What would REALLY be cool is if I could use studio one, record a demo in the DAW..WHILE using the webcam or camera set up to record direct. That way the entire thing is recorded together. This is definitely good for generating formal music videos based on existing footage. But the above would be a solid feature.
Youll need to use something like OBS
Screen record and 1 video camera.

Hi Lukas, I first saw your brilliant video about creating macros in Studio One. Thanks for explaining how to work with the video track. I would, indeed, like to see a video on how you would construct a macro to do the repetitive steps you talked about in this video. They definitely need to incorporate full video editing and record options, even with a 3rd party plug ins to manipulate video, it would be well worth it.

Looks like a cubase killer on that feature once again :D, I converted my son to also use this DAW as the only audio tool he needs to use outside his video editing main applications at school, he tried but could not figure how to use C12 but could use S1 6 very easily and reliably (he was struggling with videos not importing in C12) !

I agree that it is easy to use, much easier than in Cubase. now I still miss the capability to use at least 2 videos tracks, as available in Cubase as a common workflow is the film gets differents cuts in the end and they need an update of the sound track(s)

Question: do you (or anyone reading this) happen to know how the new video features handle sync when/if the music needs to accel/decel or otherwise change tempo? In other words, can we lock hitpoints to a particular set of frames within the video track (as far as you know?)
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Sync points and timecode: You can set the Timebase of any track (Marker Track too) to "Seconds" so these events will always be locked to a certain time and ignore any tempo changes. Is that what you mean?
@@studioonetutorials what i think the op asked and what im curious aswell is can we for example freely change music tempo (or to speed up/slow down gradually) so the orchestral hit on bar 9 is always synced to the exact frame...
@@v0nklamke Sure. Just set the Timebase of the track to Seconds and the orchestral hit (orchestral hits FTW!) will always stay at the exact same point in time, no matter if the tempo changes or not.

Thanks for The Video Lukas, I'm having some issues. Video from my iPhone 14 is said to be recorded at 30fps but S1 recognises it as 29.95 and is not compatible with S1. As a general rule what are the most compatible video / Audio settings to have the best chances of editing video & audio together? Thanks & please keep up the good work
Great video. But I think I lack a basic understanding, for which I cannot find help. When I write click on the track (to select "use video frame rate" the option is NOT highlighted (therefore, I cannot select it). I go to export and see 'source code not supported'. I am using multiple source videos... some are just free videos off the internet.... so I suspect there is some User Error on my part. Do you recommend a source for me to bring myself up to speed? Thanks

This is really cool. I have a different problem. I'm trying to map my tempo to different point in a video. Like punch points for trailers and sound effects. Do you know if this is possible?

@@MidwestSunsetDrive Ah - no, you can't insert text. Studio One uses the video engine of Windows & MacOS, they don't support that.

Thank you! No, compositing features are not supported, only cuts between different videos. Studio One uses the video features of Windows and macOS and they don't allow crossfades or split screen etc :-(

Herr Ruschitza. There is a rumour that you know how to get the frame around the video player to disappear so one can use the player live. Is this so? and I'll be your devotee for life if you can show us how.
Hi Lukas - great video on videos! - I am having issues getting the video audio to send to the main outputs. By default, it is sending the video audio to the computer monitor - in my case a samsung tv. Any help here? Many thanks!
Did you extract the audio to a track?

No, unfortunately only one video at a time.

I'd like to begin using Studio One 6 for making drum covers for social medi. Are there any shortcuts to record video on the in unison with the audio I'm recording? If so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Studio One can't record video. I usually record my keyboard videos directly in the camera (Sony Alpha 6400). Then I import the video file in Studio One and sync it to the audio of my project (song).

Can't import youtube downloads direct into s/o 6 direct. have to go through the annoying extra process and time wasting of converting files.
any solution for a direct download conversion. I use videoproc 5.4 potable so just need the best one to convert too as can set as 2xprocess macro.

Works fine on my end with downloaded RUclips videos. Studio One's video support relies on the video engine of your OS. So if Studio One can't import the video, that means that your OS isn't able to play it and you might need to install a codec for this video format.

Studio One 6 reduces the audio quality of a video when exporting the video. 👎
Presonus Support explains: "Studio One exports MP4 as variable bitrate (VBR) to keep the file size small. Therefore the quality has changed.
In order to keep the full quality, you need to export the audio in the desired format, sample rate, bitrate, etc. and sync it with proper video editing software.

Presonus thinks that's OK. but maybe that would change if a certain number of people actually didn't want any loss of quality when exporting.

Doing your video editing in S.1 is pretty crazy. Seems to me backwards. I do my audio in my D.A.W.s and video edit in either Final Cut or Premier Pro. Horses for courses I reckon.

Hi, no, video can't be timestretched. Studio One uses the engine of the OS and Windows/MacOS is not able to timestretch video so far.

No, the Artist version does not include the Video Track.
Yes more on video what could I do with multiple short ph. videos for granddaughter? Maybe some walk through videos can phones be used like an android 3 and is it just mp4 videos only format not sure what my phone video format is .I am thinking of upgrading to studio 6 after seeing this added to my interest! Just like the other global tracks, you don't remove the video track. There's always a video track, you just turn it on or off as shown at 0:40.

Yes that's right, I always refer to the Pro edition. The Artist version has never had any video features.

It's because you're using the Artist version. It does not have the Video Track.
