I can't understand why The Police's discography are still so underrated!!!, the deserve a full deluxe box set
I paid extra to get the Japan Edition that comes in SHM-CD format only. Includes description and lyric translation booklet. The CDs are in protective inner sleeves and the CDs themselves have art detail per the vinyl/original era. At the moment GBP 28.28 before postage and packaging. Under $90 for me here in New Zealand. 'Synchronicity' never sounded so good...

Mine is arriving on Saturday as a post Christmas gift to myself. Lol. People quick to toss out their CD’s these days forget how amazing a format it is. Nothing sounds better on the car stereo than a great remastered CD!
I'm a bit surprised the CD version didn't add in any new material to the bonus disc, given that the latter seems to be meant as a rarities collection; not even "Fall Out" is on there, and you'd think that'd be essential for a comprehensive studio rarities compilation.
As for the lack of inner sleeves, I've seen an unboxing video of this set's Japanese release, and that one includes the same rice paper sleeves as the 30th anniversary mini-LP box and the Bowie box sets from 2015-2018. I'm guessing most labels in the west simply don't want to pay the added cost of including those sleeves.
I got the Vinyl edition on Friday. Might pick up this version at some point for my car.
Great set. Just bought it on Amazon. Even though I have Message In A Box from 1993. It's a pity there is no booklet, just like the Van Halen box set! Grrrrr! I love Ghost In The Machine and it has some serious drum sounds on it. Shambelle is a superb B-Side by Andy Summers. The original labels is cool too. The B-Sides is lame alright. The Japanese box is cool but the cover being from Regatta de Blanc is a bit strange!
The Japanese release does it right, showing respect for the product and the customer, by housing the disc in a protective inner sleeve!
Why aren't all CD releases done in this way?
I have a feeling a Japanese set of this would be significantly more than the £9.99 this is in the UK.

How different is this to the older Message In A Box from some years ago?
This one takes the more modern approach of simply including the albums as they were originally presented alongside a disc of bonus material; Message in a Box is more akin to the "Heart and Soul" Joy Division compilation and the "Peel Slowly and See" Velvet Underground compilation in that each CD contains not only the studio album, but also all the associated material from that era as bonus tracks.

@@FailedMuso Yes. If you're not a stickler about listening to the albums as they were originally presented and don't mind the lengths of each disc, it should be a preferable option. From the looks of it the Every Move You Make set is more a quick and (relatively) cheap way to get the whole studio album backlog of the band on Compact Disc.

Mixed feelings on this set. On the one hand it's a bargain, and getting all the albums in a neat set is a great deal. On the other, as someone that likes the mini LP recreations, I can't help getting a little frustrated with how these things are handled over here. I don't want gatefold CD cases when the LP's weren't gatefold - save the card, make the outer sleeves a little larger, and include the inner sleeves - it isn't that hard, and I can't imagine it would cost much more.
There's also an inconsistency when collecting these sets which is frustrating, where in some you just have slipcovers with no inserts or gatefolds (Sky, Van Halen, David Cassidy), in others slipcovers and inserts and maybe a gatefold - usually with thicker card (Bee Gees, Tim Buckley, America), and some which sort of try and recreate mini LP's but with tweaks (Dire Straits), and some that are authentic mini LP's (Springsteen). Then you get a set like this where they've sort of tired to recreate the LP's, but none of them were originally gatefold and the inner sleeves are printed on the inside of the 'new' gatefolds. Very confusing!

Hey Paul, Do you they think these will get individual releases? Those cardboard sleeves damage CDs easily.
