Really great tutorial. I felt so relaxed watching you paint. I have difficulty with over detailing and this really helped me. I really love to go in a do every leaf, but in the end it really takes a lot away from the whole painting. Thanks so much.
its ok it happens. at my work i gotta do stuff so detailed that stops looking atractive imo.. but if its gonna be printed in a big size then is really necesary.
sir, you are awesome, I love your work. I would like to request you to make more magical forests with a different scenario and from the different parts of the world. Thank you sir for everything you had done for us. May nature bless you. Love from Bharat.
Fantastic video and painting. I love the idea of using a tunnel grid for this environment, instead of simply a top and bottom grid. I will try this. Thank you.
wow.can u please tell me how did you put the perspective grid in the beginning and how did you understood lighting in so many different shapes in different areas?
Muchísimas gracias por este vídeo! Siempre tengo mucho miedo de hacer landscapes porque me cuesta mucho comprender el color, pero con este tutorial seeguro que mejoro poco a poco! Mil gracias y mucho ánimo!
If you have a flat, squared grid pattern # (can probably find them on google) import that into any scene you want, duplicate it so you have 4 (making up ceiling, floor and walls), then skew each one with the transform tool Ctrl-T to get the view you want. Make sure to align the edges of each duplicate.
Ahhh this video was so helpful, I love the vanishing point grid idea I can't believe I've never thought of it! Beautiful work btw I love the light on the water :D I can never get it right!
Thanx for explanations! :) Sometimes it is complete mystery for such a beginner like me to figer out how to paint an image from imagination. I usually try to cope from photos. Thats my limits so far. Keep on!
i dont recomend it you can really hurt your hand, also you will have to learn from 0 again once you have a tablet. so get a tablet soon. i recomend a cheap used one. then in few years buy a new one if you like it.
how do you paint a scifi space with spaceship and planets, would you paint everything in greyscale first or directly paint it with color?. how do you merge layers without deleting the layer masks when you have multiple things to select is it good to merge everything and do the selections all the time or just add temp layers and erase what you dont need?
i love these videos of yours, i do have a question for you, and that is have you tried using krita or fire alpaca? if so what do you think about them vs photoshop?
they are good.. but. photoshop is the industry standart.. so. thats prefered if you ever want to work on this. is not like you wont get works with the others but... its like...for example, youtube vs other video pages... youtube just crushes them all.... others are good... but this is the king... long time ago. there was a huge battle between corel painter and photoshop.

nice enviroment. You have probably awnsered this question before, but where can I get those perspective grids? Maybe for your next enviroment do something fantasy like? A desert turning into crystals or a massive mealstrom with a flying rock inside it with vegitation and birds on it?
Oh awesome I use the Huion 1060 PLUS and I just got it. I am very new to this whole thing and its pretty hard to use. There is a definite learning curve to these graphics tablets. Do you have any tips?
make sure to calibrate it over and over until the mouse pointer is where you expect it to be. Once you do that, find the pen setting in your drawing software and see what feels right. Practice and watch tutorials and speed paints. You will slowly get the technique. It is much harder(for me) to shade things digitally than on paper. Use as many references as possible. after a while of experimenting with brushes, you will start understanding everything. Once that happens, you will start making beautiful art pieces. Good Luck!
it took me week to adjust to the pen. Technique however, takes months. But it is so much fun. Btw I am not at the good point yet. Im at the too much detail/ not enough detail faze

Very nice! I can't say I've ever seen someone use so many layers. Do you have a specific reason for this? I've never used more than five to ten well-defined layers for foreground to background transitions. My guess is that having 50+ layers makes it very hard to go back and change anything, because you don't know what belongs to each layer.

man... u skipped the most important and hard part of the whole painting process.... 5:07 to 5:09 ... the rest of the whole video isnt even half as hard as these 2 seconds... :/ good painting though
This looks *unreally* real
thank you Kai!

bueno pero si usas referencias se hace mas facil poco a poco.. hacerlo de memoria es cuando es dificil.
Really amazing man, i have a question :
Where you got the vanishing point reference that you use in the tutorial
It's probably a feature of photoshop. Or maybe using the 3d effects to make a box in perspective then give it a wireframe effect.
If you have a flat, squared grid pattern # (can probably find them on google) import that into any scene you want, duplicate it so you have 4 (making up ceiling, floor and walls), then skew each one with the transform tool Ctrl-T to get the view you want. hey guys. nope. my photoshop is too old.
i made that one using 3d max. you can use mine from my file on gumroad!

hey guys whats up! i made it on 3dsmax =) you can download it in gumroad. take it from the psd is free!
