I can’t wait to try this technique today! I’m 27 but I’ve noticed when I’ve used concealer and powder under my eyes, they look dry and crepey. While I’m writing this comment I’d just like to say that you are absolutely stunning. I hope I could look this fantastic when I get to your age! 🧡
Melissa! Yes oil works wonders before applying concealer. I’ve been doing this for years but I’m going to add something to this that I’ve been doing for quite a few years I’m almost 50. I prefer to use an oil like olive oil or the oil you suggested under my eyes as soon as I wake up. I put quite a lot so it’s slick. Then I apply a silicone pad on top of the oil that I cut in little squares ….and leave it my eyes for long as 20 min to an hour… Talk about smoothing the skin out and making a difference before you apply your make up… it’s awesome! I had surgery and had the silicone pads from my scars and one day I decided to put the silicon strips under my eyes after I put on the oil and wow it makes such a difference I do it every morning. Especially if you’re puffy! Just a little tidbit. 🙂 I do have a link to the silicone pads on Amazon if you’re interested. They are about $20, you can cut then fit your eyes. 😉 They can be washed and reused.😄
🙂Hello Melissa … look up Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting - 1.5" x 3" - 100% Healthcare Grade Silicone … Try to leave them on for a bit to see good results… like 45 min to an hour after you get up. I know we don’t always have that time in the morning😒but the longer the better. Give it a try 🙌🏻
Oh my goodness!! You are just the sweetest thing!! Your accent makes me miss my family down south!! I’m almost 52 and have lots of under eye issues. This trick looks so great and doable!! Thanks for being your authentic self and helping us gals out!!💜
Oh girl your 58 yr old skin is fantastic! My 58 yr old skin looks like 88 yr old skin. I didn't know to take care of my skin until I was looking years older than I was. Now I have to say IT IS WHAT IT IS
You’re beautiful! I’m going on 46, and my eyes are where I notice myself aging the most. I’ve worked in the beauty industry for over 20 yrs and have tried every eye cream and serum. Nothing has helped my concealer not settle in my fine lines, so I usually just choose not to wear concealer. Going to give that Vaseline formula a try. Thank you!
Great tip, definitely will try it. Nobody prepares us ladies for the way aging changes our faces and our self esteem but you don’t have to worry about that - You’re a BEAUTIFUL lady and you will be blessed to stay beautiful all the days of your life!
Thank you. I'm 65 and the undereyes are very thin... my most challenging area. I'm going to try this and I'm glad this product is affordable. You are beautiful btw!! 🌷
Oh my gosh! You are such a joy to watch and listen to!! I’m early 40s and am just starting to tackle the crepe under my eyes & stumbled across this one - I enjoyed it so much!! Thanks for bringing a smile to my face xx
I’m 31 and due to give birth to our first baby this week. I’m looking for ways to help my skin in fast simple steps. This video is gold as I’ve started noticing lines under my eyes this year. Fantastic video! I hope I look as good as you do in the future. Just beautiful! 😍
I started out, in my teens, using regular vaseline as an eye makeup remover, & have noticed that helped my concealer go on smoothly, once I began using it in my 20's. Meaning, just the residue or conditioning that my skin received from using the vaseline the night before will now have to find this particular vaseline lotion & give it a try.
Hi RV! Thank you for watching and I do find this lotion to be so softening and non greasy, too. My skin just kinda absorbs it and it helps plump it some. ❤️
I am so glad to see your technique using the vasoline. I have been trying that with Aquaphor and it's too heavy. I never dreamed it was a real thing! Now I can change over to the lighter version and I bet it works. I'm excited and I thank you so much for proving I haven't lost my mind and for finding a better way (product). Thanks!! ❤
Ooooh! Magic. It’s on my list to get tomorrow. After reading about the product I think I need a bucket worth for the rest of me too. Thanks for sharing .
Love the jojoba oil idea…I’m going to do it….I don’t know why people think the under eyes need to be “set”…they don’t!😇…stop powdering the undereye!!!!..don’t need setting spray directly under eye either…..all of “it cosmetics undereye concealers work Beautifully!!!..also love the good molecules Yerba mate wake up eye gel……your layering the under eye with jojoba oil…I think a great idea👏🏻👏🏻
I just found your channel and am so glad that I did!!! You are very different from the rest of the videos on this subject! Love the video love the accent!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you!! Just this morning I was getting frustrated with my eyes having the same issues as you (I am the same age as you) and I thought what am I going to do.... now I will certainly try this. Love your beauty tips and watching you.... your a cute as a button!! Have a blessed day!!
Can't wait to try that vaseline stuff. BTW, my eyes used to water all the time. Someone told me it was caused by dry eye, which seems counterintuitive. But when I addressed that, the watering stopped.
@@debbys6810 My eye doctor suggested I take a daily fish oil capsule and to use Systane Ultra eye drops morning and night. This was about 15 years ago, and I still do it. No more watering eyes. Hope this helps.
Omg. I loved your video... My mom always use to call me the sun worshipper. Lol. I would literally cover my entire body in baby oil and lay on the trampoline with a sprinkler underneath then when I got too hot I'd lay in the pool for awhile. I did this damn near everyday for atleast an hour a day... I NEVER used any kind of sunscreen. I'm only 30 but my skin used to be super oily and now it is sooo dry and dehydrated. Recently, I seen the trick of applying oil afterwards... I have always had horrible dark circles with bags and the whole eye area is crepey... It has got muchhhh worse since I have gotten older and my skin is so dry. So I truly appreciate videos like this. Your makeup looks amazing. I love seeing something other than millennials on here... I feel like it's easy for them to do makeup perfectly... It's muchhhh harder when your skin starts to mature... So I have to give you props because your makeup is amazing.
Thank you So Much for this tip. I have tried everything. You have the Best personality ever. You made my day. Thanks again, I'll keep watching. By the way I'm 57.
Thank you for the tips. I travel quite a bit between two states. When I’m in Florida my skin is beautiful and moist. When I’m in Pennsylvania I have to increase the moisturizer I use and not just on my face but everywhere. When I’m in Oklahoma, my face is beyond dry and I’ve learned to bring much more moisturizer for my trip. I mentioned this because as I’ve aged I’m noticing these things more and more and that knowledge has helped me look my best from state to state and even different countries. I love the Vaseline trick and can’t wait to try it. Thanks a bunch!
I love that you are so real and offer real solutions for hair and skin. You are fun! Glad I found you! I haven't tried the vaseline but use vit. E. stick or cocoa butter stick but I'm always open to try new things. Thanks so much Melissa!
First off you are sooo BEAUTIFUL 😍 Second, I could listen to you talk all day, you have such a wonderful voice. Third, thank you very much for showing me how to make my eyes better. God bless and thank you. ❤️
Thank you! I actually used a face primer on under eyes, let it dry. Then proceeded as you did. By end of day can still see few fine lines (only under one eye - weird), but looks much better than it used to.
I cannot wait to try this…..I use oil in this manner, after my normal skincare routine and just before applying concealer and it still settles into my crepey skin, ggrrrr! So, on my grocery shop day, I am going to buy this and give it a shot….thank you!!!!!
I tried it.. it helped! I'll be 46 tomorrow and I've got those crepey eyes under the entire eye. BUT I also read that Vaseline can be used on the WHOLE face as a primer because of the way it smooths everything out, so I tried it with this lotion, and it REALLY works! I still spray my regular primer water on, but right before I put my foundation on, I applied the lotion, and it just looked great! It didn't take as long to apply the foundation, and it went on a lot smoother. It stays longer too. I'm definitely doing it that way from now on
@@katebutt you put any sprays on the skin first.. rose water, toner, special items for the skin. Next, put any serums or oils on.. vitamin c, niacinamide is good, etc. Let dry, then put any lotions on. The last thing you put on before makeup is sunscreen. So, thinner to thicker items in order so the skin soaks it in well. Then put Vaseline lotion on, let dry. Primer water helps your makeup adhere to your skin and you won't have to fix your makeup throughout the day nearly as much.. spray or pat it on after the Vaseline lotion. Not straight Vaseline. Rose water is a GREAT primer. It's great for your skin overall, can be used for hydration, primer, and even as a setting spray after you do your makeup, which seals the look and is less likely to smear. I use Advanced Clinicals G-Glow Toner for them all. It has vitamin c too so I no longer need vitamin c serum. It has rose water. It is WONDERFUL. Got on Amazon for $12 I think. Anyway, spray that on, pat it in your skin, and let dry. Then, put your face on. Then use primer, Rose water, whatever to seal. You can also use hairspray as a seal in a pinch 👍 any more questions, just ask me. I'm almost 50 and the products I use are great but cheap, none of the expensive junk
Ty for the simple tips that works like a charm but doesn’t require too much products , u are my new favor make up guru , such a blessing to all the woman that over 50 like me ! Hi big mama bear! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I enjoy doing these tutorials. I work a lot and this is my stress reliever. Plus, it’s fun having girl friends all over the world❤️❤️❤️
I do something similar. I use a glow lotion (Loreal Lumi Glotion) and mix it with the concealer plus a tiny bit of oir. It makes all the dryness go away and wrinkles smooth out. I do powder, but just in the middle with a WetnWild loose powder..
😍I finally found the product and grabbed it; I have many grey hairs and was not sold on the idea. But it works!. No under eye wrinkles or any on the lid, I tried that too. Wonder what it would do for my whole face; thank you so much.😍
Hi Melissa. You've made my day. I've just turned 49 (how the heck did that happen lol). I do my undereyes very much the same but not the vasaline. I've had to change my makup because my skin just isn't the same, even back at 45 I began to notice not so subtle changes. Im from Australia so I'm not sure when I can get that product from but believe me I'll bust my butt trying. You look sensational!! Thank you x

Hey Butterflydiva72 , fellow Aussie here. You can get this at Coles and Woolies , it's just been renamed Expert care dry skin lotion.Same colour tube and bottle as Melissa has.
First time viewer. I was admiring your skin and was wondering about your age...44, 45 maybe... and when you said you age, I almost fell off my chair! You look fan-tas-tic!!! Thank You so much for sharing your makeup tips for mature skin! :)
You are absolutely beautiful!! I am nearly 20 years younger than you, yet I have been battling the same under eye crepey & bags for the past 10 or more years, and have still not figured out how to prevent it from being so noticeable. I cannot wait to try this Vaseline and the other oils that you use, as it is clear that you have mastered the crepey underline wrinkle drama like a champ! However, you did mention “I have bags and will always have them,” which TBH, I think I have finally discovered a vanishing act, that works really well. I found this little trick on the Sephora website, and I will leave you the link. But basically, when watching your video, the “bag,” appears as a dark blue/purple line. Utilize a orange cream or liquid color corrector (I use a q-tip and add the tiniest little dots of orange directly inside of the blue/purple line, and then very gently with the smallest brush ever, just gently tap until the orange is covering the line/bag. Then go over with a self-setting concealer (that is about 2 shades lighter than your foundation), and add it to your entire under eye! This works, because you can only correct blue/purple with its opposite on the color wheel- “orange!” You do not apply the orange to the entire under-eye, but only into the dark line (I also have the dark on the inside of my eye- where it meets with my nose. So I put a dot on the inside of my nose as well.) it literally disappears like a magic trick! Hope this helps you, as much as you have helped me! Thank you sunshine, for brightening my day! U r so sweet! I’m frm MS so I love ur disposition and of course the accent! Southern girls forever!!!! Thanx for ur tips! I’m 41 and starting to get the lines😡. U look so beautiful and young!!!
I have the same issue too! I’ve been using Vaseline lip therapy before my concealer! Like you I was trying to think what I could use to combat concealer sitting in those fine lines. Ladies it works. The key is a little goes a long way and is a game changer for me. Also I do the same on those smile lines.
Wow let me say you are gorgeous for 59 yes old. Im 55 and have been trying to take better care of my face and body. I love your under eye hack and cannot wait to try it.
Great tip! I will give that a try! I will soon be 70 so I am looking for something to help with the crepey eyes! I love your sweet encouraging personality!
I think you look amazing. I also have under eye issues. I will be 58 years old on Saturday and I enjoy tips from someone my own age as our issues are much different than young women. I look forward to your next video.
Beautiful my dear you look wonderful I just turn 67 but never use make up but always use cream I'm trying that Vaseline with other products you showed I think I try a little make up. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for this ..... Just today putting my concealer on I got creapy under my eyes and was thinking an oil or something...and bin that concealer for a different brand ....perfect so gonna try this tomorrow morning... Enjoyed your company ☺️
You have such a pleasant personality. I like what you said about long videos and getting bored. But I like how you talk and the way you express yourself. I have the same face shape as you. I have highlighted hair that you have inspired me to make even blonder and cut some off to wear it more like your style. Seeing your style on your face, I think it will work for me. I watch a lot of these bc I have bags and dark circles. I think you did a great job explaining this. Going to get this Vaseline product. Super job. You look great. Felt like I was just listening to a friend -
I'm 41 and my under eyes are so dry. Every time I hide my dark circles with concealer, I get dry patches and it's sooo ugly. Even using moisturizer, it still dry. I'll have to try this technique to see if it'll work for me. Thank!
CAN U SUGGEST SOME ALTERNATIVE PRODUCTS OR DUPES FOR THE YOUNIQUE PRODUCTS U USED...I CANT AFFORD YOUNIQUE RIGHT NOW 😒 SO AM LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVE ITEMS TO GET THE SAME RESULTS. 😊
I’m so excited, I was looking for a solution for this problem for ages - yours sounds to be it. I’ll definitely try this out. You look gorgeous! Thanks for this video!
@@abc-gy8oc I put it everywhere to great success. I would give two bits of advice though for the under and over eye lids.. Don't scratch or rub the area to try to get rid of any peeling quicker.. You will undo all the hard work the retin a has done whilst making tour eye area worse. And two, go slow and build up that areas tolerance and have some form of cream that your skin can handle that won't sting on those days when your skin needs hydrating but it's still a little sensitive. The area will look bad before it looks better, just like any other part of the body that you use retin a and those days it just needs moisture and leaving it alone. I have no wrinkles around my eyes and the skin looks lovely and taut BUT I always use an eye cream every am and pm after washing so I don't over stretch the skin unnessarily and I NEVER rub my eyes. I've been doing it for 5 years and that's my protocol. The under and over eye lids are never forgiving and so I always keep them hydrated with a gentle eye cream. I'd also do both together or the tightening won't be natural. I used to have hoods now I don't and I used to have lower eye wrinkles now I don't. But I've been using it for the face for over 10 years so my face is very used to retin a and I use it almost every day. Keeps the hoods and under eye wrinkles away. But I'd caution that all skin is different and all skin takes different time to adjust. But a tiniest amount used over the whole eyelid area has never done me any harm to my eye sight and has only benefited my over all face. It shrinks skin area whereever you put it when older so putting it just on the top or just the bottom would make you look uneven and put unwanted pressure on the skin that it already taut which is why I put it everywhere. I do stay half a cm away from the lashes because this stuff will naturally move forward with sweat and general movement as you sleep anyway. But I'm not keen to retin a my eyeball. This is my experience only and can only be given as my opinion on what I do not advice. But you asked and I love it.
Vaseline lotion products (especially the yellow bottle) are the best moisturizers ever. Use it on hands, arms, legs, body, feet, face, etc. You won’t be disappointed!
You must be a very soft spoken women, I am on a brand new tablet and the volume is all the way up and couldn’t hear most of your presentation except a few times when you leaned closer to the screen. I am interested in what you have to say and I was compelled to write so you were aware the volume of your voice is spotty. I did have my 2 daughters and a girlfriend watching your video at the same time, useing thier own personal devices just to make sure, and they experienced the exact problem with the inability to hear you as me except when you leaned into the screen for closer demonstration purposes. I so admire and appreciate you lifting up other women, giving us tips, and educating us on new trends on how to apply makeup as palettes, colors, & techniques evolve. After all, even most women know that what was current in the 80’s, wouldn’t enhance how we have evolved thru the years,( not like the beauty industry, thank God it’s has kept evolving, and the years haven’t affected it!, lol) and there are so many women who are in need of the guidance that women like you offer. You help to accentuate thier unique beauty, which In turn helps many remember that yes, they are in fact beautiful, and when you wake up a memory like that, you change lives. Thank you Melissa
Hi Laura! Thank you so much for the sweetest comment ever💓💓. During the time I made this video, my phone was experiencing mic problems. So, I have upgraded and changed IPhones. So, the sound is now perfect thank goodness. So happy you found me on here and commented. Hugs❤️❤️❤️
Hello, just happened to scroll and found your channel!! Love it! I also have started using oil on my face recently. I love a dewy look, although it's not as dewy as you would think once you put the foundation on, but I know I'm doing great things for my skin while using oils. I make my own oil concoction after researching the best oils for the face. (looking at doctor's videos). I believe that Baobab oil is the best oil on the market for the skin, some doctors even recommend using it with cancer patients to put on their skin after chemo and radiation. The healing effects are amazing. So I take a dropper bottle, fill it half way with Baobab oil, then even amounts of jojoba and sesame seed oil (not roasted), with 3 drops of sea buckthorn oil. Can't use too much of that because it is really yellow, but a great antioxidant. I use it every morning over my moisturizers. I get more compliments on my skin that I ever had due to the oil's healthy and glowing effect.
@@youniquebymelissaover50bea30 I found the Baobab oil on Amazon. It was a bit difficult to find and I also mix it in with my body moisturizer. There are a few skincare companies that sell products based on Baobab oil, but they are overpriced. I use a derma roller every two weeks and use the oil afterwards. Great way to get the benefits deeper into the skin. Especially around my wrinkly knees!! LOL
@tall blonde, was wondering if the oils you use are great for all skin types, or did you do research based upon your specific skin type? I tend to have exceptionally dry skin, that only gets worse during the winter months. Do you tend to be dry, oily, or combination?
@@kristaljoyner2278 I have dry skin as well, and did my research to find that Jojoba and Sesame oils are easily absorbed by the skin. Heavier oils, like Olive oil, have larger molecule and just "sit" on the skin instead of actually be absorbed. I am a licensed aesthetician and have known for quite a while about the benefits of baobab oil. I used to use a product made from baobad only because I learned from one of the owners of this company, that a well known medical hospital reached out to her about the uses of baobab oil to help ease the effects of chemotherapy on skin of the cancer patients. It's not called the "tree of life" for nothing! LOL
You are so beautiful and I love your personality! I just learned so much and have so many new products that I look forward to trying now. Bless your heart

U forgot to say…Tonya,51
Hi Tonya and thank you💜💜
Thank you for the wonderful tips and tricks!
I have to try this with my RMS concealer. Please do a video showing the RMS lip products?
It’s nice to see someone who is natural doing video!
Try it for the whole face! It works wonderful!!! The foundation goes on so smooth, looks better, and stays on longer
I love that you treat eyes the same as lips with oil. I’ve been doing this for years, using eye products around lips.
Yes, and I’m still doing it❤️❤️
Can't wait to try that vaseline stuff. BTW, my eyes used to water all the time. Someone told me it was caused by dry eye, which seems counterintuitive. But when I addressed that, the watering stopped.
Hi Patty and thank you for watching and commenting ❤️❤️
It is certainly not caused by dry eyes- I have severe xerophthalmia and the nightly ointment contains glycerine....LOL
Hi Patty, what did you use to treat your dry eyes? Was it prescription or over the counter?
@@debbys6810 My eye doctor suggested I take a daily fish oil capsule and to use Systane Ultra eye drops morning and night. This was about 15 years ago, and I still do it. No more watering eyes. Hope this helps.
@@bhampatty1 Where are you from if i may ask?
Hi Alecia and thank you girl for watching❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your tips. I can’t wait to try them 😁 You are stunningly beautiful even without makeup! Many blessings 🦋
Thank you So Much for this tip. I have tried everything. You have the Best personality ever. You made my day. Thanks again, I'll keep watching. By the way I'm 57.
Hi Nadine🙋♀️🙋♀️. Thank you so much for your kind words♥️♥️♥️
You are so pretty!!!
I think your technique is the best one I have found so far on RUclips for applying concealer under eye area for mature skin. :)
Awww…. Thank you Sangduan💓
Hi Gail and thank you for commenting and hope it worked for you 💜💜
I love that you are so real and offer real solutions for hair and skin.
Awww… Tammy Lynn you are so kind♥️. Thank you so much for watching & commenting!🥰
I'm definitely doing it that way from now on
What she is showing in the video or that vaseline lip primer?
i need more details please? what order do you do it in and what is primer spray beforeeeee foundation ??! plz help

Hi Gia and thank you for the tip♥️♥️♥️♥️
What is oir and where can I get it?
Thank you x

Hello how are you doing 😊😊☺️👋👋
omg trying now
You are absolutely beautiful!!
This works, because you can only correct blue/purple with its opposite on the color wheel- “orange!”
You do not apply the orange to the entire under-eye, but only into the dark line (I also have the dark on the inside of my eye- where it meets with my nose. So I put a dot on the inside of my nose as well.) it literally disappears like a magic trick!
Hope this helps you, as much as you have helped me! Thank you sunshine, for brightening my day!

I love my tretinoin or better known as retin A. I'm 51 and it keeps those crepes at bay. Love your video.
I’m getting back on Retin A!💜💜. Thank you!
Can you use retin A on the under eye area??
I love it💜💜
You must be a very soft spoken women, I am on a brand new tablet and the volume is all the way up and couldn’t hear most of your presentation except a few times when you leaned closer to the screen.
Hi Tall and that sounds awesome! Where do you find all the ingredients??
