charge
Depending on the shop, should be $150-$250. I'm sure Nissan would charge a ton tho!
What’s the brand of that portable battery 🪫 charger 🔌
That link is located in the description!!
should I change my oil every 5000 miles also even being on e85? I heard every 3000
I'm not too sure how E85 would effect that. But I'd stick with at least once a year or every 5k miles. Whichever comes first. If you are doing a ton of track driving. Sooner would be better
Fucken beauty except that wrap... a matte wrap would be dope
So what’s the cost of daily drive a gtr ? Can someone just give me a summary of it
Nothing out of the ordinary. I do an annual oil change every 5k miles. Costs me about $35 total. At 35k miles I did a trans and diff flush. $400. And thats it. Nothing expensive to own. At 41k miles now
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thanks for the info
Have you tried a battery maintainer?
I've been using one for 4 years now! Love it! ruclips.net/video/xGN3rlOLFgc/видео.html
Walmart always has this oil super cheap
That’s exactly where I always get my mobile 1 oil for my Evo 9!
That’s true, but make sure the quality is good too
BMW Man711 wish they sold royal purple and wix filters
How do you afford your cars? They're so expensive.
I can answer all your questions with this video I made on that! ruclips.net/video/m4FKKlAGdEk/видео.html It all comes down to your budget and what you are willing to save and spend your money on!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed nice, I just watched the video! Honestly I could buy a new Nismo GTR in cash but man I’m so cheap when it comes to buying stuff 😂 unless it’s in a good investment. I promised myself I wouldn’t buy any expensive cars until I got an awesome house and can pay the car with passive income. It’s so hard though being a car guy 😭 Maybe I’ll just splurge in a year or so and get myself the new Toyota GR86 or the Nissan 400z. 🤔
I respect that U do ur own oil changes (me too, '16 rogue), but how the hell does the battery die from non-usage!?🤨
Turns out the OBD2 splitter I kept plugged in put a draw on the battery.
But if a car sits for too long the battery can die because nothing is keeping the charge up. But now that I don't leave anything plugged into the OBD2 I havent had an issue. When I'm gone for a week I'll have the trickle charger on the car just to keep the battery life good
What is draining the battery? Love the K&N filters 👍🏻
Turns out it was the Cobb plug being plugged int. Once I took that out, car hasn't died even if I don't drive it for a week
Why does ur battery keep dying?
Keep a battery tender on there when it's just sitting around if it's dying every few days. That's assuming the battery is still good.
Bob Sacamano I’m getting in a better habit of plugging that in if I know I won’t be driving it for a few days
Awesome wrap, what do you do for work?
Thanks man! This was a fun project to do! Coming up on 2 full years being a RUclipsr and running my marketing company
Bros FOURR Speed very cool man good content
What do you do for a living
You are looking at it! YT is full time for us! Been at this almost 4 years now full time, 10 years overall!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed wow, good for you man love the cars!
@@loganborn_ZL1 Thank you!! We have tons of content on the cars we’ve had!
Jesus Christ you didn’t fill the new oil filter before putting it on
Honestly in my 11 years of owning vehicles. I've never had an issue with any of my cars, motorcycles or dirtbikes. You cant even do that with most oil filters anyways. Only ones that attach from the bottom of the engine. Filters that get installed from the top or side don't seem to affect those engines since it's not possible to fill those first.
Gtr cost hell if not diyed. Thats why I have mine already 9years.
You mean the cost of them? It's crazy to see they are the same price still and I have seen some going up in price!
My dream car is the 2012 Nissan GTR, but I didn’t account for maintenance...
I wouldn't worry about the maintenance. If you do it yourself, it's no different then any other car. 2 years and 9 months later I've spent less then $1k in servicing the car. Nothing crazy
any special way to wash your car so it shines? i remember my friend use to go and get wax on his car through the car wash lol
I just wash it like normal. I don't use any wax on the vinyl since it will make the matte colors shiny. Also its get stuck on the lines between each piece. So just a gentle hand wash with a good thick micro fiber washer
oh i think ik what you mean, theres polish that lasts for a while ! check out adams polishes watch their vids on how to apply it ☺️, it makes the car look so goodddd, it also makes washing and drying so easy 🥰
graphene ceramic coating^
Can you see same results for a new 2021?
Yeah all the R35 GTR's should be identical to own. Super easy to work on
Yea but to be fair you're talking servicing, it will but like any other apart from slightly higher price when it comes to tyres, brakes and oils. But people aint really worried about the service factor, instead if something breaks now that's a complete different story.
So... basically oil change costs about as much as on my 2010 Nissan Altima... how sway 🤔 yeah now I want it.
Yea I haven't spent anything in maintenance other than oil and some new brake pads. It's been very reliable!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed it's always been my dream car. But looking at your videos make me want it more 🔥 I definitely see myself in this car in the future
Did you buy like a years worth at least of oil for that sale?
lol no. Im sure in another year I can easily get a deal again. Advanced auto is always running deals
Oil expires
I love the Nissan gtr my dream car but why are the brakes so expensive?
dawod I have no clue lol. From Nissan they are a rip off especially since they aren’t even carbon ceramic
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I wonder if the will release carbon ceramic brakes in the future
dawod The 2020 has them available. I’m sure they are well over $20k tho!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed that's is insane you can get aftermarket ones cheaper
I have a 350z, my dad has a gtr, and my brother has a 370z
Very cool! That's a great line up for the garage! That would be cool to have all three together!
I’m excited to get a camera to film all of it. But my dad got me into cars
Awesome Thank you for this video! I have a plan and by time I’m 20 I could have a gtr if the plan goes well but I didn’t know the how much I’d have to pay for everything after
Telling me it’s not expensive to maintain is going to make me make a terrible financial decision 😂😂
LOL. But it really cost nothing more then my $22k 370z! Nothing special if you can do the work yourself! Plus the GT-R's are holding values very well, so it's not a car you'd loose much, if anything on for depreciation.
Bro I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me! R35 will be my next car I have an 09 370 and an 04 Wrx. Just trying to get like you when I grow up lol 😂 hope we can meet someday soon
Boost Kollector Nice man! Keep working towards it and you’ll have one!!
How much does the blinker fluid cost? 😂
Depends on what store carries it :)
Y would the battery 🔋 die within 3 days of non use?
Because it's a bad battery.
The computer on the car is always on updating and using power
@@grgmax6286 All cars have computers and they are not running when the car is turned off. I have a friend with a GT-R and it sits for weeks with no issues. His battery is bad and needs to be replaced.
Where did you get that wrap done and what is it called??
I did it myself in the garage ;) ruclips.net/video/Dnadtmylx44/видео.html
If you put the keys close enough to the car when your not driving it the battery will stay on.
Insurance price in Canada made me give up
Dang. Yeah I've heard the prices up there are crazy!
check out concept Z performance for your R35 brakes and do it yourself 🔧👍
Daniel Robinson Nice I’ll look those up!
$1500 for a Ferrari 🛢 change, because the engine needs to drop, lol, not really, but the $1500 is real just because the tech at Ferrari needs to stamp your receipt for certification.
Haha I believe it! That's why you don't go to the dealer for that! Other certified places can do it much cheaper.
Dry wall is not wood my friend haha.
I knocked on the wooded broom handle ;)
Watch closer lol

How much do you spend on gas
Not too much since I work from home most of the time. But a full tank is like $40. I fill it up maybe once a month
Something is draining your battery,, if it won't start after 3/4 days,, I've got 2 Skylines,, silver+black never ever had any trouble with them,,, but boy oh boy do they eat tyres,,,,,
great video. i am in the market for a hellcat or GTR.
Good choice! I'd go GTR all day! It's fun being able to go around turns lol
Hey, try unplugging the OBD2 thing for the exhaust or whatever else you’ve got plugged in if you know you’re not gonna be driving the car. It can drain power
Jack Turner Yeah that probably does create a draw. Once my Cobb stay on while being plugged in and that drained my car. So I’d assume the two things plugged into the obd cause it
Bros FOURR Speed most likely. I’ve got a little Bluetooth scanner and it gets power even when the cars off so that’ll almost certainly be the issue
thats not a bottle, thats a jug
Is there a crush washer around the drain plug?
Grant Collins Not too sure if it’s a crush washer. But 3 changes later, I’ve never had a drip of a leak
$230 an oil change at the dealership.
Yeah that's a rip off. So easy to do at home
Do you have carbon ceramic?
Nope, just the stock brakes. I think that was only available for the Nismo model and newer track editions.
So you have to update your radio every time?
You don't have to. I just have it set in there to help me keep things on track
oem is carbon ceramic?
Is there a way to fix the 3-4 day battery life
Turns out one of the cables I had plugged into the OBD2 was putting a draw on the battery. So now it doesn't have an issue
I’ll stick to my Camry. Lol 😂!
lol I doubt this is much more expensive to own tho for the difference in performance.
Anyone that would pay 7k for a brake job should have their head examined........... unless we are talking about maybe a Bugatti or something along that caliber of that type of vehicle.
haha yeah really! $2-$3k for a high performance setup is reasonable. lol
Nice vid
FBI OPEN UP Thanks!
How much was that paint job
It's actually a wrap!! I did this in the garage for about $300 worth of materials! ruclips.net/video/Dnadtmylx44/видео.html
@@BrosFOURRSpeed wicked
You doubt you will have this car at 60k miles ? You plan on sellin ? :(
Well I drive it like 5k miles a year, so thats another 5 years of ownership. I'd probably trade it in for a new one with 2 years lol
Tires life span decreases when they are sitting too man, just saying. You can ride them 2500 miles a year and that doesn’t mean you should keep those tires for 5 years
Yo bro , what’s that battery pack jump start ya have there, would good to have . Way cool to ya do ya own service . N ya show it how to do it .
Here you go! amzn.to/2l75gGA
How could it not start after 4 days??
Turns out, leaving my Cobb AccessPort cable plugged in put draw on the battery
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Whew! I know Nissan is reliable you scared me
@@BrosFOURRSpeed same thing happened with my subie, I thought something was bad wrong.
tylerthepally Yeah when I left the actual AP connected the screen never shut off and that drained the battery. But I figured leaving the cable plugged in would be ok. Apparently not 😅
Sheldon Harris Yeah it was my own fault for having the cable plugged in 😅
The same as a rwd Nissan. Change the fluids. Ta da
