I’m gonna be honest with you! When your Winnie conked out, I lost interest in your channel, bec I’m an RV enthusiast! There was a chunk of your car camping life that I missed out on completely b (but never once did I unsubscribe from you)! It was such a big delight watching you make that tomato soup & grilled cheese sando…and then that very nice looking breakfast the next morning! It made me realize the four major boxes your channel checked for me, that I missed so much : RV life enthusiast, great chef, Sci Fi fan, and awesome personality! Welcome back buddy…can’t wait for the more intense cooking you’ll be doing this coming Spring/Summer 🖖🏼
I highly recommend another state park in southwest Washington. Seaquest State Park. If you haven’t been there, it has some great hiking trails through some tremendously impressive old growth forest, plus it’s adjacent to one of the Mt St Helen’s visitor centers and a wetlands walking trail. You won’t regret it.
This is the video I've been waiting for! It's so good to see you out in your new RV enjoying yourself. Best wishes for many adventures in the future, and thanks for taking us along.
I'm sure you've learned this, but if you back up so the cement parking stop is under your van you won't have to step over it. I'm glad I found your channel. Your rig is absolutely beautiful. All the rest of us mom's love that you find water for your mama. I also must have water where I camp.
David, That day we all have wished for you is finally here: RV camping with your new rig.🎉❤ That bench at your sliding door entrance looks like it's in your way. Was it an issue for you? That soup looked ridiculously good! 👍 I'm going to make some for myself. Thanks for sharing a longer video on your first trip. Take care brother! Sealander
David, I never knew black enrollees worked for the CCC. I always heard about the CCC, and it's role with early construction of parks around the nation. However, I never have heard anything about the black enrollees. That was very interesting, and I'm glad you shared that fact with us on your video. Awesome video!👍👍👍 Take care brother!

Let me know next time you wanna go to Millersylvania, I'd meet you there, or I could show you some other cool places up by Rainier that your rig could easily make it to.
Best spot in the forested area is spot 131. There’s no power to it, but I don’t mind that it’s a corner spot and it just tends to be a little more private than the others. Also, one spot on one side is or seems to be permanentlyleft out of commission so you only have somebody on the other side of you and with it being on a corner fairly private. Right across from that is the bathroom.
Hey... how are you? I've watched all of your videos & have enjoyed each one. They keep getting better and better. Thanks for sharing. Be careful 🌹stay safe 🙏🏾 love 💜 ya' and God bless 😇

I just cannot tell you how happy I am for you! Awesome new adventure with your new rig. Great park as well for your first trip. Its been a long journey getting back to the RV life. Looking forward to the next episode!
You have, and I mean this positively, the sweetest demeanor, kind of a nice break from the “bros””dudes” and “dawgs” I usually watch. Stayed at Millersylvania this winter and woke up to a surprise 4 inches of snow. 😳. Fortunately it slushed up quickly because we were leaving that day and they decided to close the park. But it’s definitely a very nice park.
Camp there all the time and it looks like you are in fact probably in space 244, 245, 246? it was the state park that caught my eye for this video! Thank you for posting it!
Millersylvania State Park brings back memories. I lived in Centralia in the 60s, which is about 15 miles south of there. In junior high I spent a fair amount of time at Millersylvania during the summer. I never spent the night there, but groups of kids would talk somebody's parent into driving us out there in the late morning and we would spend the day walking the trails and swimming in Deep Lake. Then another parent would pick up up in the late afternoon. The park was really busy on warm summer days even back then. You mentioned Rainbow Falls State Park, which is on Route 6 between Chehalis and Raymond. I also used to go there every year for a big family reunion of my mom's fathers side of the family. That typically drew 80-100 people (mom's dad was one of 13 kids). Those flowers are Western Skunk Cabbage. Wow, getting out of Seattle looks like it is crazy now. I have driven from Seattle down past Millersylvania many, many times and it never took more than about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the Maytown exit from Seattle in those days. In the 70s I used to stay on surface streets to the east of I5 at least onto Beacon Hill or down the rinier valley. That was 40+ years ago, but even then I5 traffic often moved slower than surface street traffic. From Queen Anne I would have jumped on Denny and gone up to Broadway, then Broadway south to Boren, Boren past where it changes to Rainier, then onto MLK Ave S until the south end of Boeing Field where I jumped on I5. When I was last in the Pacific Northwest I completely avoided driving in I5 because of the traffic. Old highway 99 is quite a scenic drive once you get south of Tacoma. I remember it from the 50s (before I5).
We went to this park many times when my father was alive. He took us camping many times to many places in the NW. My step dad brought their 5th wheel (26’) and we drove our older class C there. A few other siblings came with their rigs and we camped in the open area. Dad (step) took a wrong turn and took out his bathroom window with a tree in the wooded areas before he was able to get to us. Be careful driving the bigger rigs in the forested campground. The lake was packed when we were there. A lot of inflatables and swimmers and rental units out on the lake.
We have a 22G and I bought a 3 inch mattress topper from Walmart. The mattress alone bothered my hips when I slept and so far with the topper no issues. It does however make it a little tighter when lifting and locking the bed UP. Also when you travel farther it is nice that truck stops have showers. It costs around $15 for a shower and they are always cleaned each use. I have not showered in my RV yet and have used campground and trusk stops.
Well done mate. In a few weeks you'll have a routine and much will be 2nd nature. Florida is in that aggressively bright green phrase. We have already lit the fuse for Summer 😎
To me, GPS has been a little wonky lately. I now plan my trips with a map and override the GPS as I drive to go the route I mapped out. I love sites with trees. Especially during the warmer months.
Stayed there this last summer in our 59K on the way to see Taylor Swift. Not a bad spot. The peninsula is amazing! Saw your post on Instagram and the Travato Owners group so had to check out your video. See ya out there.
@@RVJedeye wife’s an OG swiftie, been to every major tour. She actually missed tickets when they went on sale originally but Ticketmaster called her and said we realized we screwed up and got her (us) floor seats in Seattle.. It was incredible.

Hiking in the rain is fine with the right gear. Now that you've got an RV again, you can get warm and dry afterward, then have a hot meal without cooking in the rain. :-D A historian friend of mine wrote a book about the CCC. I tried to include a link to it, but I think YT blocks links to Amazon in comments. It's called _"The New Deal's Forest Army"_ and it was written by Ben Alexander, if you're interested.
So happy the rig is working out for you! As navigator, Siri is drunk sometimes. I like to do google maps before we go to unfamiliar territory and "drive" the route in spots with street view. I have some suggestions you might consider. We use a 90° "quick release" gadget on our rig for the water hose. No more screwing and unscrewing the hose, just plug and go. I don't know if something like that would work on your Travato. We use a small electric heater (that's also a fan because dual purpose is a must, right?) and an induction cooktop to save on propane. Can't see burning up fuel when there's shore power available and "already paid for". Again, thanks for taking us on the trail, it looks like it's accessible to all. The plants you see are skunk weed and bears love the stuff!!!
Just found your channel - and I'm a fan!!!! Can't wait to binge watch everything!! Building out my Promaster van and hopefully hitting the road sometime late May this year!! Safe travels and amazing videos!!!
Hi 👋🏼 new subscriber from South Florida. This is the first video of yours I am watching. Love it! Great editing and love the mild, friendly, and kind tone.
Another great video, David! It's nice to see you out camping again, and your new rig seems perfect for you and your future camping plans! The plant you were asking about is skunk cabbage -- it's one of the first plants to emerge in the early spring, and yes, it does smell like skunk! I was in site 242 just a few months ago -- I thought I recognized it from the view out your window of the red osier dogwood behind the fence line. Looking forward to seeing where you head next!
My first time seeing your channel, yes I subbed, and I watch tons of nomads. Love your RV. It's beautiful and the park is, too. I've been looking for a minivan forever but think I'm getting too old now. TC and safe travels. 🙏🙏✝️
The way I use my GPS as I go as far as I know how to go and then I turn the GPS on if I’m lost❤. Call the rain liquid sunshine and it goes away quicker. ❤
Beautiful park! Usually they just say the CCC worked on a park but to get more details and photos is really cool. The soup & sammy looked delicious--never thought of putting Old Bay in tomato soup.
Nice first official trip. The park looks nice, and agree in the summer it's probably amazing. Not sure if you're planning a video for it or not, but would be interested to hear what makes the cut & what doesn't stay in. Oh & I saw your bedspread, we just moved and I got rid of the Star Wars sheets for the twin beds otherwise, I'd offer them to you :D
Just one suggestion, if there is a curb, you should always back up over it...they are truly a trip Hazzard. 😊 Have fun on your next trip too. I can't wait to see where you go next.
You don’t know how much I cross my fingers that everything turns out good for you. Lol. I want to see you enjoy your new-to-you rig. As we know there will be issues along the way, that’s expected but for a while I just want to see you happy and enjoying it! Much love and admiration from Orlando, Fl.
Seems like you’re having a great time. Why would anyone live in that area or any other big city area. I guess if you’re from there or you work there I understand. I guess I’m just prejudice because I’m retired. I find that southwest Arizona is the best for me, if there’s more than one car at the red light we are having a traffic jam. Keep up the good videos.
I was close. I see you are in spot 242! I love that part because they have 8 miles of trails that I ride my bikes on, I kayak in the lake and when it’s really hot, I go swimming in the lake.

Hi 👋🏼 new subscriber from South Florida. This is the first video of yours I am watching. Love it! Great editing and love the mild, friendly, and kind tone.
Thanks and thanks for finding me… hopefully much more to come😊
Another great video, David!
Wow that’s cool! And thanks about the flowers 😁
A great first outing, simple and beautiful. ❤
Yes I agree 😊
My first time seeing your channel, yes I subbed, and I watch tons of nomads. Love your RV. It's beautiful and the park is, too. I've been looking for a minivan forever but think I'm getting too old now.
TC and safe travels. 🙏🙏✝️
Thanks for subbing and finding me. 🤗
The way I use my GPS as I go as far as I know how to go and then I turn the GPS on if I’m lost❤. Call the rain liquid sunshine and it goes away quicker. ❤
Love the way you think, I’ll have to start thinking about liquid sunshine more often 😉
Beautiful park! Usually they just say the CCC worked on a park but to get more details and photos is really cool. The soup & sammy looked delicious--never thought of putting Old Bay in tomato soup.
It was interesting to read about the history of the park and the soup & sandwich hit the spot😉
So excited for this first trip! WHOOOOOOO!
Thanks!!!😁
Nice first official trip. The park looks nice, and agree in the summer it's probably amazing. Not sure if you're planning a video for it or not, but would be interested to hear what makes the cut & what doesn't stay in. Oh & I saw your bedspread, we just moved and I got rid of the Star Wars sheets for the twin beds otherwise, I'd offer them to you :D
Thanks! Going to do updates as I start to get out and on some off weekends I’m not out, doing some work on things😊
I'm so excited for you! It's great to see you in your new rig. Did you try the awning or shower yet?
Thanks🤓 Awning works
A GPS is great as long as you know how to get to your destination.
lol I hear you😁
Just one suggestion, if there is a curb, you should always back up over it...they are truly a trip Hazzard. 😊 Have fun on your next trip too. I can't wait to see where you go next.
Thanks… going to share it all😊
David, you just have such style and presence I really enjoy your videos keep it up!
Thank you appreciate you watching 😊
You don’t know how much I cross my fingers that everything turns out good for you. Lol.
I want to see you enjoy your new-to-you rig. As we know there will be issues along the way, that’s expected but for a while I just want to see you happy and enjoying it!
Much love and admiration from Orlando, Fl.
Thank you oh so much! Means a lot😁
Living in wa, we drive by the sign several times a year. I’ve heard it’s a nice park. Maybe we’ll stay there some time.
Oh it really is a good one and has water 😉
Tomato soup looks super yummy 😋 thanks for sharing your meal & this is my first video of yours 😎🥳🙌🏻
Yay!!! So glad you found me and enjoy more!😁
Just found you and it is great to see your videos to areas that i know.
Yay! Thanks for finding me and checking the channel out😁
Seems like you’re having a great time.
Thanks! You know the nice part of living in a big city and having an RV is it can take you away from the big city from time to time😉
I was close. I see you are in spot 242! I love that part because they have 8 miles of trails that I ride my bikes on, I kayak in the lake and when it’s really hot, I go swimming in the lake.
I agree loved hiking around there 👍🏿
you will need to come back in the summer.
100% I agree 😁
Wonderful‼🥰
Thanks 😁
Your flower is Skunk Cabbage, grows in swampy areas, near creeks and such.
Love it! Thanks for the info😊
I love Miller Sylvania State Park. Hard to get in these days.
I can only imagine. I went during off season, when the weather is good I bet it gets packed 😁
This was fantastic! So good to see you back at it! I will say, it threw me for a loop when I saw “the death star” sitting there… 🤣
Who you kidding… me too!😂
So happy to see your first outing in your new rig. I must admit, I really miss your adventures here in Wisconsin when you were here. 🥰
And I miss exploring Wisconsin… going to have to get there again someday 😊
You stayed just minutes from my house, I live in Tenino
Oh cool… enjoyed the park a lot😊
We live in Rochester.
@@larryk3986 I was looking thru comments, saw your reply that you live in Rochester, I live in Tenino
I’m glad the rain didn’t hinder the hike or the peace and tranquility. Nice getaway!!
It’s going to rain I just have to deal with it😂
