I've been running Kat in my team since the beginning and I love her.
You would not believe how clutch she can be with Glaciate. I have seen her stop Boss Ults literally a second before they would have connected, her AI is unbelievably good compared to most.
She's also pretty good about using her invincible skill with Ares.
thanks for the thorough and well explained guide! ive mostly been focusing on open matchmaking but i have been looking into prepping an ai team on the side for some of the more mindless farming (looking at you fortitude crystals and slimes lol)

For anyone looking for informations on the player "controlled" character :
Any character works (none have significantly higher HP, DEF, or passives), but if you have one with high HP over mastery, pick this one.
For the weapons, BiS would be fully awakened Ascension weapon, but it's overkill, even for the hardest bosses to tank. You can pick the defensive weapon (the one with HP perks).
For sigils, it gets a bit more complicated.
- Crabvestment Returns (+20% HP, -10% DMG received) is an absolute BiS (from collecting 41 crabs)
- Aegis increase your pool of HP some more. HP+ can help early on, but don't upgrade those, they are not required to reach 99,999 HP.
- Regen helps a lot with survivability, the more HP you have, the more effective it is. There are no V+ versions of that sigil but it can be found as sub perk of any V+ defensive sigil, such as Aegis V+ or Garrison V+
- Garrison helps a lot with tankyness, and, unlike Stronghold, you'll easily find helpful V+ versions of that sigil.
- Stout Heart (from Ciero's exchange shop), on its own, raise your defense, and can be complemented by Steel Nerves for even more damage reduction BUT sometimes, Stout Heart is bad to have : in some fight, you'll prefer taking a hit and be sent flying, having iFrames while recovering, than taking rapid tics of damage (continuous lasers, AoE of continuous damage => you're better off without Stout Heart. Also, being "Slowed" reduce the speed of your procs of Regen, so being blasted out of the Slow zone of the Black Wyrm helps)
- Some ailments can overpower your regen, if the boss you want to tank inflict a lot of burning for instance, you might want to bring one or two unleveled Sigils to reduce those damage. Problem is : there are no V+ ailment sigils, and, apart from HP+ sigils, no V+ sigil can combine ailment resist with ANYTHING else you might want for suvivability
(Note : "Stronghold" aside, the following Sigils do not have V+ versions, but can be found, and should be equiped as sub perks of defensive V+ sigils)
- Auto-revive helps A LOT
- Guts can delay your death a bit. It's rarely a game changer, but if you can fit it in, why not
- Stronghold helps, obviously, but I don't even know if Stronghold V+ is a thing, so getting one with helpful perks is gonna be very RNG reliant (you get those from Curios)
- Low Profile, I'm not even sure that helps : ennemies won't target you if you don't hit them, except with some scripted attacks unaffected by hostility
Final piece of advice : on some bosses, remaining non-moving at all can increase the difficulty of staying alive ten-fold (Managarmr, I'm looking at you). Just running around with some elastic holding your joysticks the one toward the other can be an effective trick to be AFK, and increase your survivability.
If using elastic, wouldn't the Guard button be more helpful? Could also toss in Improved Guard. I recall seeing someone just Guard through Proto Bahamut.
@@HermanWong-lz6mr haven't tried that, I only used the elastic thingy early on, but I did try to manually hold guard, and it would certainly work : after your guard gets broken, even if you keep holding it, after a while it's restored.
Unsure how it would fair against Managarmr threshold attacks though, as they are a serie of huge attacks on your spot, with freezing effect.

Very cool guide. I didn't know about the stout heart thing and didn't even consider giving them Glass Cannon even though it's obvious. What's your AFK character build though? I've tried to AFK the tougher fights like the Blackwyrm but I tend to die quickly
I give them a mixture of Aegis + HP to hit 99,999 Max HP, then max out Regen. I also have some levels of Garrison and a Stronghold V! Try to get both Guts AND Auto-revive!

Any news on your Seigfried non-Glass Canon build? how did that turn out?
I've been enjoying playing it with friends and in public lobbies! The buff uptime feels fun and I've shaved off over 45 off the CD of the debuff immunity. The build is pretty similar to the standard build, with the main exception being that I'm a lot tankier without the Terminus weapon so I can maintain higher uptime on the boss by tanking everything with Stout Heart. I'm currently working on getting his Ascension weapon awakened, so the stats should get even higher \o/
Obviously, it's less damage, and I believe if you have near perfect sigils, you can just run the meta terminus build AND also have the maxed cdr traits.
For AI usage, it's probably best to just build it with the Terminus weapon and glass cannon, but prioritize nimble onslaught and quick cooldown over cascade.
Lots of great infomation in this vid. I have a question. If my AI players are like yours, have fully upgraded Terminis weapons, the best sigils. Then what am i farming for?
What is absolute necessary for me to farm like becauae as someome who just unlocked proud, no wa ly my AI is ready
I farm for materials to upgrade my sigils, and also for curios and stuff to trade for tokens to transmarvel, but even if your team isn't that geared, you can farm some of the hard->extreme difficulty missions for weapon upcap/forging materials. Also I still have lot's of characters to build, so I need tons of materials T_T
IF you plan on bringing Vane make sure to remove his barrier skill. The ai is dumb and is gonna hold it in some corner for a long amount of time

Nice sigil tips, thanks fir testinf! Full assist Rackam uses BEB constantly, does the AI version if him not act the same as the full assist one?
I'm not 100% certain regarding whether the AI party member acts the same as the assist mode one, but I did some testing and found that he tends to use BEB only as a final resort. If he has to dodge or move while charging it, he'll kind of... forget what he was doing and proceed to just auto instead.
I'll continue to keep an eye on him (he's still in my main afk team) and let you know if I notice anything different!
Full assist and companion are definitely different AI, some characters it's night and day and I'd say Rackam is one of those
Yordarha is a "meh" choice, he gets outperformed by Rosetta's damage very slightly as an AI, but it seems that the AI doesn't know how to use shrouds that well, however, for survivability, he's good as he uses his Mirror Image which more often than not, he's at max shrouds and it allows your PC a little more time to regen. Even with 2 damage skills (I go with Flashing Void due to the fact they'll use it and not attempt to dodge since they're invincible), Perpetual Rotation (So they can either get cooldowns if you're lucky, or max sigils), Empty Mist (Good AOE for when bosses are down, good cooldown so the bot can kinda spam it) and Hymn of the Hundreds (Reason stated above).
Overall: Does good damage and has a chance to give you, or it, more survivability.
eugene, rosetta , charlotta 2 skills shining ons/sword lumiel might switch charlotta to sieg or cali still building them
ooo cool is the 2 skill charlotte a less is more character? And yeah I think both Sieg and Cag are both break options, I love seig's debuff immunity so much.

The starting weapon (defender series) gives HP and Garrsion as the traits, so it's a good one to use to hit the hp cap

I recently swapped rosetta for lancelot due to planning on maining lance but falling for vane instead. So I had a lot of investment in Lance. Even still I'm debating swapping back but all this flip flopping is killing me. My other 2 party members are locked in as Percy and eugen although Percy always calls my vane "mongrel" :( when you said your build recommendations s were specific to afk farming does that mean you would change things up for just general missions? If so what are you swapping? Just skills or sigils too?
what weapon wrightstone do you recommend for the 3 dps? Like Eugen, Rosetta and Perci?
Prob depends on their weapons, but most likely should go for a Vitality stone with crit 10 and then some relevant traits like linked together, uplift, and autorevive are really good on the AI
give the ai companions war elemental..... 150+ hours and i still haven't gotten even one ....

Are there any "break-points", like what sigils to have to clear a certain fight (like double dragons or even solo dragons) within an acceptable time (so ~5 minutes)?
Like ... unfortunately, this seems more like one of those moments where one is required to have the "ultimate endgame setup" in order to do stuff, which is required to get the "ultimate endgame setup". Which makes the whole endeavour kind of moot. (Also that the NPCs are good with what would be the endgame setup for a player-controlled character is no big surprise.)
What are alternative sigils (like Stamina instead of Tyranny)? What would be a barebone setup (like, without War Elemental - which not something that is easily gained to begin with - or just level 11 sigils)? How much do the characters decide the clear-speed (Rosalina+Cag+Ferry or rather Sieg+Percival+Lancelot)?
While there are some nice hints and tricks to be found in those videos, they too often are of the kind of "if you do not have bread, eat cake instead", starting from the end of progression instead of the beginning or middle.
Heya, I was working on finish my last video which answers some of your questions, so sorry for the late response!
I definitely didn't mean to insinuate that you NEED these high end builds to do everything - it's certainly helpful to be stronger to AFK the later proud missions, but there are lots of quests even in Hard->Extreme that have materials you need to farm. For those, you're probably safe to just use any team that's around or slightly above the advised power rating.
My recommendation for barebones sigil setups would be to use 5x damage cap v's, 0-2 crit rate (depending on what wrightstones, overmasteries, and weapon you're using), a damage increase (stamina, tyranny, life on the line, less is more, concentrated fire, charged attack, or head start), and a linked together. That should be 8-9 sigils even without a + sigil, leaving you with room to take class sigils, supplementary, war elemental, glass cannon, etc to fill, but you certainly don't NEED war elemental OR glass cannon. Then, as you get more dual trait sigils, start adding more layers of extra damage in the way of Linked Togethers and Suppl damage.
From what I've observed, characters do play a role in increasing the clear, but mostly on an individual level. Some notable ones are Rosetta, who is GREAT at multi target fights, but struggles a bit on moble bosses, and Eugen who is a very consistent, high damage, AI.

Cheers for the reply and further breaking down of what can be a starting point. I just barely managed to get past Versa, so all those endgame and well-matched +Sigils are yet out of my league and I didn't have enough time to grind heavily and having some starting point how to make the grind easier is appreciated but hard to find within all the character and endgame-orientated. guides.
I haven't leveled Rackam or Rosetta, so I guess focusing on those two is the next course of action and then seeing how far I get with afk-ing the first few proud-fights for resources.
(Versa was a pretty tough wall, where the advised power raiting was nowhere near sufficient to clear the fight with its two instant-wipe-mechanics. With NPCs, of course; the matchmaking on Ps5 kinda sucks.)
@@TamdinSol Yeah I completely understand - I wiped repeatedly on Versa myself.
If it's purely for AFK farming, I'd say Eugen/Rosetta/Zeta are the top contenders for value as AI.
Gear wise - you can aim towards what I wrote above, but in the meantime, using the Stinger series weapons (the crit ones), and and whatever sigils seem like value to you.
There's a really nice quest on Extreme called Shedding Light on the Pillar which has the very low power requirement. It grants tons of Fortitude Crystals (wep exp), so I AFK'd that a bunch early on to level my weapons.
Another nice stepping stone quest on extreme is Wings of Conflagration - this one has a decent drop rate of Damage Cap 3-5's along with some other good offensive sigils. It's a great place to build up a few sigils to strengthen your team for farming maniac+ comfortably.

Thoughts on the best overall AI squad?
That probably depends on which quest you're doing, but for general use, I think Zeta and Eugen are always top contenders in terms of raw damage dealt. I usually use those two, and swap the last slot depending on the fight. Sometimes I take Rosetta, especially against multi-boss quests, other times I'll take Lancelot for more CC and hope it allows some phase skips. Rackam is another one I enjoy using on fights with annoying hit boxes like Griffons or PB, since he'll attack the crystals from almost anywhere on the ship.
Not all players have war elemental or supplementary damage because it's so rare to get you must show some build any one can easily get and help them to farm until they find those rare ones
I do mention in my AFK farm video about it, but missed it here! You can start farming extreme and below with basically a pre epilogue level party. It's hard to create a build for every single person's scenario, but if you're working your way up, start by just taking the attack sigils you have, and a few defensive ones like aegis/guts/autorevive - then farm up the lower difficulty stuff until you can level your stinger weapons, and work your way up. Hope it works out!
i have eugen, captian, zeta and percival as A.I. is this atm the best combo for easy non min max sweating afk farm?

my ai team never use SBA till the boss was like 10% health tho their SBA gauge were already at 100% when the boss health was 50% . I believe they were waiting for my afk char SBA gauge to do the full burst(4person burst). Any solution?

In your humble opinion, who would be the best squad (or trio) to afk farm proud mission like furricane, magananar and pyet-a?
For Furycane and Managarmr, I recommend a ranged damage dealer like Eugen, and perhaps a Siegfried to give your team Veil so you can occasionally ignore Glaciate and Blight.
For Pyet-A, most setups seem to work fine, but try to have a character that has skills that drop from the sky so you can destroy the annoying fireflies. Left up, the AI tend to dodge too much and can fail the final burn phase depending on what their SBA gauges look like.
I usually bring 1-2 of Io, Eugen, or Rackam usually, but you definitely can clear it with a full melee team!

AI tend to use skill more so any characters with skill as a main atk always better than normal atk
Yeah the skill use is the most consistent part of the AI - that and the insta Link Attack/SBA, so high damage skill users with nimble onslaught perform exceptionally well!
ai so weird sometimes was doing proto and shooting the shield orbs when suddenly ferry had managed to die, but like how. also wish the ai would just always dodge/cheat they just seem to give up randomly, like in the managrmr nihila fight they just wont stop going down during the big super attack but were fine in base version, or in bolla nihila they just sit there half the time during odium and just eat the lava wave and die, have almost lost a few runs to just ai deaths, very annoying.
im also starting to think they are programmed in some way to not link attack for link time if the boss is charging a wip and you cant get sba soon, my first runs of versa and proto died only because one ai suddenly refused to link attack right at the end during the final dps check
i dont even run glass cannon on them, at one point i tried putting some aegis on them but ferry still craves the grave and cagliostro(worst offender of it for me) hates link attacks at only the most inconvenient of times. and its not really the ai's fault but the number of times eugen has para'ed proto right as he breaks/falls/lands/gets open for link attacks/etc causing him to just fly away instead, held me in a loop for like 15mins one time
Yeah they're definitely really inconsistent at times. I also avoid AFK farming Nihila Managarmr and Furycane as I find I die A LOT
Why does everyone seem to prefer Rosetta so much? Like I feel like not much was said about what she brings to the team so is it just like support or survivability and that’s it? So if I or my team is not struggling to stay alive should I just opt for another dps character? Or is her damage really good too?
All 4 of my characters have maxed out terminus weapons and Rosetta AI will often be MVP due to the amount of buffs, heals and damage she does. Definitely top tier in my book.
@@Psybuster I think in my case I’m more worried about mvp from damage rather than utility which is way easier to get from what I heard. But essentially I just want to know is she so good that she would speed up my clear times. Or is she just to make sure the mission gets done
Her raw damage output on multi-target fights is very good as well, but not quite as high as Zeta or Eugen on single target. If you don't need her defensive util and the decision is just for AFK farming, I don't think you need to go out of your way to build one

What about the character you be on?
I give them a mixture of Aegis + HP to hit 99,999 Max HP, then max out Regen. I also have some levels of Garrison and a Stronghold V to reduce damage taken! Try to get both Guts AND Auto-revive! Also you can run the stout heart sigil from Siero's shop in conjunction with steel nerves for another layer of damage reduction
There's also the sigil you get from collecting 41 crabs. Stout heart can be bad on some fights (for exemple, if the ennemy fires a laser that deals continuous damage, it's better not to have Stout Heart, get hit a single time, and have iFrames during recovery animation).
If you have the extra space for some Fire Resist sigils, sometimes it's worth it.
But, yeah, any character works, and none have advantage over another.
If you have over HP+2000 over mastery on any character, it would be your best pick (if you struggle to reach 99,999 Max HP), but that's about it.
NB : even without Steel Nerves, Stout Heart on its own reduces damage by 20% (it's not indicated on the Sigil)
@@Zelarith Yeah it's definitely situational. Fights like furycane suck for it - strangely, I've found it to be super helpful on Pyet-A. When you get slowly pushed back during his bloodthirst phase, stout heart lets you sit outside the range of most of his mechs, especially during the sweeping laser ones.
Also, it's not much but you gain some extra DR from your defensive masteries while you have stout heart active as well!

Important tip : NEVER use Vaseraga as an AI, believe me.
I think he's the worst AI in the game because you know what you said about Eugen's Detonator and Io's Flowery seven?
Imagine that on a character which the core of his DPS relies on charge attacks.
It's horrible.
JUSTICE FOR OUR SLOW ATTACKING AI FRENS
Dont use rackam, he has one of the worst AI dps rotations in the game. Best trio AI for most/all proud content by a mile are Eugen, Rosetta, LiM Zeta (w/ only Spear of Arvess). Rule of thumb is to never give or let your AI get the Stout Heart buff. Then if you can, slot in a lvl 15 Improved Dodge as a subtrait and they will be close to immortal in proud stages especially when running Glass Cannon.
Rackam is fine even with his poor AI, give him the right skills, cascade/qcd and he keeps up with Zeta and Eugen.
@@julianshi9480 No hes really not, cant even say "fine". Hes almost on par with a Yodarha or Vaseraga AI when put into action. You can argue that he can sometimes dish out high damage, but its far too inconsistent, and pales in comparison to other AI characters. Also we're talking about the Best here, not the usable or "fine" ones.
Its also false that you claim he can keep up with Eugen and LiM Zeta. Never in our testing or my personal afk farming experience did rackam got an MVP in dps, unlike the said top 3.

We've neither recorded nor documented screenshots or full afk runs personally. All our sources are from public spreadsheets and youtube content creators providing their full builds. The tests we've done are referenced from these sources with the help of the unofficial discord community.
The info im providing here is widely known for endgame players trying to min-max their setups. I could provide you other people's collated data as reference.
Im also interested on how you managed to build AI rackam into keeping up with AI eugen and LiM zeta dps? Personally, rackam has never reached MVP dps when accompanied by said characters. He even falls off versus Percival and Lancelot which are also really good contenders for top AI dps characters.@@julianshi9480
Sadly since repeat quests have been limited now I don't care to afk farm. Kinda ruined it
