I figure as you chase speed and holding let off, details get more and more put under a microscope. Agreed - same results, just faster and done with less physically fit people with much more life distractions on their minds.
The releases & sights are much better,, they were shooting the "fail safe" releases they started getting much better in late 80's with Jerry Carters.. (though the fail safes were ok). . It's easier to get todays bows shooting well with the wide limbs (wheel tilt minimized). Terry Ragsdale had shot perfect on 3 spot in the 70's, @ vegas. first perfect score on 5 spot was just 3 yrs later 88, 89, by me! also 91 (with john taylor) & 92 again by myself.
Ragsdale punching what must be X after X with effortless form. How much has equipment improved? Better than average club or state shooters benefit the most I think, but guys like Ragsdale kick ass in any era.
Not a single obese person stood out to straight away. People looked healthy and well taken care of. I think right now Americans in general are killing themselves and less happy than 40 years ago.
I miss those old pretty bows. Today’s bows so t shoot any better and they are all riser and no limb. And they draw those bows like they are pulling 30 lbs. today’s archers think a target now needs to be super fast and high draw weight. Those bows also weighed less than today’s target bows. Today’s bows are way too heavy. By the time to add all of your accessories, they are almost 7 lbs. that’s ridiculous. And no aide bars or V bars back then either. Not by the top dogs anyway.
First off, no one can understand what the hell you just said… second, if the older bows are better then how come amateurs are shooting the same scores today that pros won with back when these bows were around???
A bow is good when it's heavy as there would be less vibration and wind interruption. Why would a bow needs aides? This day bows have been fine tuned to be the best. This is not like motorsports where the sport is getting slower and too many rules.
Also a high draw weight is also good as it gets the arrow to get out of the bow quicker in which will let you do less mistakes.High draw weight also complements speed as faster the arrow goes, the more straight it goes
Blown away at the quality of this video!
Imagine showing up with today's equipment back then😂
Same results - just faster.

They look like middle aged housewives compared to today’s catwalk models
People now are becoming elite much earlier in life and burning out earlier as well.
잼있네요 ㅎㅎ
18 meters, 4 cm 10 ring.
Bows were more limbs than riser in those days; now more riser than limbs!
Nostalgia❤😎👍🏹🥇🇲🇾
protest after protest would be filed
