Fun post! I especially loved the nighttime red light on Shawn's face. It's shadowed his eye and he looked like a pirate. 😂 seriously though, great post. Love the scenery, the explanations and the sailing.
Just wait until you see her after the refit! You’re absolutely right about wearing PFDs at the helm at night. This particular night was soooo calm that we each decided we felt very safe at the helm. No matter how calm, neither of us is allowed to leave the helm/cockpit without waking the other.
@@SailingRoamlooking toward to it. We sail on an Excess 11. Also twin aft helms. Just remember when you go overboard at night without vest, that’s probably the end.
The fish was delish! I should have cooked half and froze half. Oh well, I was just so excited and threw it all in the pan! We usually don’t choose to sail at night, but sometimes there isn’t a good day sail option. We could have stopped for the night at Chub Cay, but the weather was going to deteriorate the next day, and we didn’t want to get stuck there waiting for wind. Easier to just sail through the night.

That weird nighttime light definitely creates some strange shadows! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Nice video! I love that boat. One thing. You should really wear lifevests when you’re alone on that helm at night.

The Excess is interesting! We walked around one at the Miami Boat Show.
Did you enjoy the Mahi Mahi? What is the advantage of night sailing?
