    Regardless of how calm you appeared during the glue-up, I still felt my heart rate and BP rise as you began to apply the first bit of glue! As always, stunning workmanship and attention to detail. Your videos just get better and better - I never want them to end. Thank you for posting such interesting, educational and inspiring content.

    You are the first one since 8th grade wood shop (1957) that correctly identified the PILOT hole....ty with the hole that the screw threads go into is properly called the anchor hole if drilled in advance. Onward

    Glue ups don't stress me out nearly as much now... but that one would have me losing several pounds in sweat alone before the first clamp came out 😅 Well played 👏👏👏

    Filming during a glue up would be even more challenging. Setting up your clamps and your camera before hand so you don't have to stop and re adjust the camera angle and doubling the potential hazards. Glad to see it all went so well. Beautiful result.

    Great to watch. Was just wondering whether you ever write "secret" messages on the insides of joints, knowing that they'll never be seen again ? Or perhaps on the outside edges of the frame, where they'll be fixed to the building, and may be seen again ?

    Hi ya, it's a shame Amazon are showing the glue as out of stock and no idea when or if it will be restocked.
    If I can find it elsewhere what is the spray release you are using for clean up?
    The frame looks great, it's close to the size of a sash window I made years ago, it was Victorian - Narrow Mullion style with all the sashes weighted on the outer sash boxes.
    Love watching your work. Keep the videos coming.

    Thanks for the link to the Polyurethane Glue, but what is the spray? Does it soften the glue? What role does it play?

    • @_nacnud_
      @_nacnud_ 6 месяцев назад

      It's IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) cleaner. It does a great job of removing the excess foaming you get with PU wood adhesives. Once they set they are a nightmare to clean off from corners and rebates etc. It's one of the many great tips I've picked up from Oliver. He seems to use the aerosol type cans but as with all products of that nature they tend not to be great value. I always have bulk bottles of Iso in my workshop as it's handy for many things (hence why his tip was even more welcome!) so I just use that in a regular trigger sprayer 👍🏻

      I use it if I need a bit more time gluing up complex doors or windows. It’s white in colour and reminds me of Cascamite. Also it doesn’t foam up as much as some of the pu glues on the market. Thanks

    T section sash clamps. Did you put packers to hold the section square? I have rectangular sash clamps that fit square to each other and I bolt them flat. Good approach to your work.

      no they generally pull decent when the pressure is on just leave the nut loose so they can sit level
