For people who like looking into languages: Windschief is a compound word made up of wind= wind and Schief= crooked/ slanted So it describes things that look as if the wind has been blowing against it for a long time. Like trees at the coast. So that’s fitting for a nice cosy shawl😊that’s asymmetrical. We pronounce it wind sheef 🌸
I was at Klose Knit in Urbana, IL, when Stephen started out as a knitter. Instantly, I thought - hey this is reminding me of Boneyard Shawl which I think was maybe his first pattern.
You can do simple and you can do extravagant and you excel at both! There's always something for everyone in your catalog. 😍 Your patterns make my creativity and knitting mojo flow. I have to always say yes! And never stress! 😂 I love your world and vibe. Thanks for sharing with us 😘 🙇🏻♀️
I read it as wind (mis)chief. As in the wind is causing mischief. Interesting to hear you pronounce it! And I love the way you show suggestions for how to drape it!
I recently finished my 'Mingling Daisies', and I ❤it so much! I sometimes have a hard time finding ways to wear my shawls so they look cute b/c I'm a tiny person, but it's the perfect size and drapes over my shoulders so well. Hurray!
@@carolinedodsworth6481 He writes them in words/sentences. Not charts. So you just read each sentence, one phrase at a time. And there are often videos that you can follow to learn a stitch or a pattern. You do have to learn a few abbreviations like K3, P4 (knit 3, then purl 4), sl3wyif (slip 3 stitches with yarn in front), but if you can cast on, knit, purl and read an abbreviation list, you can do a lot of his patterns. The cast on is often the trickiest part and there is usually a video that walks you through it with everything magnified. He will show you both Continental style and English (yarn held in right hand) style. People have done his hiberknitalongs and mystery knitalongs & other shawls with very little experience.
These shawls are monochrome, minimalistic, very stylish, perfect for casual or street wear outfits and even more. You can easily see these pieces combined to a Balenciaga street wear outfit.

Beautiful ❤️ pattern thank you
Glad you like it!
I had a windschief hat from way back when! ❤❤❤
So beautiful!🤩
I will try like this
I would really really love if you made a blanket with sleeves . With lots of different stitches, maybe divided by one color lattice.
Please❤❤❤❤
I have to go up a needle size to get the fabric flow like yours. 😊❤
Pronunciation is " Vint sheef " :D (Hi from Germany!)
Love it so much
I want one with the wavy twisted stitches like we did on the Twist and Turns straps.
i love it
But but.... I'm all set to start the hiberknitalong shawl, but I want to do this ack
so pretty- but would love a heavier weight shawl
Goed idee👍😁🍀
It’s beautiful. How would you compare to the cafe knitting shawl? (I’m an experienced knitter if that matters)
It has similar increase techniques to the cafe knitting shawl, so it's a very easy shawl to knit with the crisp twisted stitch section.
😂👍🧶cooler Name. Supi Schal!

Gorgeous, but how do I get the hat.
It's in ravelry, go get it! It's a great, fun knit!

Your knitting pattern is very difficult to knit for beginners ok
His patterns are easier than they look.

@@carolinedodsworth6481 Well I hope one day, you will give one a go. 😁
Зачем показывать такие шали? Это же совсем не красиво.
