Wow The Damned get better and better, Sensible must be one of the most underrated guitarists playing today
That's cuz he's lazy and prefers to play the easier pieces. plus he's very humble about his playing . If you ever caught him in the that damned show he tells a fan that they would do better to have one of the previous guitarist of the band due to their being a much better guitarist ( can't recall who he said)
If Robert Fripp rates him as a superb guitarist that's good enough for me
Wow it's 2023 which is an unfeasibly long time since 1976 and the Damned are still here, still being awesome, it's incredible and I get to see them play live on my birthday this year. A gig on my birthday? That's never happened before, what a treat🤯

This and other psychedelic rock songs were fantastic when I saw them live this past Friday June 7th. Plus Captain Sensible played his guitar while holding it behind his head like Jimi Hendrix.
the chaotic psych interlude in the middle is awesome----so glad the DAMNED exist!!

RIP 🖤💫 Alasdair Mackie "Algy" Ward (11 July 1959 - 17 May 2023). He was an English punk rock and heavy metal bass guitarist and singer. He began his career in 1977, as a bassist for the Australian band the Saints. Afterwards, he joined the the Damned, before founding Tank in 1980. Tank were part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement.
Thee best band to come out of the punk generation....

Gloriously chaotic!!! Just loved it! Dave's vocals are always a treat, and the Captain's guitars are all over it like flies on a jam boy! PG's bass is always such a pleasure. The clip is a lot of fun too!

God, I love the Damned the first few notes and then his voice as soon as David starts singing just wow wow stunning. Shivers down mh back, goosebumps, heart going crazy and straight to my feet. Had to listen to it like 20 times already 😅😅

I'm sure there's a fan club for this but I'm so pleased hatchets were buried for James, Scabies, Sensible ,Vainian reunion shows. They were superb.

Damn it was so good seeing the Damned play live in London recently!
They are the only (more-or-less) intact band from the revolutionary London class of '76 still kicking and vital. One could argue they are the Rolling Stones of Punk: two original members in the current line-up (just like the post-Charlie-Watts Stones) and a limitless ability to keep sounding......well, just plain good!

@@jameswarhol442 Buzzcocks have one original member and aren't from London. Elvis, great as he's been for a long time, isn't a band and has switched up his bands many times over the decades. Stranglers formed in 1974 and thus pre-date the Damned and the "class of '76". They also have only one original member. Wire ceased activity for about 12 years total from 1980 to present, something the Damned never did for more than a year or two. Public Image Ltd. formed in 1978, didn't exist all all between 1992 and 2000, and has only one original member. Wire is your best argument for another class of '76 band that's still intact, but their inactivity for over a decade since '76 still puts the Damned in the lead for a "(more-or-less) intact band from the revolutionary London class of '76 still kicking and vital."
@@aljustal6554 - "More or less" ? Which is it? The Damned are missing Rat and Brian James so if we're getting technical they're hardly anything but an intact band from 76. My point is that there are still a lot of great musicians in a rock situation from that general era 76-77 that are still making compelling music. Wire, Imo, are the best of the lot and pre-pandemic were on a roll with at least 4 solid albums from 2010 -20. As for the Stones as a comparable they've been missing two founding members since early 70's so they're not exactly an original unit either.
