This match is between two ice hockey club teams of Iran, which was held at the ice hockey rink of the Iran Mall complex.
Ice hockey is a relatively new sport in Iran and is seeing increased popularity. The first official game in the country was played in 2016 but the history of this sport in the country dates back to the Pahlavi era.
The Iranian men's national team was founded in June 2016.The women's national team was also established later and participated in international competitions.
هاکی روی یخ در ایران یک ورزش پرهوادار در ایران به ویژه در شهر تهران است و اقبال همگانی به آن در حال افزایش است. نخستین بازی رسمی حرفه‌ای در این کشور در سال ۲۰۱۶ انجام شد اما پیشینه این ورزش در کشور به دوران پهلوی می‌رسد. تیم ملی هاکی روی یخ مردان ایران در سال ۲۰۱۶ بنیانگذاری شد. تیم ملی زنان نیز بعدا بنیان‌گذاری گردید و در مسابقات بین‌المللی حضور
یافت.
