  • In this week’s video, I shared some great exercises to strengthen these muscles and prevent your shoulder from dislocating again.
    If you dislocated your shoulder, there is a big chance of dislocating it again if you do not strengthen the key muscles that will prevent this. And if you repeatedly dislocate your shoulder, you may end up needing surgery to fix this and prevent shoulder dislocation in the future.
    This video will cover the following:
    ✅ What movement to avoid for shoulder dislocation
    ✅ Cable cross-over
    ✅ Chest press
    ✅ Shoulder Internal Rotation
    …and so much more!
    Enjoy this week's video!

      Fell face first off a skateboard and landed on my shoulder and dislocated it, had to get it put pack in place in an hospital. Ever since I've been scared to do exercises that reach behind my back or over the shoulders. I learned a lot and you really helped me find the exercises that I can do without having to worry about an injury and they actually feel like a real exercises. Thank you so much.

    Very helpful. I've had my right shoulder pop out 3 times in my life after age 30. I've back off from upper body training to allow for recovery but I feel it's time to get back at it after taking nearly 3 months off.

      I agree @TheRTJ80. I think it is time to get back slowly into working out. Add these exercises to your workout. Also check out my other video on what position to avoid for shoulder dislocation. Observe that precaution as you start strengthening your shoulder. I wish you the best.🙏

      Thank you for this,I wanted to start until I saw your comment. I really wish to have a good body,but I don't think it's possible without weight lifting. I've dislocated my shoulder 8 times in the last 10 years,now I don't know the exercise to do to keep in shape without popping out my shoulder

    Hey so it’s been over a year since I dislocated my shoulder and my shoulder feels really unstable. I did these exercises for one day and my shoulder has been hurting. Is that normal?

    • @restorepluspt
      @restorepluspt  7 месяцев назад

      Good question @moonkhan161. If you have not done it before and just did it for a day, you may feel increase in soreness and pain. What I recommend is that if it is a lot of pain, stop. For mild to moderate pain, proceed but monitor it carefully. If it gets worse, stop and check with a specialist. I wish you the best.🙏

    Do you think if i had a perthes lesion from a anterior dislocation i will be back with physiotherapy and strengthening without surgery

      It is difficult to say @user-gq3xv1vv6k. The ones I see requires surgery. I wish you the best.

    Hi i wanted to ask after dislocated my shoulder for the 1st time
    Does this activity movement have a risk to make my shoulder dislocate again
    1.brooming/sweeping/mopping
    2. Painting wall using long stick
    3. Wiping mirror in circular direction
    4. Scrapping object on titles/ sudden jerk force)

      Probably yes until it heals
      Mine has dislocated 3 times
      After it heals, it won't come out easily, but overhead movements are dangerous. The second time i dislocated was from throwing a ball to hard
      Muscles dont really help in that case
      You might just have to be cautious with it forever
      It sucks, I'm young in my 20s, but my shoulder easily dislocates in fights...

      @@jtchett3604 hi can u give me expected time based on yours to properly heal.. now im 1 week on sling.. waiting on next xray after 2 weeks.. im 24yo dislocated tue to fall

    • @restorepluspt
      @restorepluspt  8 месяцев назад

      I'm sorry to that you are going through this @DanialADHOfficial. With the activities that you mentioned above, if the movement is in front of you, the is a very small chance that it will dislocate again. The way I am imagining the activities, they all are in front but I am not 100% sure as you may be doing them differently from how I am imagining it. I shared a video on the position to avoid when you have a dislocated shoulder. I suggest watching that so you know what activities that you are doing/will do that involves that position and avoid them. Hope this helps.🙏

    • @restorepluspt

      Good question @DanialADHOfficial. It usually takes around 3 months to recover from a dislocated shoulder. This is with proper range of motion exercises and strengthening as soon as the Orthopedist allows it. Without strengthening keys muscles, the shoulder will be prone to dislocate again. I wish you the best in your recovery. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions.

    I've dislocated my right shoulder 4 times in nearly 2 years. Is this guaranteed to keep it in place?

    • @restorepluspt
      @restorepluspt  2 месяца назад

      I'm sorry to hear that @stevenstatham2864. I medicine, there is no guarantees. Regarding your situation, since you dislocated it several times already, there is a high possibility that your shoulder is lose and there are damaged structures. This exercise may help but most likely it will not be enough. Surgery may be needed. I suggest consult a specialist for further eval and management. I wish you the best. 🙏

  • @adouma2345

    if i partially dislocated my shoulder 5 times will these exercises help to prevent future partial dislocations and stop them from happening or do i need to do more?

    • @restorepluspt
      @restorepluspt  3 месяца назад +1

      I'm sorry to hear this @adouma2345. These exercises can help in preventing future dislocations. In your situation, it may or may not be possible depending on how loose your shoulder already is. If it is too loose, you may require surgery. But certainly give this a try first. You have nothing to lose with trying the conservative approach first. I wish you the best. 🙏

    Maybe the pec is too strong pulling the shoulder in front

    • @restorepluspt
      @restorepluspt  8 месяцев назад

      There is no harm if your pectoral muscle is very strong. It will not dislocate your shoulder by pulling to the front.

    Double jointed kids. Don't try to impress your friends by showing them you can pop your shoulder out of place. In hindsight it was stupid. But here I am searching the web worried I might need surgery. It's not worth it
    IM 19, and this is my issue

      I'm sorry to hear this @fuckedonamonday. Focus on strengthening your rotator cuff and pectoral muscles. It is not a guarantee but that will give you the best chance of preventing future dislocations.🙏 Wish you the best.
