So, in Yellowstone, “Keep the Wolves Closer”. John says his great grandfather built the main house to keep his family from leaving. But in a 1883 flashback, it shows James dying in a cabin home. In 1923 episodes, Jacob talks about building the house for Claire and the boys, Spencer and John
@@dianelowrey4339 I actually just re-read what I wrote. James would be John’s great great grandfather. But to your response, yes I know that, the tribes leader even said that in 7 generations, the land will go back to the natives. Which would be Tate. But this article is more about the Dutton family lineage. Speculation around who’s John grandfather is. Since some say it’s Jake while others say it’s Spencer. Will we ever find out? Who knows. The series and such seems to of lost its luster with the in fighting of writer and actors.
@@dannermanner5506 It is Jack Dutton (not Jake). Johns father is the son of Jack Dutton who is the son of John Dutton Sr who is the son of James Dutton. It is in their family tree. Yes spencer is the one son of James that survives, but it is also John Dutton Sr's legacy that continues. Look at John Dutton Sr's family tree that alone says that Jack Dutton is John Dutton III's grandfather.
@@seximexi5820 clearly you haven’t watch the series much. Cause I explain what what is said in both Yellowstone and in 1923. Both statements are said which makes everything confusing. In the episode mention, John says his great great grandfather and in 1923, Jacob says he built the house. But at this point, I don’t care anymore. Show/series has lost its appeal.
@@dannermanner5506 I have watched every single episode of all 3 shows actually. Jacob building the house wouldn't be that far off. Jacob is the reason the ranch even survived so building a house for the family instead of living in a small cabin makes plenty of sense to me. James maybe build the cabin but Jacob turned it into a house.
1. James Dutton 1883 2. John Dutton Snr 1923 3. Jack Dutton 1923 4. John Dutton Jnr 5. John Dutton the 3rd (Kevin Costner) 6. Kacey Dutton 7. Tate Dutton (7th Generation) his mom is from Broken Rock - the Native American tribe that will rise up and take Yellowstone back
Exactly. Many believes, that Spencer and Alexandra are John's (Kevin Costner) grandparents. But they have no kids in 1923. That's only 32 years before John Dutton III is born. Spencer and Alexandra having a child who should be John Dutton III's father just doen't add up. Spencer is 2nd generation. John Dutton III is 5th generation. That means that 2 Dutton children has to be born and get children of their own in less than 32 years.
Agreed, Spencer is the one that Elsa was speaking of that carries the family into the next century. Jake and Elizabeth will give birth to Patience after she has a miscarriage we saw in season 1
So does one of the Dutton men have a kid with the native woman? If so, that's interesting bc you don't see many storylines including half white half native kids. Last show I watched with that is Walker, Texas Ranger.
I remembering hearing there might be a cousin who comes into play (I think as their explination of bringing in whoever Matthew Maconohee was supposed to play?) but it sounded to be a brother/half brother/cousin to Cosner's character.
Anyone know which Dutton built the huge house? The house Costner lives in. Is it the same house as in 1923? When was it commissioned/built? That's all I want to know.

The generations get too confusing, one reason is that Tim McGraw said he was John's great grandfather, and not his great great grandfather in an interview. Too some things point more to Spencer than Jack. In the episode Phantom Pain John told that his grandfather lost his leg. In 1923 we see Jack get his leg caught under his horse, then we see Spencer talk about his broken leg in the war scene, and later his leg is trapped under the lion he kills. Who knows for sure but it's hard to ignore all the Easter eggs. Lastly I'm starting to wonder if the 7 Generation Principle from the ancient writings (Iroquois) philosophy could be misinterpreted. Native American tribes use the same principles, here's an example from Crazy Horse who said "I see a time of seven generations when all the colors of mankind will gather under the sacred Tree of Life and the whole Earth will become one circle again. In that day there will be those among the Lakota who will carry knowledge and understanding of unity among all living things, and the young white ones will come to those of my people and ask for this wisdom. I salute the light within your eyes where the whole Universe dwells. For when you are that center within you and I am that place within me, we shall be as one.” Idk what to believe but I think it keeps people interested in the shows.
Wait, we gonna do a prophecy like GoT? In 1883, they said the Native American people would reclaim the land. So Tate taking over the ranch might fulfill that prophecy
Who are your favorite Duttons?
Beth Dutton Beth’s father John Dutton and Spencer and Elsa was awesome
Elsa
Kacee
John (Beth’s Dad), Elsa, and Elsa’s dad. Rip also, but he’s not a Dutton.
Margaret Dutton. I still think that Faith Hill should have gotten at least nominated for an Emmy.
