The Junkers Ju 86 was a German monoplane bomber and civilian airliner designed in the early 1930s, and employed by both sides during World War II. The civilian model Ju 86B could carry 10 passengers. Two were delivered to Swissair and five to Luft Hansa. In addition a single civilian Ju 86Z was delivered to the Swedish AB Aerotransport. Its entertaining watching this film knowing how little the Ju86 was actually used.

Jeez, the Germans make all their war songs sound like Oktoberfest.

If there was such a thing as an "Art Deco Bomber", it would have to be the JU-86.

Most German medium bombers of WW2 were based on low capacity passenger airplanes/postal airplanes. Me 110 was a airpost plane, just as Dornier nr. ?17 called "the flying pencil ". Very thin tails, they only carried bags of paper...💪💌📄📰📃

This plane could fly at amazing altitudes for photo reconnaissance. Oh it was a good plane for photo reconnaissance took a long time for the RAF to get too grips with the altitudes it flew at. Finally tune up Spitfires striped down too the `bare essentials` got to the same altitude. One of the first high altitude intercepts was of a spitfire intercepting one over Plymouth at OVER 43,000 ft spitfire slewing all about at that altitude firing its 2x20mm cannon. The ju 86 was a real high flyer.

Its as good as the british Wellington. For its time (1930s) it was excellent.

Yes those are Junkers opposed stroke piston Diesel engine, very effective and complex, 2 Stroke direct injected and turbo charged in their last stage, even good for submarines.

❄GOOBELDYGOOK❄ This is how youtube works. You watch videos and comment on them. If you like the content of a channel you usually subscribe. I wouldn't generally call it 'creepy'. In fact I can't think of another reason to subscribe to a channel other than liking the content.

UKscalemodeller: Hope you found a model of it -- if I recall correctly, some came with decals and painting instructions for the German Luftwaffe and the Royal Swedish Air Force, the latter having purchased Ju-86's in the 1930's prior to the outbreak of the Second World War. Would make a nice addition to a model collection for one into the lesser known aircraft of that era.
