There have been videos made from trains and airplanes but somehow driving these incredible landscapes by car is the most amazing experience to watch from home
This video is a powerful reminder of the importance of coexisting with wildlife and protecting our natural world. Let's cherish and preserve these precious habitats for future generations.
Wow. Very beautiful. The drive reminds me of Trail Ridge Road around the Alpine Visitor Center in Rocky Mountain National Park, only Grossglockner seems more green, but less forested, and there seems to be more infrastructure for stops and buses, motorcycles, hence the busier crowd.
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, Grossglockner is a wonderful city, I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on RUclips recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug!!!🙂
How much money is required for a 10 day tour for 2 persons ?? Including everything like food, accommodations, travelling, entertainment, etc .... Not too luxurious but not average either...a little more than average
Parece dois mundos ..de um lado a natureza linda bem conservada..já do outro rochas e neve que isso..Lindo demais..Quem cuida aproveita de seus frutos.. Deus é maravilhoso.

At minute 19:18, you make a left turn to Edelweiss but the road sign to Grossglockner shows right (21km). I will travel this road in 2 weeks and I am wondering, should I make a left turn (like you do) or a right turn. Thank you 😁
First off, it depends on from which direction you come because you can start from Carinthia or Salzburg. Turning left at 19:18 brings you to the Edelweißspitze and is definitely a location worth checking out. Another main location is at the end of the video, the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, where you are next to the Großglockner and can even hike to the glacier (there isn't much left of it 😅). Generally I recommend bringing a comfortable wind jacket, and proper shoes, especially if you want to explore the area by foot. You can actually hike for hours and hours, there are many routes (you'd need to research which ones are beginner/family friendly). I'm bringing that up because many people treat the High Alpine Road as just being a road with a nice landscape that has nothing else to offer. Hiking to the glacier can be a bit scary/cumbersome, so I recommend having made hiking experiences over the years. Another thing to keep in mind is that the weather is hard to predict over longer periods. So you can't say "the weather will be nice in 1 week". You should always plan 2-3 days in which you could hypothetically ride this road and choose the day with the best forecast. If you have a strict schedule and no flexibility, there is a good chance you don't have the best weather. In worst case, it's cloudy and foggy everywhere and you don't see any landscape. The weather in this video is pretty much the best you can possibly have, so be prepared that the weather and landscapes may be worse if you're not lucky. What you can always do is checking out webcams of the road. For example, google "Edelweißspitze webcam" and then you get a good idea whether the previous days had good weather or not. Regarding the duration of this road ride, it can take 1 hour or 6 hours, depending on what you do. If you make a lot of stops to take pictures, eat (someone has to to order "Kaiserschmarrn") and hike, it easily takes 4+ hours. If you just rush through the road with very few stops, you'll be done in less than 2 hours. I'd say consider this road like eating good food. Consider this analogy: You don't want to eat good food as quickly as possible, because then you barely live the experience. Eat the food with respect and passion and then it will be perfect. A similarly logic applies to riding this road, and everything in life I guess. PS: I recommend getting your car checked if you come with your own. You don't want any bad surprises on that road.
hey @marius1229 you should enter that road as well, It is the highest place drivable there, stunning view for sure. Just drive up and down, you can stop at the top, as you can see on the video. I hope you have a nice trip there as well!

For sure!
The road most certainly doesnt do it any good
Can't take you seriously seeing a highway running right through the valley...
Judging from the age succession of the trees at the beginning of the video this area was logged about 40-50 years ago.
lol there is basically zero wildlife remaining here due to human activity
The views are absolutely stunning, it felt like i was travelling with you. Thank you!

Großglockner is a mountain not a city.
We have nothing in the U.S that compares to the beauty of this ride. I couldnt be more jealous.
You need to come out here to visit us in Colorado if you've never seen anything like this in the US
You need to get out of the house first.
Haven't been to hawaii ha

The WORLD is so BEAUTIFUL...sad with those greedy leaders who wants war and trying to destroy our planet😔😔😔
Great!
beautiful
Thank you!
Very nice/ Saudi Arabia
Thanks and welcome
Awesome video! Where do you attach the camera? Seems like it is outside the car to get such a clear picture.
So... it is possible to build roads that are flat and smooth without cracks and potholes. I KNEW it was possible.
Building them that way is the easy part. *Keeping* them that way is what's difficult
For sure! This road stays closed in the winter, it closes in November and opens in May.
Thanks for Watching!
Next NFS mountain chase theme .
Fure sure :D
Thanks for watching!
Nice video can you tell me from which 2 cities these magnificent roads connected in Austria
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just look at the video description, you'll find the maps and route.

What car or bike did you use during that drive? Because my car had quite some fighting with the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße
