    good idea to save money as the proper footprints are £60 however it should be cut to size which is slightly smaller than the tent base itself, otherwise any rain will sit underneath the tent and eventually seep through

    Well done on putting the tent up, not so much on the ground sheet! It should always be slightly smaller than the tent, or you will end up with rain where you dont want it .

    • @Petes-Page
      @Petes-Page  5 лет назад +3

      normally I'd agree however the Berghaus is a sealed unit the ground sheet is actually sewn in all I did was add a footpint under it to protect it from stones and also if it does rain and get muddy then I can roll the tent up and it will be relatively clean and the foot print can either be cleaned or thrown out. keeps everything clean inside the bag .

    • @matrix2k25
      @matrix2k25 5 лет назад +3

      @@Petes-Page yeah most tents have sewn in groundsheets nowadays. Still a good idea to have slightly smaller footprint. Puddles under the tent will shorten the life of your groundsheet. Each to there own i suppose. 👍

    Bought this tent plus the porch extension. Managed to get it erected without too much difficulty and without referring to the manuals thanks to Pete's video. The only thing I would mention is to PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRESSURE GAUGE. The tubes do not expand, so once pressure starts building it will shoot up very quickly.
    After a minute pumping I thought the pressure was still zero when in fact it had gone off the dial and was right against the needle stop. Thankfully no harm done.

    Hi Pete,
    I just bought the Air 4 which is currently being weather tested in the garden..... I'm just wondering how the big air tents cope in high winds say above 30mph. Only ask as our first tent was a regatta 6 tunnel and we'll let's just say it didn't like the wind and is now in the bin! That's the reason I downsized to a smaller tent.

    • @Petes-Page
      @Petes-Page  7 лет назад +2

      last year during May half term we were camping by the easy coast when we had 50MPH winds, other campers were packing up with broken poles and wrecked tents whereas our Air 8 was swaying a bit...that's it just swaying... the 8" beams are really sturdy and stood up well in the wind. here's a clip of from inside the tent...ruclips.net/video/D0dySSvuQ8I/видео.html

      We had such a kerfuffle getting it back in the bag. There is a DEFLATION port on the pump to extract the air. But make sure the "push button" valve on the air beam is set to "in" to keep the valve open. Then do some more pumping to extract the air. We had all the kids rolling about on it to try to get all the air out. At least they thought it was fun! 😅

    • @Petes-Page
      @Petes-Page  5 лет назад +1

      Hiya Craig I did have a video of me putting mine up but unfortunately I deleted it by mistake.
      One thing I will say is that it's better going up on the back door ie the one without the little sun/rain visor. Also I might note it will never be a complete seal at the edges where it meets the tent no matter how you try. Its a porch and not an awning and is made to fit multiple tents. We also used the rubber jigsaw like mats on the floor to raise everything up in case rain came in(it never did).
