Thanks Cliff and Diane for taking the time to do this vlog, really interesting to see how all the seedlings coming along and appreciate the info you give 👍
Liked the hori hori knife Cliff, looks a useful tool for the garden for chopping stalks etc off the likes of cabbages. Leeks and other veggies but I guess you have to watch out for your fingers! 🥴. We have had a couple of nice warm days but now we’re heading back into very cold conditions, never mind hopefully summers not too far away now 🤞, anyway take care and keep safe and I’m looking forward to the next episode! 👍
Thanks David, yes I have found the hori hori knife very useful, not cut myself with It yet lol. We are also having had a couple of cold windy days, after the 20c few days. Mind you It's Easter bank holiday normal weather. Take care regards from us both.
Thanks for that! I’m going to give my Hori Hori knife a sharpening today! A good garden tool becomes like an old friend with time and use! The seedlings are all looking good. Klaus
Love your videos. So informative and practical. How you and Diane make use of what you have and care for it. We need more gardeners like you. Happy Spring 🌱and Easter 🐥 from California
Thanks for that update, always reassuring that, where you are at,is where I am at,when it comes to seedlings, well, this year anyway.👍hoping you have an abundance of crops this year and look forward to all your uploads 😀
Thanks for showing us the horri horri. I'm a retired gardener and only saw these (thanks to youtube) a couple of years ago. I think I will invest in one for the allotment.
I needed this! Looking to keep my garden knife sharp. I have the tools you showed us, passed on from my father but didn't know how to use them. Thanks!
All your plants are looking good. Say hello and regards to Diane and yourself. Not much going on here but spring break is over and the grandson is back in school. We sure did enjoy having him while his mom and her wife went off to honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico. Looking forward to seeing the chickens soon.
Thanks Connie, things are improving here, Diane is pleased the hairdressers are open on the 12th of April. Chickens will be overwhelmed coming out of lockdown on the 1st April. Enjoy your week regards from us both.
Seedling are looks very healthy. Love the layout of the fruit cage. Will have to try your sharpening technique on a few knives . Stay safe, happy spring🌱🦋🌷
I love Hori Hori knives, they are so useful for digging and sawing off roots (if you still have the serrated edge that is🤣) I was so glad to see one well used and cared for. Also the fruit cage is looking terrific. I am really looking forward to seeing your crops inside it this season.
Hi Cliff! You're better than Rambo and Crocodile Dundee with your knife there! It will go on my Christmas wish list. I'm so impressed with your fruit cage! Best wishes. Stay safe.
If you do decide to get a hori hori grab one from a.m. Leonard! They are built very strong with a orange handle so you can see it on the ground if you lose it.... also get the deluxe one has a built in twine cutter!
Hi Cliff and lovely Diane Thank you for the information regarding sharpening the horri horri knife ill get and do that , Your fruit cage is looking the business now for sure and will last a good time, Plenty of seedling coming on there do you have your wonderful yellow peppers again this season. All best Bill and val
Thanks Bill & Val.. just have the door to do in the fruit cage going to show next week, as I have been asked how I attach the wire. Yes I have grown the yellow peppers again, very good germination this year. Will be giving some to our daughter, first year she has her own greenhouse shows what lockdown can do. Take care regards from us both.
Lovely video Cliff lots of information and tips, have you got any tips on how to germaite celery, basil and parsley seeds I just dont seem to be able to start them off any advice would be great
Thanks Lesley.. celery and parsley prewarm and dampen compost, set seeds on the surface press them in but don't cover and keep warm. Basil pre moist warm compost, set seed and cover to the depth of the seed. Best to do in small pots as they don't transplant well regards Cliff.
Hello, Cliff and Diane! Blessings from Montana. Great to see how you are potting some things up, we are not quite there with the starts we've got in the greenhouse but we do have a few things coming along. Still no work outside, we had snow again this morning and pretty chilly today we won't make 40F after being 65F yesterday. Springtime in the Rocky Mountains is so unpredictable. I need to get some bone meal on the raspberries, our garlic still hasn't begun to grow but, the rhubarb is popping up. What do you feed your rhubarb? I'm looking forward to seeing your goji berries we tried those when we lived in western Washington but they only had a couple of years before we moved.
Thanks Tim, yes your weather sounds very unpredictable, hopefully things improve soon. I feed my rhubarb as soon as It starts to grow, the rhubarb needs nitrogen in the spring. I use dried blood as Its 13% nitrogen, use what's available at your end and give a good dose. Thanks for watching regards from us both.
Hi Stewart we were given a packet of white strawberries last year, they took so long to grow I gave up with them. Be prepared they do take a long time regards Cliff.
Lovely video, Cliff. Do let us know the results of the PH tests. I was of the belief that PH can fluctuate depending on type of rain, soil activity/temperature. Once the soil warms up, so will PH. No idea if that’s true, though. Also, can you remind us where you got your under trays from. I recall you mentioned them either last year or year before. They look solid and jolly useful. Take care, both.
Thanka Amanda.. we have had no decent rain for a few weeks and the ground is very dry, I think this does affect the PH as I got different readings on the same piece of ground. But will let you know the results as will test a few times. The undertrays I got from Ikea, they are actually boot and shoe trays very tough. Enjoy your week regards Cliff.
Diane and Cliff once again very educational

Have you had any success growing strawberries from seed, got a packet and they seem to be taking ages to germinate
Hi Stewart we were given a packet of white strawberries last year, they took so long to grow I gave up with them. Be prepared they do take a long time regards Cliff.
Hi Cliff, do you have enough left to do on your fruit cage to show how your wire sheets are secured to the frame? It looks a lovely sturdy design
Hi Karen the wire sheets are all attached, we have the door still to do, will show you next week. Take care regards Cliff.
👍👍👍

@@CastleHillGarden Thank you! Just bought 6 from Ikea. Bargain!! Hope the PH readings are OK. Best wishes.
Well done Amanda for getting your trays, pH reading will settle once It has rained regards Cliff.
Watch the goji berries. The berries will throw out seeds and you'll have them growing everywhere.
Thanks for the info Cdngardengirl, will keep a eye on them regards Cliff.
