    Wow you made me cry 😭 you gratitude towards Malaysians are heartwarming. Thank you for always supporting our local foods and trying new ones. Next time maybe you can come to Melaka as inter-state travel is allowed now. Come try the uniqueness of Melaka, the Baba Nyonya Heritage, the Portuguese settlement, the Asam Pedas... and many more!

    Malaysia is food heaven…if you like noodle, you can try Chinese style Pan Mee…you can try at Go Noodle restaurant, they have dry or soup version, spicy or non spicy…available in most shopping malls and you can enjoy in air conditioned restaurant…👍

      Malaysians hate to leave thier guest with empty stomach. Even though sometimes the guest dont wanna the owner of the place to cook for them. The owner will at least make some tea or coffee to serve to thier guest.

    Through this video I feel the enthusiasm of living in Malaysia especially Koreans and Japaneses. I have many friends ,simply ex colleagues and when they work and stay here, they never want to go back to their country because of the slow pace and less tension of lifestyle and many good and cheap foods here…

    You are blending well with the locals from a video to a video. And yes, Malaysians could just simply treat a stranger for food. Usually they have no other intentions. Just out of generousity, especially if you are a foreigner and you also bring yourself well among them. Keep up providing us with yout great video KAZ while in Malaysia..🥰

    You can also try curry laksa, wan tan mee, hokkien mee, wa tan hor, pork noodle…so many to choose from, u can try different one each day 👍

    4:42 That is actually fried shallots, after deep fried, we keep both the shallots and oil. They can be used to enchant the food flavor :)
    Yes, that vege is 空心菜。In malay it calls kangkung.

      @@kazinkl you should prepare a mini portable fan, it's very useful especially in Malaysia's hot weather. I always bring mine everytime I'm eating at a place with no aircond 😆 I can't stand the hot weather while eating spicy food, I would be drenched in sweat 😂😂

    The green veggie is what we called kangkung.. If you go to any restaurant makesure to order "kangkung masak belacan" or kangkung cooked with belacan.. Reallyyyy umaaaaaiiii

    Whenever you come to Penang. Don't get confused. In many states, it's called prawn mee. In Penang, it's called Hokkien Mee. Prawn Mee is a totally different dish. While hokkien mee in KL is Penang's Hokkien Char. lol.

    I think KAZ is really realistic in term of his contents. He explore local food that eventually will help his fellow Japanese who live in Malaysia to looking for good local food that much cheaper than fast food or something like that.     chili boh is usually a mix of chili, onion and garlic.. the quantity of each, is usually depending on the dish or depending on the cook..

      @@kazinkl i think that is also possible there's tomato paste or ingredients in it. It is common for chilli boh to be the basic ingredients, then the cook will add in tomato paste and/or sometimes soy sauce or some other ingredients to their liking or based on the recipe they're using.. So yeah.. It is possible there's tomato inside it..

    Thank you for trying my recommendation😍 my second favourite food😂 next should be laksa sarawak. Btw.. i often heard you said umai which mean sedap/delicious. Did you know theres a food named umai too. 😂 Its a sarawakian food. My favourite is prawn umai.. 😋 so delicious.. eat with nasi panas. 😋

    The chilli is cooked with chilli boh, small onions pounded, a bit garlic if you want, belacan ie shrimp paste. Put oil in wok when it is hot & then add in all the ingredients to cook until fragrant. Mind the fire do not burn until the sambal chilli become black.

    Great to see you're enjoying the prawn noodles. It's ok to finish the soup/gravy especially when itis delicious. In Malay language we call it "kuah". But it is impolite to lift up the bowl and drink the soup directly. Instead, use the spoon until the end.🙏🙂

    Kaz, we have another dish actually where we mix this prawn mee soup with another thick dark soy braised soup. We call it loh cham ting in Hokkien dialect back in Penang. In KL, they refer it as yin yong ( Cantonese) its quite hard to get in KL as its origins from Penang. However, there's a stall in Taman Segar Perdana, Cheras (Breakfast Coffee Shop). You can chexk it out

    Yes I am staying in Happy Garden & the prawn mee stall is very nice & tasty if you dine in. Their curry laksa also not bad.

    Have you visited Kun Yum Thong Buddhist temple canteen?
    It is located between Citibank KL and Suria KLCC.
    Their vegetarian/vegan food is awesome!

    For foreigners/travelers, if you love seafood. Recommended to come to Sabah, seafood so cheap, low prices. You can eat 7kg squid, 7kg prawns,7kg crab just with Rm25 per person but you must finish it all

    if you think the soup taste less you add the chili to the soup and mix it, the flavor will become thick. the soup basically is the boil prawn shell maybe they add msg not sure.

    Many Japanese and Koreans loves Malaysia after thay stay, they are reluctant to go home. Because Best Food varieties, Very economic low cost to stay here. Generally a lot of foreigners like to stay here.

    Usually we will yellow noodle mix mee hoon for noodle soup.. Will be taste nicer compare to yellow noodle mix kuey teow.. Kuey teow will only for fried kuey teow or kuey teow clear soup...

    Legend has it that during the Japanese Occupation, Fujian fishermen were only allowed to sell their catch to the occupation forces in China. What was left in their nets were prawn heads and shells. The locals made a broth with this and the rest is history.
