One big disappointment I have with recent Mario games is the lack of a hub area and it was at its worst in the last 2 mainline entries I really hope they address this in their next game.
@@n3rfpho3nix16 Have you read the "recent" part of my comment, the reason why the newer mario games lack of good hub world is dissapointing is because mario 64 and sunshine had incredible hub worlds and even galaxy 1 had a very solid hub world aswell.
I think I can safely say this after playing both. Astro Bot is better. Graphically and gameplay wise. I’m not saying this to upset Nintendo fans, it’s been 7 years since Odyssey came out. I would seriously hope that someone would improve on the 3d platforming genre in that amount of time.
Definitely not gameplay or platforming-wise, though. The gameplay and platforming of Odyssey is more creative, free, and the controls feel less stiff; there’s more mobility and it’s more natural. Mario has more maneuvers and the captures are amazing. Beyond that, there’s more to do in Odyssey (especially post-game), it’s longer, and has some challenging levels thrown in there. However, the graphics of Astro Bot are *stunning* and more attractive to the eye, for sure. There’s also a better “structure”; the progression system is better, it feels better-paced, and of course there’s great collectibles hidden throughout the game (and they don’t feel like useless collectibles, either. They feel like more exciting and rewarding. You want to get the collectibles more in that game than many other games). One could argue the level design is a little better, too. There’s no doubt Astro Bot is a more “casual” game than Odyssey.I personally believe Odyssey is the stronger game, but of course Astro Bot is phenomenal GOTY material.
*Both are FANTASTIC games. But plagiarizing a product so that it is nearly a reskin sounds risky. But I am happy to see a new adventure game on the Sony platform. I LOVE Little Big Planet and Sackboy.*
Astro Bot is NOT plagiarizing! If it were plagiarizing, Astro Bot would have a triple jump, a cap-ture ability, and the levels would be identical to the ones in Odyssey, for which all of them are NOT! Every single platformer has a unique charm to it that makes them work away from what they are influenced by.

For me, Astro Bot is the Mario Odyssey of PlayStation.
Odyssey's drownwing animation feels lame when comparing to SM64.
The final drowning animation in Odyssey definitely seems a bit lame, though the old drowning animation that was cut before release was definitely on a similar level of 64's.
@@nm5329i remember it
I think they did it to make it less disturbing.
MARIO
Playstation A : whats plan??
Playstation B : just see from nitendo😂😂
Been a Mario fan since NES. Playing Astro Bot now. Love both games.. I am having more fun now playing AB
Super Mario Odyssey + Super Mario Galaxies + Ps5 = Astro Bot
+Mario sunshine
+Mario 64
+kirbys forgotten land
Nintendo needs to release 2 of each game per console
Mario Odyssey 1-2
Zelda 1-2
Kirby, dk 1-2
One big disappointment I have with recent Mario games is the lack of a hub area and it was at its worst in the last 2 mainline entries I really hope they address this in their next game.
did you not play long enough to get to peaches castle?
@@n3rfpho3nix16 Have you read the "recent" part of my comment, the reason why the newer mario games lack of good hub world is dissapointing is because mario 64 and sunshine had incredible hub worlds and even galaxy 1 had a very solid hub world aswell.

Super Mario Odyssey vs Kirby And The Forgotten Land vs Astro Bot
I see what they’re saying when they say game of the year… Astro bot looks amazing
I think Mario Odyssey looks better. Has stronger art direction.
I never cared for technical graphics.
Both games are great in their own console
Why did sony abandon little big planet and sack boy? They need to make a resurgence. I love those games.
Oh boy, I bet the comments section is gonna be wild here.
Drowning 🗿
Even if Astrobot stole ideas from Nintendo games, I don't want single player games and 3D platform genre to die or decrease.
Astro Bot isn’t even better than Mario 3D World 😂
I swear what’s throwing me off about Astro is the hyperbole around it lmao
@@56ty_ What "hyperbole" mean?
@@Patrick.Pulchera it’s when people make absolute or big claims like ‘this is the best platformer ever’ or ‘this game revolutionized gaming’
0:50 no shit he can't drown he's a robot
*Both are FANTASTIC games. But plagiarizing a product so that it is nearly a reskin sounds risky. But I am happy to see a new adventure game on the Sony platform. I LOVE Little Big Planet and Sackboy.*
Astro Bot is NOT plagiarizing! If it were plagiarizing, Astro Bot would have a triple jump, a cap-ture ability, and the levels would be identical to the ones in Odyssey, for which all of them are NOT! Every single platformer has a unique charm to it that makes them work away from what they are influenced by.
They are both very similar
Mario And EVE (WALL-E)
Mario dying in quicksand is quite disturbing ngl
Astrobot se ve genial, gran trabajo de sony, posiblemente el mejor juego de ps5
Uhh i Mean...astro bot doesn't have much competition on PS5 :/
He can't drown 😂💪
Astro bot has not drown by swimming
NINTENDO AND PLAYSTATION
I don’t know how this is an actual comparison? Both games have good details let’s just leave it at that.
SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY ON TOP NO DIFF
Astro Bot is a win for all gamers. As a Nintendo fan we need to be happy when any studio makes quality games. Team Asobi took good notes. Now Nintendo you are up to wow us with the Switch 2.
I just hope their next system is powerful and takes graphics more seriously
Why did astro bot play a game in Idle Animation What is he playing?
I try not to copy bros homework
I dnt care about physics shit and graphics all what i care about is a good fun to play
I still play old games. Sonic adventure 2 is still fun with good music and visuals.

All ps4/5 games are on pc?
So pay 700$ to play this game only?
i get what your saying but the ps5 is going to be the gta vi machine casuals will eat that up i dont think theyll get a ps5 pro becuse they want to play gta vi but we have to see if the rumors of gta vi being higher in price is true there rumors caliming theyll sell it at 150$ which will be bad for the gamer but the casuals will buy it any way but hopfully it isnt true
@@billyrizer there is also Xbox s it not a Sony exclusive, there is a PC release later.
and not everyone likes that gipsy simulator 6.
you are going to the same game. i didnt play much of 4 and 5 because of 1 reason i felt nothing deferent compared to 3, VC and SA, there are some improvements but its the same game.
steal, drive, shot, die, repeat.
for me its not a reason to pay this price for ps5.
sony lost the value of its consoles, all sony games are no pc now, why buy sony ?
@@Rayu25Demon i agree with you and i know its on the xbox and its going to realesed on pc later on the reason why i mention ps5 as gta machine its becuse the play station brand is more popluer then xbox and xbox is popluer mostly in the us casuals wont game on pc either these people mostly play fifa madden gta or cod and pc gamers have ohter games to play and xbox got their gamepass i mean i even wonder how the ps5 sold 60 million units and if you see the softwere sales of the console arent many huge sellers which could mean ehiter people buy the ps5 for gta vi or sony is lieing about their hardwere sales or people buy it to expact games for the sysytem but we will see what will happen
why not ab vs smo vs sb
mario was good, but uneven game, some levels felt emtpy, not very fun, and the moons were all over the place. new york world felt the most finished level for sure. cant wait for the 3d new maro for switch 2.

@@the13thjoker imo both are just as amazing as the other. I feel like rather than trying to decide which is “better”, people should celebrate both of these games for the amazing pieces of media they are.
Odyssey is 7 year old game, and also it’s still better than Astro Bot though Sony did do a good job cloning the Mario Galaxy games.
Yes, im see
Comparison with galaxy...
Odyssey is one thing, but Galaxy is easily the greatest 3D platformer

both games look very good by their own merits, Odyssey was very impressive considering the fact is just a slightly more powerful wii u made portable. these kind of games will hold up well even after many years pass. i would like to see Astrobot come to PC that way it doesn't get left behind on the ps5 when new consoles come, much like several other games on older consoles.

Try odyssey speedrunning then

2 amazing game 👍🏻❤️
What if this astro boy made by china company? Comment still positive? 😂😂😂
It would run on a 16-bit sunplus processor based device and not be anywhere near as good.
Odyssey was my first ever Mario game that i played for more than an hour. So it has a LOT of novelty for me... that I later found out it kind of standard for the franchise 😂😂 still a fantastic game. & Im glad Astro bot exists too now 🎉
Want ps5 astro bot
... im dont gnow
Odyssey ended
Team astrbot
:v
I play Mario games with my kid, and I just played Astrobot. Aaand there is a fair share of borrowed ideas in Astrobot, but as a PS games fan since PS1 I found of course this game much more close to my infance, the actual playable Kratos-y bot, Rachet-y bot, that Nathan-y leve with guns, well it was a charm and only has true significance to PS players. So for all similitudes, it has its own charm.
Every masterpiece has an inferior imitation
Astrobot dualsense features are what sets it apart, they make the game so much better
Clony
Mario Odyssey last longer so it wins.
Astro details are bigger but the cactus trick is in Astro too
should have compared to mario galaxy, as that is what astrobot is
That’d be kinda unfair because Galaxy is better than both of these games

Both are good games, but Odyssey felt like a bit of a chore toward the end, and I didnt really look forward to playing it. It was the first 3D mario game I didnt 100%.
Astro is an absolute joy from start to finish, and I cant wait for the DLC.
The only Mario game that rivals it is Galaxy.
1 - Mario Galaxy 1 and 2
2 - Mario Odyssey
3 - Mario 64
4 - Mario Sunshine
5 - Mario 3D World
6 - Super Lucky Tale
7 - Astro Bot
mario sunshine was actually kind of bad, not because of gameplay but because of the shitty ass physics it had, I swear its more of a rage game than a platformer
