I am a member of the museum and encourage others to join.
Mary Grant I took my son who is 1/2 Nigerian we were discouraged from going to the exhibit.. maybe it's because I there without my husband, maybe it's because I was a white women with a black son.. he didn't know the difference nor did I until that day & I didn't want to make a scene... I wanted to explain to him that its important to rise above the schackles of an imposed education.. I was pushed into nursing & being a mom because of stereotypes & the system one day I will take him back & we will watch the I have a dream speech after the exhibit
Mary Grant Hi: I would love to be a member. Could you please, email me the information. iacullomarie@yahoo.com
Thanks!
This is the best museum exhibition I have seen. I've done the Louvre three times, British history museum, Cairo museum, any musuem I can see...this is the best.
I've been there before it was great
I jus went today on a field trip
Wtf is great about this ??
@@streetztalk4143 I went there and no it was not great. It was very emotional and It really opened my eyes. But I’m glad I went there
I visited the one in Bowie Maryland recently but I NEED to see this one because of this realistic wax figures.
This is all about our history....profoundly amazing.
Beautiful place, went there last week
I haven't been here since I was 10 years old I would love to go back
This was awesome but very sad but cool!
The best way to enjoy the Experience is to go by yourself or to go with close friends, because My Experience going with A very large group is that you can't fully Observe or enjoy the Exhibits because you are on a time restriction and everything's rush rush rush. That's why I say its good to go by yourself or with a small Group
of friends who don't Mind spinning all day enjoying the exhibits.
Absolutely beautiful museum.
I was at the civil rights museum in Atlanta and in Birmingham and it has a great presence on our people look at out two term President Barack Obama. Our people have derived excellence.
Im going their on Thursday for a field trip!
A must visit for any African who wants a better understanding of our history. Expect at minimal to spend an entire day there if you intend to take in all of the knowledge that's available! Also check out the excellent First Congregational Church of Detroit Underground Railroad Living Museum!
I would love to perform my music at a place like this .. It fits well! Take a peak ! made to uplift ..
Love this museum.
I went to my friend movie premiere at here. writer of Allure one of the co-writers.
I been there once. Didn't get to see the whole thing. Since, were limited of time.
This place scared the living daylight outta me.
Noel Elizabeth yes i went here when I was like 12 I was so scared
Noel Elizabeth ..why explain...
Yes I believe I went there some time ago but didn't remember, I went last week to rekindle my memory and I pretty much alone from the start, when you go in, you watch a video about Africa, then as you go through the museum, it's pretty dark, and the mannequins and stuff kind of look like they'll come alive, lol and you hear all these weird noises, that did catch me off guard lol
This would be the only thing that would make me visit Detroit.
Because there’s lot’s of black people in Detroit.
Kidnapped people.
The White guilt museum.
It is so weird how you people are so self absorbed.
Ikk
Another case of whites refusing to take accountability
