My weekends would be from 00:10-00:15 on repeat
You give out so much of positivity and inspiration through your videos ❤️. Always wait for them and am so excited to watch your videos.

Ammi Marquez same
I know right.
I’m glad I’m not the only one😂😂
Your videos are my biggest motivation! I am in uni right now working towards a degree in chemistry, I’m not sure exactly what i want to be yet but I’m working at a hospital right now as a nurse tech and I love it! Love you 😘♥️
I love Queer Eye as well! Thanks for uploading Jamie I love your videos so much.
Excellent video, thanks for taking the time and effort to post it, much appreciated : )
Thank you so much for requesting blink, right off the bat it is improving my life. Very helpful
‘Because you have no friends’ 😂 So mean but funny at the same time!
Another great video, you are such an inspiration to many. I love your aesthetic 😍
Jamie every time I watch you I always am like "I need to get up and get productive!" I love it! You are always so inspiring to watch ❤️
You're such an inspiration! I hope to achieve this kind of balance as I start medical school. I'm already kind of panicking about not being ready enough.
i love your always positive vibe! makes me feel positive!
Every time I watch your videos, I feel refreshed! So interesting.
3 weeks in medschool now and I find it challenging to adjust. Every now and then I try to watch your videos and I feel motivated with how you seem to get all things work together. You are so calm while you speak.. 😭 I feel like I want to be a better person 😅😅 more vids pls!
Weekend well spent! Doctors also need some time to unwind ✨
great as always honey.and good points about types of scrubs
You are an inspiration for all of us who need to no there are people who can get it together 😍😍
Hey I love your videos, it’s so inspiring. Hope you can keep making videos despite your busy schedule. Can you make a video about how you remember so much critical information or memorize information.
You relate with me so much rn - you're my hero! Working in a hospital system *_and_* living the life of a night shifter.
Rarely do ppl understand what that life is like until they've lived it - living our lives *_opposite_* of the daytime/regular business hrs ppl.
Sometimes, I do wonder though - how did our parents/previous generations do it _before_ 24-hour supermarkets, superstores, ATMs, etc.
Even still, there are still something's that need to be done in the daytime, and having to disrupt your regular sleep schedule around it is so painful sometimes.
And if you're on-call and happen to get called in that night, or your normal day off, well... *_damn!_*
Oh, and, driving in the opposite direction of rush hour traffic is another perk for night shifters
I’m so surprised you can still upload videos. 7:30 am till 7:30 pm is literally the entire day. I love your videos so I really appreciate it!! Thank you!
Thanks Alyssa and thanks for watching :)
I absolutely love you and your videos. You motivated me to go after my dreams. I work 12hrs shifts as well but... when I am off I am off. You did 60hrs in that week and had 2 days off ... I know laundry and other stuff must be done but YOU NEED TO ALLOW YOURSELF TO REST. One day: to slow down - yoga , meditation, hiking or a walk in the park or just sleep in. Avoid burning out - I v been there and it's terrible.
Mati xxx
I strive to be motivated and organized like you💚
Only 2 weeks into med school lol.... I am so glad you share your MD life with us! Love seeing your videos and thank you for sharing!
good luck!!! enjoy!
yoour time management skill is amazing! always inspiring. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching
I always wanted to be a doc and your videos inspired me lot I am going to start med school next month and I feel excited hope I can manage it succesfully, Love you x
yeah here is an update I can not stand anymore in here, its so hard and I am not anjoying at all. Here is a pilot twist for you, if someone is forcing you to go med school; please don't even listen their opinious and go wherever you want because someday you feel like you kinda not belong here. Anyways I hope when I finish this school I will be more happy and know what I really want. Till that day, I will force myself to do more, cause I believe that human life is the most important part. Wait for the next update! xx
Every time I watch your videos I get up to clean 😭😂💚
Your videos have for sure inspired me to create my own VLOG showing my journey to becoming a Nurse Practitioner!!
Love a day in my life videos 🌿
Can you talk about your study routine in medical residency?
hey jamie! i love the style of your vlogs- so casual yet planned out. it's quite distinctive from other med student channels
Thanks Mark!
Problem is the weekend goes by too fast and then you’re back to work
True
I am currently in my last year of undergrad and I'll be applying to medical school *hopefully* next year! At my hospital job, I work as a tech at the ER! I know we have 2 COMPLETE DIFFERENT ROLES but imo, night shifts are amazing! At my ER we see a lot of elders in the morning, but at night we see a lot of younger patients ! I hope your transition is easy as possible!
Thanks for sharing your schedule with us! It's always encouraging to see you balancing your life with a career in medicine. I'm starting classes on Tuesday and they've really been emphasizing balance :)

You're so lucky to be a night person. I'm a morning person and night shifts are still a nightmare! If you have any tips on how to prepare for them/survive them, I'm accepting!!
PS: candy is my spirit animal!!!!
" get you a boyfriend who makes you food"
God bless you, I got accepted to the medical school and people like you who inspire me and many ambitious students.
You are so inspiring :-) Good luck on your night shift.
”Also this apartment is mine” I died 😂
I actually asked on instagram how you cope with the day and night shifts and this vid answered my question. I liked the video. 😆😉
Hey Jamie! Could you please post a workout routine?
Omg Candy is the cutest! 😍
Hey Jamie could you please make a video of your typical breakfast and the coffee machine/coffee you drink every morning?
Or if you can respond to me on here 😬😊💕 thank you so much!
The best decision in life I ever made was to utilize the drop of service at the laundromat. It's worth a try to never have to worry about getting a machine in your apt complex.
I remember during my internship spending my day off doing laundry, cleaning, and doing random tasks that everybody else gets to do during the week lol
I love how you edit your videos. would you mind explaining how you edit them?
sending love from Canada!
Great video! Made me realize that I need to clean haha.
❤️❤️❤️my inspiration
Hi Jamie I just wanna know how you edit your videos?? (I love your channel!! they keep me going in my premed studies xx)
Ur vids are loaded with info :)
tbh, watching your videos really motivates me, thank you so much for posting these, I hope that I could meet you some day, doctor Jamie (ah~, I don't know your family name, :D)

Flawless 🤓
Love your videos so much
Thanks Sophia!
Ure Videos always help me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹🌹
Your cat is absolutely gorgeous
Hey Jamie 💓, as an intern do you always have to wear scrubs to work? Keep striving!
sending love from Poland!
Candyyyyy 😍😍😍❤️ @ 06:30
How do you adjust yourself to get used in changing of your bio clock that your sleeping time always change ?
In my hospital you are only allowed to wear hospital issued scrubs. You get yelled at if you wear your coat or hospital issued scrubs outside the hospital.
link to your necklace please! love it!
I love u and ur awesome❤😍
Hello Dr JAMIE!
This is why I fear for my cortisol fluctuations once I start working the shifts :(
Used to being an early bird :(
Love your cat 💕 show more of her.
How do vacation work for doctors? Are you obligated to stick to an on call schedule?
Lmaoo Candy 😂😂 6:30
Hiii i love your videos
I was wondering if you let your cat alone? I have two cats and I don’t know if I should give them to my mom (she lives in a different city)
I’m about to be an intern at the hospital and they have crazy crazy shifts (something like +24 continue hrs)
One of my cats eats a lot so they would starve the next day 😿😹
your cat is so cute❤
Love it
Oh okayyyy i see you with the Le Creuset Cerise Dutch Oven, i sell those ;)
Love Catan!!!
What’s the recipe to your clam linguine?
What is this dainty necklace that you wear? @jamie
Are the 12 hr days and weekends off generally the same for all specialties?
Short answer is no. Residency is kinda like college, in order for us to train in the full scope of whatever field we pursue, it is split up between 2-4 week “blocks” which are similar to quarters/semesters. Each block is a different aspect of that specialty.
Ill use internal medicine for example because thats the specialty im applying for.
There are blocks where you have inpatient (hospital) or outpatient (clinic). For inpt, schedule is typically 6 days a week from, say, 7am-4/5pm but every 4 days you are on call which means every 4 days you work 7am-7/8pm. So because of this system your day off doesnt always fall on a weekend. If you work the whole weekend, thats called a black weekend. By some magic you get golden weekends which are normal free weekends. But this applies to what we call “floor service” which is general hospital med. if you are inpt but rotating in specialty such as gastroenterology or nephrology, you will probably have weekends off.
Now the 7am-5pm rule is more like a guideline. Yes your day technically ends at that time but because you have to write notes on every single one of your old patients still on the floors everyday, your day can easily extend to 7am-8/10pm depending on how many more new patients you saw during the day and also depending on how slow you write your notes.
Outpatient is similar but you dont take call, day begins 8-4 usually (not taking into account note writing) and most of the time you have weekends.
Surgery is a different story, you basically live at the hospital during on service blocks and general rule is you should only apply to surgery if you cant see yourself doing anything else. Think of it this way, other fields you work to live, surgery you live to work. Nothing is more important than doing slicey/diceys. People regularly reach 80hr limits and even are encouraged to lie about duty hours in order to not get in trouble. Theyre call system is insane, every 4 days you work a 24-32hr shift. But if you literally cant see yourself doing anything else than. But at least the notes you write are no where near as lengthy and detailed so thats nice.
Can you help me pass my nclex pn? You just inspired me to try and pass for the 4th time I won’t give up so I can be in your shoes one day
to be a doctor its great job
So you don’t work on weekends? I used to want to be an aerospace engineer but they get payed wayy to little. I mean, I was looking at careers and I found out that maybe a doctor would be nice, but I just want to know if they work on weekends. And can you guys tell me what universities are good for medicine? Also, what are their working hours? And finally, how many years do you spend in university in order to become a doctor?
Candy! ❤❤
Damn I downloaded the app
Hello, I am also a medical student but I am not studying medicine. There is something I am curious about, If you are a resident medicine, are you being paid already? Or not?
Hugs from Brazil
I’m here for the cat scenes.
how many hours do you sleep when you are on call?12 hours in the hospital.....do you find it difficult to have you own leisure time?
She is educated, she is classy, she is mature, and she is beautiful.
💜💜💜
Are there restrictions on what color your scrubs should be?
Garth Marc it depends on the hospital or facility you work in. Some places have requirements and some do not.
