    Excellent, excellent video. Personally I would appreciate more LOS flying footage and commentary, but what you did cover you did REALLY well. Dims of the battery bay, pros and cons list, and lots of other stuff was very valuable. And not the least of which was how it stood up to CRASHES...that's HUGELY important, and most reviewers pretty much ignore that topic.

    The extra foam mount looks to be for a pan servo with a camera, the little raised bit that blocks the view is the cockpit dash board. Well at least this is what I'm planning on using it for when mine comes next week.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад +2

      Yes this seems to be what most people are thinking. Let me know how you get in as I feel like a pan servo will make it quite nose heavy 👍🏻

    • @FasterThanJesus666
      @FasterThanJesus666 2 года назад +1

      @@AdamGdoesFPV Just to follow up, the extra mount is definitely for a pan, it balances perfectly with a mg90 servo and the stock camera using a Rhino 450mah 4s. The weight comes in at 249g. The battery is actually a good bit from the back of the battery bay so there is potential for a bigger battery.

    That 2nd canopy is design to mount a servo and the camera is on-top of the servo, so you turn-around the position of the camera, usually this is the secondary camera, rather the nose camera as the primary camera.
    Nice video and great introduction of the plane .. I may consider buy one :-)

      This has been the view of a lot of others. I’m not convinced due to the shape and how nose heavy it would be with a pan servo. I put pan servos on many of my planes for 360 head tracked panning but these are larger models 😎

    I got some thoughts about this plane:
    ESC is blhelis - split the signal and connect it to pc to enable brake, temp cutout etc.
    Stock servos hate having no signal. They go crazy if powered without pwm signal. Had this on S6R rx as well as INAV where the FC sends no pulses to servos until it boots.
    Getting 50mah efficiency on 4s. 650mah give me around 10 to 15 min flighttime.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад

    I cannot for the life of me figure out what the extra white piece eather. It looks like a cradle for maybe an FPV camera? I have to agree it's one of the most fun planes I have I really like having the rudder for LOS just turns really nice. Foam breaks super clean love this plane. I didn't take it easy on 4s and popped a fet had to rig an old 16x16 4in1 and now I'm back up

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад +1

      Haha it looks like it would match up to either the top or bottom of the plane, so yeah I wondered if it was for an FPV cam (but an odd choice of shape for it) or if it was for fitting landing gear 🤷🏻‍♂️ funny that it wasn’t mentioned in the manual, it will have to remain one of life’s mysteries 😅 oh wow so you really do have to be careful on 4S then. Thanks for the info 👌🏻😃

    I think the canopy with the cockpit is meant for a motor that moves the camera with a head tracker, I’m not sure how big they are but I’ve seen it in a few fpv vids

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад

      Yeah a few people have suggested this too. I've got and had many planes over the years with a pan servo for looking around using a head tracker during flight, but this one just seems a bit odd to me. The slot doesn't look like the perfect size for a servo and I feel like it would be quite nose heavy adding more weight here. Maybe I should write to Eachine and ask them to solve this mystery once and for all 😆 thanks for watching!

    Could this plane be converted to a long-range flier? I feel so overwhelmed by this hobby, I've been obsessing over a long range FPV system since finding your skywalker 1900 videos ages ago. More recently I found rctestflight's nano goblin video and it reignited my interest. I can't really find any beginner guides for FPV wings that have been made recently. I am considering buying this plane if it comes back in stock, but I know at heart I just really want to do long range flying.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад +1

      Hi, it really depends by what you mean by long range. To some this is 3km, to others it's 100km. Personally I think this plane is more suited to proximity... with it being so small you can't carry much gear or battery. You're better off going with something more like a 1m wingspan.

    An insightful review. Had not considered this model due to its small fuselage, but now having second thoughts. ;)
    12:16 Wondering if the alternate canopy was designed to hold a pan servo for FPV camera? Could be fun addition, even if linked the pan to operate in parallel with the rudder. (or on a linked switch)
    13:43 The image quality variation with this camera is a tradeoff for non-DJI camera; lacking some feature options only available on DJI and Caddx-Pro cameras.
    9:35 Wondering if you tried configuring dual-rates on your radio to reduce control throws at high speed?
    See where a couple 3d-printed part accessories could really make this a goto fun flyer.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад +1

      Cheers mate, glad you found it useful. And yeah that fuselage is very small but if you can work round that it really is a super little plane 😃
      -Someone else also mentioned the pan servo in the second canopy. Interesting idea but I can’t help but feel it would be hard to get CG right with a pan servo there. It sure is the right shape for it though!
      -Yes camera choice is still something I don’t regret as I’m flying into dusk and image is still good, but the DJI cam gets hard to use as it gets dark
      -I already have multiple rates but it just seems to get a bit erratic on high throttle. In the video clip I was making barely any stick input

      It's so slim and it has a tail so I feel like it always had more chance of being more stable than the D250. It really is a nice little flier though. The Polar footage looks compressed when I go through trees... but when you see any compression in the rest of the video that is unfortunately YT compression. only thing for me is the price, if it was £20 cheaper i would be happy, but for very similar money you can get a heewing t1 ranger. Which i have been buzzing around my local park with no issues, has more room inside, and can carry the insta360go.

    • @theoztreecrasher2647
      @theoztreecrasher2647 2 года назад

      Different markets. The Heewing is for loading up with flight controllers and serious camera gear and it's a nice smaller aircraft for the purpose. But you'd have to inject a lot of Hydrogen gas to get it under the 250gm limit many folks will be stuck with.
      Also where are you buying from? Our latest Flying Fish was AU$117 (PNP) delivered from the Ozwarehouse on a sale. The current prices are (no kit form for the Fish) AU$131 (PNP) and AU$172 (FPV) ex Ozwarehouse and about AU$169 (PNP) and AU$197 (FPV) out of China.
      The Heewing is about AU$170 (KIT) and AU$253+ (PNP) out of China.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  2 года назад

      My flying buddy has one on the way so I'll be interested to see how it compares. For me, the reason I chose the Fish over the T1 was because it's lighter and looks like a toy... which I think will reduce the chances of someone getting upset about it flying round the park. The T1 is just a bit wider and heavier and looks a bit more serious.
      In terms of cost, like @ theoztreecrasher says, the different markets have different prices and the UK is in an unfortunate situation with not being able to buy from the CZ warehouse any more since Brexit :(

      The fish is definitely more toy like and being under 250g makes it the new king of that category. Both planes have a great future in the hobby.

    How do you change channels on the DJI vtx in this model?

      On digital systems you just change the channel on the menu in the goggles

      No, unfortunately not. I just go by flight time which works out fine

      I also was forced to use a timer which is very sad. In windy days battery drain becomes unpredictable (with full throttle fights with the nature). Fish flies perfectly on PWM receiver and it’s so much fun, but I guess it’s time for a FC upgrade))
      I’ve done a vista upgrade just yesterday night and the quality is just amazing, thank you for inspiration 🤩

      Depends on the park, but this small park with lots of kids etc I would not want to take something big and heavy or noisy. I wouldn't want to fly something heavy near people and yes it might upset people too.
