The reason may not even be related to the decomposition alert from the dogs. The Church of Scientology probably doesn’t want the police searching any members’ houses. Despite numerous leaks, they still have a lot of secrets. But it’s most likely the bodies of one of their missing members. ;)

It always fascinates me that you can watch a dozen videos on one subject and learn something new from each one. I've researched the Jean Spangler case for a while and this was the first time I heard about her ex-husband appearing with scratches on his face and about his night-time boat trip.
Same. That's why I watch multiple shows about the same case. There's a lot of information to get across & every one's going to think different things r more important.
Stephanie you are honestly amazing. I don’t know how you manage to get all these incredibly detailed videos out in such a short period of time. You are my absolute favourite RUclipsr ❤️
From the get go and all the way to the finish I think dexter has the most motive. I enjoyed the Kirk Douglas Dr Scott & Black Dalia Killer theories but I think they’re too far fetched. Usually the simplest is the most likely scenario, which is that she was supposed to meet up with dexter as planned, but it went awry for her. I think he lied about meeting up, and the new wife covered for him for fear of the same happening to her. Cherry on top is that he stole his daughter, and jean’s mothers granddaughter from her for the rest of her life too. Not only did she lose her daughter to who knows who, but she lost her daughter to dexter and for that he’s unforgivable
Natalie Woods's daughter said that when Natalie was a young teen she was brutally raped by Kirk Douglas. He threatened her if she said anything about it and would ruin her career. Her mother told her not to say anything. However, it affected the rest of her life. She could not even be in a room with Kirk Douglas without shaking. He was a monster.
Gotta say, I really appreciate that sponsors help to keep this channel going. The way Stephanie presents info is amazing and she is definitely one of the best true crime story tellers I've come across.
Love you hair..I grew up in this area went to a Franklin High my first job was an Usherette at the Pantages Theatre I remember when Patton premiered ..now it’s all runner down..love the way you tell these old Vintage Crimes
I loathe the hypocrisy of regularly attending a nightclub, meeting a showgirl there, and marrying them but then looking down on the showgirls. They both were clueless about each others ambitions and crazy to get married.
The locations where Elisabeth Short and Jean Spangler were found/disappeared are merely 10 mins apart and Dr. Hodel's house in the middle. Her vindictive ex makes sense. But the note and its content, Dr. Hodel's house location, her handbag being found only about 2 mins from Dr. Hodel's house/abortion basement, Kirk Douglas's history all makes more sense. Her name wasn't going to be associated with any movies she was an extra with at that time. She probably was really working on a set with Kirk or had prior and they were seeing each other.
Thanks for the sponsorship spot! Just signed up for the free month to see how it is. I’ve gotten into some cool stuff from sponsorships on RUclips, idk why people get to salty about them. Keep up the good work!

I crochet plushies (amigurumi) and that takes me some days and I enjoy listening to your videos while crocheing. You are so fast at putting out videos! I just finished your 3 Shandra parts, and then the Juliet and Pauline parts... And am so glad that I saw you have a new video!
@@pommiebears I totally get you. I did learn it at school and sucked. But I discovered a couple of youtube channels who actually have really good tutorials and then I watched Sharon Ojala where she explained how to crochet an Amigurumi bear, and I was able to do it. I do think that it has a lot to do with practicing. And visually seeing her hands crocheing also made it easier for me to understand. When I made my first doll, I couldn't get the feet and legs right so after 20 minutes of trying it and still having the wrong amount of stitches... I screamed and threw the piece on the ground. So I do get you, the frustration is real. Thing is I watched a girl who had an accent that I just couldn't understand.... but I tried and was able to finish it. And over time I got to understand how it works and it feels "easier" to me.

Beautiful as always!! Spent my day talking about the Shanda story... still hurts my heart. Thanks for all your time and effort for all your videos. Capturing all the important aspects of a story.
great video Stephanie!!😁 I've researched this case heavily and I've come to the conclusion imo that the father was Kirk Douglas and indeed she was planning to get an abortion probably the next day or while her mother was away on her trip...but then that Night she disappeared she met with her Ex husband and were going to discuss missed child support payments and a fight ensued. Dexter killed her in a fit of rage, disposed of her, and threw her purse in that canyon. he didnt care what the contents were in her purse obviously. she had no money, her sister said she was broke and only had a silver dollar in her purse and it was still in there when the purse was found. I think Dexter really in his mind thought his daughter was better off without her mother sadly. I also think the reason she "waited" for up to 2 hours in the market bc she was waiting for Dexter, in anticipation she would receive that money she was owed for child support. she really needed that money.
I love when you do the vintage crime and mysteries, those are my absolute favorites on your channel. It is incredible how you fit in all the info from these cases with the minute details that are so important in a well-packaged synopsis. I was thinking that a good case to talk about would be Thelma Todd, a comedic actress in the 30's who acted in some Marx Brothers films and whose death was very mysterious and involves the LAPD's handling of it, or mishandling of it. Anyway, thank you for all the hard work you do, an entertaining and informative way to spend an evening, afternoon, morning, or anytime really,:)
I traveled alot when my daughter was little. When she was like 7 years old she had a doll she named little Nick my name is nick btw...I thought it was very flattering and loved the idea.

Oh yeah its been like 50 40 years 😫😱
Yes!!!!!
Yes
I'm sure Stephanie could find new details. The case is so sad and I hope it gets solved beyond a shadow of a doubt!
"Buckle up grab a snack and let's go to old Hollywood!" I love you steph!
Maybe in Laura Prepon's garden we can found Ms. Miscavige...
Mr M is a bad egg, as we say here. That's for damn sure.
Stephanie, I have just started watching but had to comment you look like you just stepped out of the big screen from old Hollywood. Stunning💙
It’s creeping me out how much she looked like Elizabeth short
That is a great observation. Maybe it was Hodell.
You look absolutely stunning today my love.
Timeless.
The earrings look so pretty xo
Okay now I need to focus. Xo
Rachel Elizabeth you’re allowed to compliment a pretty lady. I adore her natural hair (as a curly myself) so I want to squeeze her appearance myself.
@@heatherdoodles5504 I am very jealous. I'd love curly hair. Mine is very kinda boring and straight.. kinda just lays there lol .. I find curls beautiful. My daughter has super curly hair and I am soo envious.
Yes! The lipstick/shirt color combo suits her so well.
I love how you kind of dress up in the theme or style of the era sometimes ^^ it's that little nod that brings a smile to my face 🥰 Like this girl already gives 2000%, but this little detail is like the very cool icing on top of the cake. You're a doll Stephanie, keep on being awesome!
I noticed that too
Your commentary on the church of scientology made me giggle.
"A time when cops would look the other way in crimes involving celebrities..." As in all times?
Right? Ugh
Kirk Douglas really got around huh??? It's funny all the connections he has to traumatic situations.
Yup
And he went on to live for more than 100 years
@@monilaninetynine3811 The old saying, 'The Devil looks after his own'....
And no I'm not religious.

He was like the Clintons of his time
His poor wife.
Totally don't want to sound like an a$$ but the depression wasn't in the 1950's, it was actually in the 1930's. Love you - love your vids ❤️
I was thinking she meant a smaller depression after the war but the economy was booming post war so that's not correct either
I think she was saying that during the depression the authorities looked the other way when women were having abortions. People were out of work and couldn't feed the family they had.
I came to the comments looking to see if anyone else caught that, too haha. I was getting confused at that part until I figured she was just mixed up her dates. Whatever the case, I love this channel, Stephanie tells great stories
Omg you are just DELIVERING lately! 😍
Stephanie, the way your words vividly paint a picture of the story you’re telling makes my imagination run wild. You’re so entertaining :)
Very interesting!! I like the Black Dahlia killer theory personally
Me too, but I think the ex husband did it.
reenacting that scene in the hat w the filter i'm losing my mind HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Can't wait for Harloween videos! Few more months to go 🙂
2 months 😁 😁 😁
omg it feels as if harloween 2019 wasn't too long ago... this year has been messing with my head, i seem to have no concept of time haha.
I. Can’t. Wait!
@@miri6220 had the same thought lol
Just found your channel and this is the best coverage of this case ! Been fascinated with Jeans disappearance for years , subbed
This case is very interesting! I still cant imagine someone vanishing and not being found ever again. The way you explain everything makes me want to listen to more keep it up!!
42:43 "The cult, I mean Religion..." One of the many reasons Stephanie is a boss.
25:36 Robert Stack as in the original Unsolved Mysteries host???
Yes.
Katie Trimue always
I just heard that part and was about to comment!!
The one and only, that's him.
Justin Root brought that out in his Jean Spangler videos as well.
Stephanie you are honestly amazing. I don’t know how you manage to get all these incredibly detailed videos out in such a short period of time. You are my absolute favourite RUclipsr ❤️
So happy when I saw you posted!!
And that monster is still alive
No he is dead
You should watch Stephanie's videos on Natalie Wood
your look today is so regal. i love the curls, and i adore those earrings. 💙🤍💙🤍💙
Omg that’s really cool! I bet you have a lot of cool Hollywood stories!
I loathe the hypocrisy of regularly attending a nightclub, meeting a showgirl there, and marrying them but then looking down on the showgirls. They both were clueless about each others ambitions and crazy to get married.
Thank you for the 57:32 minutes of distraction and entertainment that doesn’t just numb my brain.
This was a great video thanks
You’re spoiling us Stephanie. Another vintage mystery so soon after a four part series. :)
Let me know what you start watching!
I have function of beauty and native. She said you would love smelling yourself with the function of beauty. She was right! I don’t think I can ever go back to other products. I also got Magellan
I don’t get the opposition either. FOB is luxurious!
Stephanie Harlowe Okay so first thing I saw when I opened it was Tudor documentaries... I’m a history buff (much like you) so I jumped on the private lives of the tudors, obviously, ‘cause I love Tudor history. Then I saw all the British history docs they have as well... omg I’m in love!
Teresa Howick ohhh I’ve heard of this from several different people and have thought about trying it myself, I think I’ll have to
This Video was so well put together! I love the amount of care and detail you put into the case but also while having respect and empathy for the people in these cases. Love listening to you and love your editing
My suspicions drive me to believe that Dexter did it! She did have an affair while he was off fighting, so there’s a motive, revenge/punishment. Thank u Stephanie for another great video❤️
It's absolutely disgusting how women were treated, they were so powerless.
*are
1stepcl0ser speak for yourself. I’m definitely not powerless. In fact, it’s people SAYING that who disenfranchise women to be what they want to be, do what they want to do. I’m not a victim.
@@pommiebears lmfao it's easy to say that until you literally become a victim of abuse but o fucking k
@@pommiebears A lot of women are, hence that person's comment. But good for you.
Have you seen the murder rates for women in the UK and France? It's like a femicide, and I imagine it's similar in many other countries.
Stephanie, every time I see you I think "wow, she looks so beautiful today!" That is to say, you are just simply gorgeous!
My mum’s auntie was a Homicide police woman that was on crime scene when they found the dahlia, and worked undercover to try to reveal who murdered Beth, she was abruptly relieved of the case and she believed her death was mafia-political related as much as personal.
I’d love to hear more of this. Fascinating. Do you have any more on your great aunt?
I feel like I zoned out for 5 mins and the story changed from this woman to something about the cast of that 70’s show and scientology 😂 I’m gonna have to re-watch this one I think..
I do that too because my kids keep interrupting me
Haha I did the exact same thing. Hang in there. It comes back.
Don’t blink
I am so lost right now.... Need a do-over. Love the curls and the earrings.
Only Stephanie Harlowe can tell a horrifying story in such a great way. Every morning I get up before everyone else, make a latte, sit on my couch and listen to Stephanie’s videos while staring out the window.
This was all fine and dandy until I heard the story of the six year old girl. I’m in my chicago apartment on Hollywood.... welp. Creepy
Okayyyyy Steph rocking your curls for the second video in a row!! Love it 😍❤️
I just discoverd your channel and I'm addicted now. Your video's are so interesting! You have a lot of talent. Thank you so much! :)
Thank you for being here!
You’ve got some hot Desperate Housewives energy in that outfit today lady!!! 🔥
I like the curly hair too.
i pray i age as well as her lmao
ever since i have found your channel i have NOT stopped binge watching all your videos (i’m almost done) - you are by far the most talented true crime youtuber i have come across - thank you for the hours of entertainment you’ve given us!!! much love to you and your family !!!
The hair? The makeup? The fit? The amazing content? Gorgeous.
I absolutely love how detailed your videos are! I've watched cases covered by other people and when I watch yours, I get so much more details surrounding the case. Love ya! 🌸💖
i saw the earrings and thought oooh did analuisa sponsor this, love seeing creators genuinely enjoying their sponsored products 😍

I literally just finished the 3 part Susan Powell videos (for the 2nd time), and then this popped up 😍
Loving that 1940s/50s look you got going on there Stephanie 👌🏾
I’m curious has anyone or anyones family ever came at you for the “alleged” facts? Love you Stephanie and the video!
😂😂😂 stephanie acting put the cop/Kirk conversation. My son just had a diaper explosion, and I needed a good laugh 😂😂
I see your comments on so many videos, here and on Kendall’s page. You are my fellow true crime mama! Gotta laugh at those poop explosions..I’ve had so many with my son in this last year 😂
@@CM-wf2uo lol same. It's sad what you get used to 😂
Laura Prepon is the worst :( I feel so bad for Steve Hodel. I’ve seen his documentaries. He dedicated his entire life to these investigations trying to bring justice to the victims of his father. So much respect to this man!
As a fellow curly haired girl, I’m loving the curls!! 💖
I’ve heard this story before but you always add such depth
Jimmy The Weasel, sounds like a trustworthy kinda guy!
Oh Stephanie! I SO love Magellan TV. Just signed up last month on your recommendation. I help five moms homeschool their kids year round (online right now because of the virus) and I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. Doing Geology right now. Excellent docs on hurricanes, tsunamis, etc!!! THANK YOU!
Your hair and whole outfit looks like it’s from this era, i love it!
You're such an amazing researcher! I learned so many details that I didn't know.
I've always thought Kirk Douglas had something to do with this. However, you always find the secrets I've never heard, so I look forward to the new evidence.
subscribed for the different take you presented from the very beginning. You actually started AT the beginning. Bravo!
I crochet plushies (amigurumi) and that takes me some days and I enjoy listening to your videos while crocheing.
You are so fast at putting out videos! I just finished your 3 Shandra parts, and then the Juliet and Pauline parts... And am so glad that I saw you have a new video!
I like to listen and crochet too! Listenign while doing a jigsaw puzzle today, though.
Peachy Heartthrob I tried to crochet. Do you think I could do it? Nope, lol. I think I was born all thumbs. 👍🏽😂
Fantastic job. Great information tying in so many people. Well done!🇨🇦
Wow- Jean Spangler was a looker. I'm shocked I've never heard of this story.
She certainly has the "looks" to make it in the Golden Era of Hollywoodland.
Thanks for your hard work to keep us all entertained while teaching us something at the same time! Much appreciated.
Beautiful as always!! Spent my day talking about the Shanda story... still hurts my heart. Thanks for all your time and effort for all your videos. Capturing all the important aspects of a story.
I’m digging the old Hollywood look you’re rocking today ❤️
I love how curly your hair is!!! Also, thanks for the very interesting case and info you dug up. Great presentation as always 💕
great video Stephanie!!😁 I've researched this case heavily and I've come to the conclusion imo that the father was Kirk Douglas and indeed she was planning to get an abortion probably the next day or while her mother was away on her trip...but then that Night she disappeared she met with her Ex husband and were going to discuss missed child support payments and a fight ensued.
Your one of the handful of channel's that I actually happily sit through watching the commercial's for.
I’m loving the curls! We miss your coffee and crime but I’m still gonna make coffee for this one.😍
I've been watching for a while and I don't think I've ever commented. I have to say you are the best reporter/story teller I've heard up to this point in the world of RUclips true crime. I love the attention to detail you give to every case.
