Have you ever gone back to a show for something?
It drives my wife nuts everytime 😂
Yep. 3 or 4 times😂
Yes. I turned around for a Nintendo 64 Power Glove for $50 bucks. Got about a mile away and turned around.
Yes I left my coat there....lol
Spencer is such an awesome kid, I was so impressed by how carefully he was digging through the bins, gently placing the action figures one by one. Dan and Stina are superb parents clearly. It's such a joy listening to Dan chat to Spencer about toys and his passion that mirrors Dan's.
I'm loving the Saturday hunts.
I will never tire of seeing vintage Star Wars figures, and those card backs.
Classic Dad and son moments with Spencer. LOVE it
I love the power of the force 90s figs..Been collecting them for a few years now.
Been wanting to pull the trigger and buy a teddy Ruxpin.
Too much nostalgia there. One of my favorite things as a kid
Those Street Sharks prices are very reasonable.
I have a rule, if you see something at a convention that has you thinking.. get it, because it’ll be gone when you go back for it
My rule only buy what I really like and I can display.
That sounds like an expensive rule
@@elcowabungahe-man6156 Me too
Yep, I did a walk thru years ago just to see what was being sold and who was there and saw a Trapjaw classics for $35 and said I'm coming back for that and so on trip back I watched as it was bought by someone else😢, but found a bunch of other figs. Yeah it was that early on and prices were cheaper. Back when the Columbus Toy show was at Vets memorial but now it's at the state fair grounds.
A Toy hunting family ? What a dream. Thanks Dan. Appreciate your videos as always.
Dream? My wife goes with me all the time.
Nice... I am from Springfield, IL too. I was at that con and even bought some of those $5 Power of the Force figs. Woo woot
That McDonald's Fisher Price set is amazing. I completely understand regretting not getting it right away. My dad has told me that my youngest uncle on his side of the family had one as a kid. I've thought before that it would be cool to have a miniature McDonald's for all my little characters to go to. Since I was born in 1992, I didn't get to experience McDonald's in the 80s, but I do have nostalgia for it in the 90s and early 2000s, especially since my grandma used to take me there a lot after she got off work, and I always looked forward to getting a new toy and playing in the Play Place. Since my grandma passed away back in 2021 and McDonald's got rid of their Play Places as well as redesigning their buildings into these bland colors, it makes me kind of want a miniature replica even more. I've thought about either collecting the Fisher Price one, the Barbie McDonald's set (especially since it has the red roof I grew up with), or a custom Lego set based on it.
Awesome job dan with the toy hunting vlog
I turned it off when you asked to go back but then I came back to finish.
The McDonald's is great, kids today dont get it because there's no playground and the toys suck now.
Blessed to have been 80/90s kid 🙏
Great to have a toy con close to home. Means you can get those nice pickups you got. Straight into the collection and the enjoyment can continue.
I would have bought that Fisher Price McDonalds in a heartbeat. As a kid I always wanted one and never found it. I have the airport, the car wash, the parking garage, the castle and a few more but the McDonalds has always eluded me.
Spencer in 20 years: Those ultra rare LED bootlegs, I could have had them all in one go!!!
I'm glad you went back! And you explained McDonald's nostalgia very well - that little playset was perfect.
Since I'm a child of the 80's too I totally understand your nostalgia about Mc Donalds. They were a big thing back then.
It’s never too late to collect what makes you happy
Cannot agree with this more
I am really impressed with you, Ed from Ed's Retro Geek Out, The guys from The Attic Invaders Narc, Greco Fabulous, Cincy Nerd and Mr. Justice Cury a fellow law enforcement officer who I had the privilege & honor of meeting back in April at the Chicago Toy Show. Really impressed on your knowledge of all different toys especially vintage. I grew up as kid in 70's I was 7 yrs old when SW came out, so watching these videos brings back alot of wonderful memories. My lovely wife of almost 30yrs has also become a fan of going to antique stores and toy shows. I remember you saying in one of your videos that going to antique store relaxes you I totally agree with you because it does. Especially in the line of work I'm in, in one of the worse cities in this country. Again thank you Pixel Dan. Hope you are enjoying SDCC hopefully I'll make it out there one day.
Awesome toys action figures ❤❤❤❤❤😊
That final.countdown rendition was amazing
Rad when you and your son share interests. Those chest lights were funny.
Nice vid It's really great You chatting your family and the info about toys and collecting Always cool 👍🤘
I had Street Sharks toys when I was a kid, they were so cool. I'm really glad Mattel is bringing back the Street Sharks (hopefully they'll do the same for Extreme Dinosaurs in the future).
Awesome sat toy convention hunting enjoyed your whatnot stream on thurs 👍
Mr Munch invading Mickey D's, so cool.
I’m writing this before watching the end of the video when you guys are driving in order to share my gut reaction. I’m asking out loud “Christina why haven’t you turned the car around yet?!?? Now back to the video
I feel exactly the same way when it comes to vintage Star Wars. Plus so many knock off accessories it would be a lot to learn.
Nice pick up on the McDonald's play set!!
love that pick up amazing.
Thanks Pixel Dan for this great video and showing us the mcdonald's playset, it's awesome! Stay heavy and blessings 🤘
Ive collected my street sharks since my childhood getting some here and there off of ebay for about $10 a piece. They shot up over the last 6 years. Being roughly $30 a piece. I sold nearly all of mine cuz of it.
Yeah me too, I had 5 of them got $25 each for them.
Never stop doing the arnold voice, love it, ha!
Collecting Star Wars stuff does seem daunting.
I remember seeing a toy bin in the 80's stacked full of Empire Strikes Back figures for only fifty cents each. At least 100 of them. Tried to convince my parents to buy some and put them in storage, but no... They didn't believe me when I said those things would be worth a fortune in the future
Best part of that McDonalds play set is that every brand is making Little People. I saw Transformers at Target, Ninja Turtles and MOTU I think can be found online.
Mac and the Noid hanging in Mcds together! ❤️
Great video! Love that you picked up the McDonalds play set! Would love to see you complete it as you continue to your toy hunts!
Definitely was having the conversation recently that McDonald’s in recent years has really stunk! I hope they realize soon their throwback stuff is so successful that they just need to live the throwback, especially in the toy and aesthetic department!
When I was little McDonald's was like a vacation for lunch, so it's cool you picked up that playset very nostalgic.
Never been to a toy convention unfortunately but thanks for showing the prices
McDonalds Playplace, my fav was the Mayor McCheese, where the ladder was in the middle and you could crawl around in his "mouth"
That McD’s play set is KEVIN SMITHS favorite toy from childhood, he still owns it! Surprised you didn’t mention that Dan! Kevin, Motu, hello!
I once went to a comic-con in Germany and there was a NECA ED-209 that I was eyeing, and I figured I'd get it later in the day cuz it was more expensive than online in the US, but it was sold out online other than Ebay... Went back to look at it again and it was GONE! 😭 I asked the sales guy and he said he didn't have anymore. I was kicking myself all night about hesitating. The next morning I went back to the same seller to see what else he had, and he had another ED-209! (I think there was a language issue the day before since he didn't speak English and I didn't speak German) I snatched it up without hesitation!
So yeah, I get the whole "will you regret it?" internal struggle. Never again! Congrats on the McDonald's!
I had the McDonald’s and also there is a Holiday Inn playset as well. I had so much fun with those and plan on getting them and the Fisher Price Castle back
What is the figure at 22:18 that is multi colored and in the plastice to the right of the bug vehicle?
The $155 for a gonk droid with an old torn cardback is nuts. Just get Gonk man. He’s cheap and great loose.
WOW a wild Freefall(first and fav Joe figure), you never see him in the wild. Plus a Dodger WITH his headset mic would have love to see how much they had him for.
Yeah trips to McDonalds used to be so special. Mom and dad would go stand in line and the kids would run and stare at those big displays with the happy meal toys. Still vividly remember going to McDonalds when I was 3. Time got away from mom so she packed my sister and me up and off to McDonalds. Older sister went to the Happy Meal display and I hung back with mom. Don't remember the what Happy Meal I got but I do remember the 63' bright green Corvette. Love that thing and still have it.
Didn’t realize you were from Springfield, me too! Moved away a long time ago, but still go back to see my parents. Toy shopping there is kinda slim pickings these days.
Great finds Dan!! Love the red card xizor
Power of the Force 2 is my jam 😁 I think I'm only missing two or three figures from the line!
The time to buy is when you see it, because its like I tell everyone "its there until it ain't"!
Dan, that was so rad that you went back for that McDonald's playset. I did something similar some years back when I found a ToysRUs mini LEGO playset that I had found at Planet Comicon, left, and man the memories rolled over me. ESPECIALLY when I passed the old TRU that was on the way home for me. I had to go back, and I got it, and for that moment, I felt like I captured a small memory of that place once again. It's one of my prized toys now. :D
My mindset with vintage Star Wars and Street Sharks is patience
Great video 😊
I was at a Quadcon. The vender who had the giant MUSCLE MEN also had a basket full of affordable Ultraman finger puppets, which I bought a lot of.
Dan you the man love ur channel
I hear you pixel dan. I collect vintage Leia Star Wars figures. I want a 78 original Leia on card but the last one I saw was $500. So yeah vintage Star wars is intimidating to get in to.
McDonald's was big in the 80's and early 90's. It was like a lifestyle. And I loved the commercials, especially the Mac Tonight. Do kids have love of McDonald's today like we did? McDonald's got rid of their mascots, and I don't hardly ever see any commercials. And they got rid of their playpens. The Big Mac is still my favorite fast food burger.
I was able to collect the street sharks and extreme dinosaurs lines before they went up. Not complete but to the point I have all the characters I wanted. The MechaShark is Jaw some!
My hometown was Peoria, and heard the same con organizer does this show all the central IL and Iowa cons. I saw you at Joe Con... And maybe I'll see ya at a IL quad con sometime!
@pixeldan why not just enjoy collecting the whole POTF line over the next few years?
It's cheap and gives u those nostalgic feels!❤️
Nice pick up! I need the snake to jake too I would’ve probably pull the trigger on that one also. There’s another McDonald’s playset. The 1974 playskool I saw it at a flea market and it caught my eye I was almost about to buy it but I didn’t. Just because I don’t really collect that far back but it really pulled the nostalgia strings for me kind of wanted to get it.
Congrats. I passed one up last week and second guessed it. Gotta stay focused! 😅
I feel like I had that play set as a kid seems like I remember playing with it as a kid
Back when McDonalds was so much fun compared to today where it's just a boring box restaurant now.
I went back into 1993 Jurassic park it’s up there but still affordable… it was the Hammond collection that got me in … ever need questions on Jurassic let me know
Talk about intimidating lines… I just started collecting G1 Transformers 2 years ago and popy chogokin this year. MY WALLET HURTS! lol
I call it brown but I'm colorblind!!! 😂😂😂
I drive my wife nuts whenever we pass power of the force stuff and I say to her 'My brother and I had all of these at one point, but then sold at a garage sale'. XD
The WWF hasbro line is one I've been collecting for years still missing some of the more pricey guys but definitely one of my favorites especially the ones with accessories like Jake the Snake
Hey Dan! Just wondering if this second channel was due to the analytics messing with your regular stuff? I love watching ty hunt videos and have done quite a few on my channel but they never do as well as my regular review content.
Never too late
I actually just sold my McDonalds complete at of of my past toy shows
You should get the Masters of the Universe little people for this playset 😂
Those prices are insane.. toy stores in Youngstown Ohio have the best prices for sure.
Did you pre order the technodrome from Amazon?
Yeah I want some vintage Kennet star wars but yeah that train passed now them prices can't justify in this economy
the silver big slammu at the back of the street sharks lot.... is that a custom? Never seen that colour way before.
Jake the Snake will be at quad con Peoria next week!
my cousins had that when we were kids and remember that set. there are things missing. I remember a sign on the square of the front corner.
@pixeldan u only have to collect like 96 star wars figures total. U can do it. I believe in u
Did you pre-order the Playmates Technodrome Amazon exclusive?
Some of the Kenner Star Wars figures with the cardbacks had the wrong blasters
I have seen those Ben 10 bootlegs all over the place, a lot of people buy them from Temu and then try to re sell them, and when you compare them with the originals you notice even more differences, that Steam Smythe has all of his colors just a little bit wrong, like they couldn't get the exact same colors at the factory
Great price on that McDonalds, those are really expensive!
The Hasbros had pretty decent prices except razor was stupid expensive. The chain definitely doesn’t make that much of a difference.
Also, didn’t realize you lived on Springfield. My wife grew up and Chatham and my inlaws still live there. Chatham/Springfield is a nice area.
Had no idea you live in Springfield. I live in Chatham. You going to Peoria this weekend?
Was the Razor a Funskool?
Whose with me that Hasbro needs to give Shadows of the Empire some Black series love? A bunch of great characters and one importnant to Return of the Jedi battle that only Luke survived. The death star 2 plans were acquired in this tale.
Voltes V theme song jumpscare at 4:48
Now you need all the little people and accessories to that McDonalds.
I'm glad there are others that appreciate 80s McDonald's as much as I do! It's a shame what it turned into today.
I believe Xizor is pronounced "She-Zor" ;P But great vid, the prices on stuff at these cons make me hurt every time I see it. That McDonald's set is great though, I actually remember playing with that very same set at my grandma's growing up.
Zee-zor
Yeahy I went back. It was gone lolz
I really hope your doing a tmnt book at this point, I just picked you a splinter from 92 with a red tail and can't place it anywhere
MAn the McDonalds playset, just reminds me of how fun McD used to be. Now its just a "nothingburger".
$155 for a Power Droid is psychotic.
Can you do the Fast food warriors sieging Mc Donalds
There in a new kinkumen movie on Netflix I think coming soon
