Omg thank you! I’m like “everything is not about Hov!” This song wasn’t even written by her. It was written by Ne-yo who gave it to Rihanna first but it didn’t make her project so he gave it to Bey. N she just changed up some lyrics so that it’s worded the way she would sing it. Lol!!!

She didn't write on Walk on Water, Skylar Grey did, Beyonce just changed some lyrics, which is why they included her as a songwriter.

Now all you have to do is change a few words in a song and now you are a song writter. What I am saying is Eminem and Skyler Grey wrote the song, Beyonce just changed a few details and is now included as a writer of the song.

More goes into songwriting than just the words. After all a song isn't just a poem. She's her own vocal producer and arranges all her harmonies. That's obviously a massive part of her songs. That's not to say she doesn't also contribute lyrically. Majority of Destinys child hits were written by her. Hell half of partition was freestyled. Mood 4 Eva was freestyle based off the rhythm of hakuna mattata. She's won songwriting awards and there's videos of her writing in studio.

The 2011 VMAs is a good Beyonce performance because she really shows off her vocal talent with "Love On Top", and there's an iconic surprise at the end :) Her 2018 Coachella performance is one of the more recent iconic ones and is definitely a must-watch!

Couple things, I wanted to clarify the "mimicking instruments" there are two parts, 1. on stage she sings... well vocalizes along with an instrument hitting the same notes not copying its sound. 2. She uses her voice as a registered instrument on her songs and layers it into the beats, so a lot of those noises you hear and think "how did she make that sound?" its her, her voice, and her production equipment. If you want to hear her REALLY SING check out Sweet Dreams Medley at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Beyonce sells out Stadiums because of performances like this, her ability to completely transform a songs arrangement and combine different songs with flawless transitions and a fantastic live band is unmatched and a part of her signature.

she didn’t write if i were a boy but she is heavily involved in all her music and is a very underrated song writer. she has writing credits in all her albums and especially when in destiny’s child she wrote all the music. she’s underrated in the sense she’s great at writing hit songs. she also produces and vocally produces all her music. some of her credits may be long but she samples songs a lot so don’t be fooled thinking she needs hundreds of writers
Beyonce's voice is just amazing, especially in this love performance. I love how in this song she sings about how she would be a better man cause she knows how it feels. If you get the chance, theres a song that came out in 2007 called Like A Boy by Ciara but that song is about how men and women should switch up the roles and see if a guy likes being treated like he does to a girl. It's a really good song too and the video is amazing. Also, The Interview is a really good movie in my opinion lol.
Reacting to the tracks first always make you appreciate the live performances even more. If I Were a Boy is a great track, but the live performance at the GRAMMYs is one of my favorite performances of any artists to this day.

“On top” live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough! She sang her heart out and announced her pregnancy at the end of the song on stage by opening her jacket and rubbing her belly. I can’t believe anyone could sing like she did while dancing that long that good and while prego one of the best performances ever. I don’t recall what performance live it was but it was an awards show. Song is on top or put my love on top.

I think this performance was directed to her father because it was shortly after it came out that he cheated and Tina and Mathew filed for divorce the same year. They split the previous year. I always remember watching it and saying “take that Mathew” as a teenager. Beyoncé has always been the best at addressing rumors in her art, and I believe this was one of many of those iconic moments. I know I recommended a lot on the last video, but I still think the “1-+1” rehearsal backstage at idol that I linked is a much watch and so is her Billboard Millennium Award Performance is magical and so is the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show.
