i bought a street triple after yammie yammed on about how great the engine was, despite hating the bug eyes. bought a my'16 with the cable throttle, converted the lamps to a single, and love it more than my 2nd kid.
I have an ‘06 Daytona 955i. It is by far the most fun motorcycle I have ever owned. The triple engine sound is so fantastic, and it’s the most comfortable sport bike I have owned (prior bike was an R6). Thanks for making this video Yammy! Love the channel!
Just bought one yesterday, and it truly has exceeded expectation. But the sound of my Honda VTR 1000 V twin I'm selling (is the only thing that) blows it out of the water
Jumped on a street triple during a triumph test ride just to see what it was all about. It just feels so powerful and so light, nothing in the 650 category felt anything like it. It's like a 1000cc, till you get up to speed which is when you are reminded that it is not a litre bike IMO
I've had a Triumph 2003 America, fun bike easily customizable. Have my fathers 1974 bonnie, Chopped by him and horrifying to ride, and now I have my own 2013 Speed Triple. I loved riding all of them. The speedy is the funnest though.
I just bought a used 2017 Triumph Tiger. It's definitely not my first motorcycle. However it is my first Triumph and first triple cylinder engine. This has to the best motorcycle I've owned. The engine is absolutely brilliant. A great balance of torque and when needed, it will give the upper end rush horsepower. It serves as my better alternative to my gas loving and my weekend fun toy. Thank you for sharing the history lesson 🙏😊
Years ago I had a 2009 Daytona 675 SE it's the only 'big bike' I've owned and I absolutely loved it,I used to commute to work on it everyday and never got bored of the soind.people always loved the way it looked too and it felt special.i got back on a bike last year after around 4-5 years off the road and am now saving for a street triple
Currently have a 2008 Tiger Sport 1050 w/ 30,000 miles. Plenty of power, but also plenty of electrical/ ignition issues. Owning a Triumph will make you learn electrical systems.
Thank you Yammie, just so you know i got into bikes this year and you were the first person i found and still watch. I bought a brand new ninja 400 when you released the video (everything wrong with the ninja 400) because you told me not too. Then just a few weeks ago bought an 07 Daytona 675 because you told me too. since then my friend bought one and my roommate is currently looking for one. You provide fantastic entertainment and i must say your choice in bikes is awesome! i love my Daytona and feel is it perfect in every way!
I had a T150V back in 1975. Loved it, I could beat Honda 750s, Suzuki 750s and any other Japanese in-line 4 basically because the handling of my bike was so much better than the Japanese models. The only downside was that it was bloody unreliable, but when it was holding together it was brilliant
My first Triumph was a Daytona 900 in 1994 and now I own a Street Triple 765 RS - I loved the Daytona, which was for sure a sports tourer not an out and out sports bike, but the Street Triple is just amazing. Fast, nimble, powerful but also docile when you want it to be and always a blast to ride. I wish, I really wish, Triumph decide to make the Daytona 765 a full production bike not a limited edition, I would be in the market for one for sure! Spread the word Yammie! I am relying on you.
The T150 and the later T160V had a split center exhaust too. As it left the center cylinder head it split into two and then both halves joined into the outer pipes (3-4-2 setup). This was done for clearance of the single downtube frame design. My first ever 'real' motorcycle was a 1977 Triumph Bonneville T140V 750cc, bought it brand new straight off the showroom floor.
I own 2014 Rocket III Roadster bought it new in 2015 Feb. and it's an awesome bike Triumph makes bikes for those who actually ride not listen to Tunes/Infotainment distractions etc. Love the whistle of that 2300 engine!! inline 3 cylinder motor
My 2nd bike was/is a Street Triple RS, ngl that your Daytona slaying made me aware of the brand and their relevance in the street bike market, please don't kill any more
Sprint ST 955i!!! Best beginner bike! I love my triple and won't replace it until I can afford a Rocket. And just to throw it out there: the Speed Triple was born with the 885 and then got the 955i in 1997. The 1050 cane about in 2005 for the Sprint and Speed Triple ❤❤
In the early '70s I sold bikes for a living [Suzukis, Triumphs, CZs & Moto Guzzis]. I've ridden stuff you never heard of [Puchs, Gurney Eagles, ATKs, Jawas....]. Hands down, the best motorcycle I ever rode was a '73 Triumph Trident! Triples rule.
Right then yammie: I think your dud on them firing every 240 degrees is a bit off. Triumph fires it's triple every 120 degrees and then maintains a complete rotation without firing which is what makes if different from the typical mt09 type treble.
Even before I saw this video, I had a love/hate thing with Triumph/BSA/Norton bikes. I saw some of your other videos, many with your white Triumph and fell in love. So, from seeing these videos I looked up Triumph's website. I'm a returning biker from the early 70's. It was Bonnevilles, Sportsters and Hogs back then. There was however one unusual bike that everyone ran from. No, I'm not talking about Honda's 750-4. It was a small bike that ran like a bat out-a hell. It was the Kawasaki 500. A triple cylinder, two-cycle engine screamer. In Nashville, TN, there was this really overweight guy (estimated weight of 350 lbs.) on one of these things and still nobody wanted to race him( we all nicknamed him the marble on a razorblade). It smoked like the outside of it was on fire, but once it got rolling it was game over! Oh yeah, when the time and finances are right, I plan on purchasing either a 660 or a 765. Even right now, I can't make up my mind, but it's unlikely to be my other choice, a Honda CB650R.
I still have my 2001 Sprint RS 955i. Has 56k on it and it still pulls like a horse!! I purchased a 2018 Street Triple R last year and it’s the best bike I’ve ever had. I am the choir, preach on brother!!
atrocious It’s been an amazing bike. Taken it from AZ to Colorado and AZ to Mexico countless times. I did replace the plastic tank, which was my only real complaint about it. Hope to have it another 18 years.
Sadly I found Papa Yam after I found my lovely Street Triple 765RS, and yes it is every wonderful thing everyone says about it. An unbelievable engine, telepathic handling, and super hero brakes.
The first Speed Triple came out in 1994 with the 885cc engine and had carbs. In my opinion the best Speed Triple ever. This was followed by the 955i before the 1050 came out.
Just purchased a used 2008 Speed Triple. I LOVE IT!!!!! THanks for all the info. Probably would have never known about this bike. All my friends ride Japanese sport bikes or Harleys 😒
Finally managed to get a Tiger in the summer. 2nd hand, 8 years old, 40k miles. And while there have been one or two niggles, the engine has been flawless. I've been on singles, twins and 4s, and the triple tops them all 😁😁
I just bought a new speed triple1200RS not long ago this model is complete different from predecessor this bike really tell us triumph are the best three cylinder manufacturer
Owned a Triumph Sprint 1050 ST a few years ago, used the same motor as the Speed Triple 1050, only slightly detuned for sport-touring. Nothing better for putting 600+ miles under your butt per day and then having fun in the twisty bits. Don't have it anymore (old man backbone doesn't like sport ergos), but still own a Triumph. As for the referral, sorry Yam, I owned the bike before I found your channel. :P

Bought an 05 rocket 3. With only 1291 miles on the odometer it looks like it came out of a time capsule. Unfortunately the fuel sustem needs to be completely rehabbed. Cant wait to get this torque monster on the street!
Because 3 cylinders usually have the perfect balance of low RPM torque and high RPM horsepower. 😅 Also, the offset firing order of 3 cylinders sounds great! My Rocket III with K&N intake filters, and Carpenter Racing S.S. exhaust, sounds so unique and awesome.😅 I've been told many times by friends riding behind me that it's loud as Hell, and the Coolest sounding bike they have ever heard. I'm a BIG fan of 3 cylinder bikes.❤
as an old bike mechanic if you've ever set the "3" sets of point in an old trident without cursing 🤬 I salute you on my 2nd speed triple now , Love Them !!
