can't you just slide the red and black connectors to join them together? You can put a pin to hold them but usually you don't need the pin in my experience.
Agree! I do just slide them together. Some have said they use superglue, but I have yet to have them come apart. I did find the small pins in the kit, so I tried one out today. They seem to lock the two together once they are slid together. When I first started power pole seemed like a lot of extra work, but the more you have, the more convenient they become for batteries, radios, mobile and fixed power, etc. Now I’m a fan
