there's LOTS of tips tricks and budget mod videos, comments too. some are excellent, and some get you thinking "how to do it better", like putting shims behind both plastic bushings of the axle input covers.. think it was a Hoopties video where he'd just put a washer outside the internal bushing (behind the small bevel pinion) that inspired me to shim behind both bushings instead, for both better mesh and less wobble at the short shaft. newer C-14/24 kits come with the brass bevel pinions and the tan lower ratio B-36 gearbox, is a big improvement, so we do know WPL has been paying some fair attention to customer video and comment feedback. maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday... another C-24 kit will arrive for some chop shop action, swapping B-1 frame to make a C-24 drift (need 8t 0.5 modulus pinion direct btw, no room for 9t). B-1 with a C frame under it (painted black) will look a little awkward for sure, and a slammed low C-24 on the B-1 frame should be interesting. if it doesn't work out it'll only take a couple hours to put them both back to normal. the modified older style #316 gearbox is ready and waiting.
I totally agree with you on these little trucks! I have five 1/10th scale crawlers, Traxxas Trx, Redcat Gen8, two RC4WD Tf2 Marlins and a Vattera Ascender and I've probably had another dozen over the years, yes they are fun but there is something about these little trucks, the first of these were terrible but we all made our own little fixes and mods and they just kept getting better and better, my C14 and C24 are now very capable and durable, I still have 2 MN-D90s to build and I just ordered four of these C34Kms yesterday, gonna build two and further upgrade my C14 and C24 and have a ton of spare parts. Great job on the videos!
First off thanks for the great content, your channel got me interested in WPL. I wanted to get into crawling and was really unsure what to start with. My budget was around $200, but evrything out there seemed too cheap/unrealiable or too expensive. Happy to say I ended up buying a c24K and love it! Budget freindly with endless upgrades/modifications to keep me busy. Out of the box I installed 2 speed motor/transmission which came with the WPL transmitter (upgraded version). I also did the OP metal upgrades out of the box. I'm running a turnigy 800 mah lipo on a 20A esc w/brake, and all that because of your videos. Total with shipping I am roughly at $130, which may seem like a lot but that includes EVERYTHING: c24 kit, OP metal upgrades, battery, charger, transmitter/receiver, 2 spd gearbox, esc and shipping. Got great info from your 2 speed gearbox "tips and tricks" and just a really good idea of how these kits work in general from the content on your channel so thank you! Made it super easy to decide what I wanted (upgrades, kit, battery, esc, etc..) and felt comfortable buying my truck because I felt like you represented what to expect good/bad out of the box. Keep the videos coming. Look forward to running video of your new c34km, and c34k! Thinking that will be my next truck. Might have to paint it pink for my daughter so I can get her addicted rc crawling too! Cheers! Thanks again!
yes start them young! Thanks for your support and glad I could help! Looks like the wpl modding bug got you too. Sorry lol. I enjoy these things! They are like pokemon. Gotta catch them all! LoL
The great thing is,that you don't need to worry about not having a drag brake on these ESC's as the reduction gear on the motor won't let the truck freewheel.
Very good description of wpl I love them with all my heart lol. But this was a great video very detailed plus I subscribed great Channel have a great day
when I got MN-D90 was hoping a Land Cruiser would come out, but after seeing it I'm just not as enthused, the rear wheel wells just don't seem to have enough room/height. those springs sure do have a lot more coil, is probably what's limiting the travel of shock rods. really do like the ALL METAL STUFF, center clearance+smoothness, longer drive shafts too. C-24 I drilled new holes for the shocks tops about 9/16" inboard of the stock location, they're tipped in at the tops instead of slightly tipped out and does allow a little longer easier travel, something that caught my eye in a HobbyDaddy video. looks like the C34 tires+rims are a little larger diameter? it'd make it more difficult to get a different tread pattern onto it... and speaking of, the C-14, mentioned before clipping out the "3 dot" down the center of the tread (tedious there's like 18 rows each tire!) definitely gets more bite in loose stuff, the larger single dots are lined up with the wider of the outer cleats. I've been mounting tires with Elmer's rubber cement, holds decent enough, easy to rub away excess and peel tires back off if/when needed. really like videos and comments with the tips and mods for improving, but this video is an unbox assemble/run stock and review of what they've done new+different, good job! that "deep dish" stock rim mod, used an X-acto pull saw blade here to do it, made it pretty easy job but can be done carefully with a more cumbersome hacksaw, the sections need sanding flat for joining with CA after anyway. JJRC tires... same tread pattern as the older WPL and about same hardness as the RTR tires, but different compound and more traction on hard surfaces, seems weird because they're "shinier looking". haven't tried the WD-40 bag soaking with a set of them yet (but am now! lol), and don't know if they'll change or not. lol there I go again with the 1000+ words :)
The tires are taller but the rim is still the same size so you can use the other kit tires if you wish. I think I just purchased a set of those jjrc rtr tires. They are shiny and dont have a vent hole on the rim.
yup, they don't have a vent hole, and the tread pattern is a little bit tighter than the WPL tires but same. they do seem to grab more traction on hard surfaces vs WPL RTR or soft kit tires, also had some fun success with wetting tire lugs with nail polish remover (the "protein enriched" not the pure acetone)
about 12 hrs bagged wet they softened+swelled, decently soft, gained about 1/8" in height (JJRC's tires). think I like them better when they were harder and springier where they'd be better for a 6 axle truck like they're meant for.... so now you know! the older style WPL RTR tires definitely do it better with the WD-40 bagging, they stay a little firmer. their soft kit tires I'm using foam inserts that are barely wider and 1/4" smaller diameter. good soft give, then hits the foam that backs it up, robbed from spare GPtoys/Subotech 1/24 wheels that I like without the foam anyway.
@@modelnutty6503 nice! I wonder if flexing and stretching the tire will be a better route to take with the jjrc tires? I will give that a try once my hands stop hurting from adjusting the links on this c34 to get the truck articulating how I want it! That was a couple hours of tinkering lol.
Really cool Video. Thank you and i hope you do more Like that. Mayby a conversion of a "Bruder Dodge Ram" would be awesome Dude. Greetings from Germany.
I would like to try my hand at modifications like that in the future. I enjoy just upgrading the powertrain to make them more reliable runners and most my rigs look close to stock still.
What if i put inside ESC which is 3S capable, is it smart to run it on 3S battery, will gears and other things handle speed and torque? Is it included motor 6V or 12V? So i'm wondering, if instead of 2 speds gearbox put inside 12V motor and run it on 3S, will get a same speed and torque like on 2 speed gearbox and 2S battery, what do you think?
Not sure of the specs of the included motor. But if you are able to install a 12v motor I think the rest of the parts will handle it. I have one that's running brushless with a plastic geared 2speed and metal op parts upgrade. That has been reliable so far. I have a bunch of 2s lipos so I do the 2 speed route. I do eventually want to run a 3s in one just to see what gains I get from it. But i run 2s on all my crawlers at the moment.
Thank you very much for reply, will try to install 12V motor and run it on 3S when i get my kit and i'm looking forward to see your video running it on 2 speed gearbox.
Haha very careful stuffing and squishing lol. It's the small cheap 30a esc that most people put in these. It's a tight fit that required me to screw it together while holding it sandwiched. Its tricky but doable.
thanks! I just use good old superglue brand superglue from the dollar store. Don't use the gel types you want the runny stuff. The mn are so close to wpls just wider axles. They are fun as well but the same d90 they keep coming out with needs to change for sure.
Might have to trim it but i see it working! I have an older video of the c24 chassis on a d90. But the d90 is good. Just add the metal upgrade kit with metal driveshafts add wheel weights and your good to go! Probably cost you the same but without having to cut and mod things imho.
There cheap enough to make them the way you want and that's the best part and ur right everyone has their own way wize words my friend No hate nothing but love for the rc boat plane car drone submarine helicopter even the flying fish love that RC
Good afternoon, sorry for English, I'm from Brazil and I'm using a translator. Could you please me answer a question? That model has the proportional steering servo?
Hello, how are you? I would like to tell you about a problem I have with a wpl c34, I mounted the one-speed box from the kit, now the car goes faster backwards than forwards, I already changed Rev on the control, I changed the polarity of the motor and it continues You just told me to turn it around. you can turn the axles 180 so the pumpkins face the opposite of how they are then reverse the channel. This is an issue with the motors themselves. Some aren't timed right out the factory. you can also just get another motor and hopefully its timed correctly.
hello sir! i have a question...if I purchase the metal kit, what parts are gonna be missing? what parts are not included in the metal kit in order for it to run? thank you sir 😫😫👍

@@willp6067 yes you will need those. Your spektrum tx/rx will work with this. You will need a small screwdriver and Allen wrenches but they include some. Just dont over torque stuff they strip easy. im on a really tight budget like under 80 pounds/dollars is there any kind of capable crawlers that can do light stunts/bashing in the hobby that you recommend possibly 1/10 scale but any will do oh and keep up the good vids
It is hard to find a decent 10th scale under 200 but sometimes you can get a good used one. You are close to the price of a good micro or mini like the hp cr-18 or scx24. They are both still over your budget so I know that doesn't help. My advise if you really want a 10th scale crawler over a smaller rig is to save your money for a little longer so you can get a 10th scale rig. It will be worth it in the end because they are more capable and you can run them in more places.

Toyota!!!!
Can i use the motormout for the c34 on the c24 ?
You can mount the c34km motor on the c24 but finding the right length driveshafts is the only problem.
will the c24 body fit on it
The fram has mounts for the shocks that protrude and would not allow the C24 body to fit flush without modifications.
@@RunThatRC that is a shame the c24 looks much better
is that chassi weel base shorter than wpl c24
this chassis comes with adjustable links so you can change it a little if your trying to accommodate other bodies.
🤙
