This video was so informative and really well done. You both are amazing! My car Kia forte 2015 won’t start and starter, alternator, battery are all fine. Even tried jumping the relay fuse which is also fine but still won’t start and someone told me it could be the fuel filter so hopefully this will help me. Again thank you for this video. Definitely subscribing!
thank u for posting because i have to do this very soon on my forte. here's a tip when working with car batteries. always take the negative lead off of the battery first. if you don't, and you accidentally hit the body of the car with the wrench while you're removing the positive lead, you're gonna make some scary sparks and if it's a bad day for you you could toast some electronics. so if you take off the negative lead first then that can't happen. if you hit the wrench and the negative lead to the body nothing bad ever happens or if you hit the positive and the body after the neg is off, there's no path for the current and nothing bad can happen. all the best.
That is so true about the neg cable. We originally wasn’t going to this video, we normally do campground reviews. If I do the video again I’ll be more accurate.
FYI, the service manual states to remove line pressure, remove the fuel pump relay then run the engine to use up reserve pressure. Once you're done you'll need to put the fuel pump relay back in. This will generate a trouble code, so you'll need an OBD2 tool to clear the code.
@VEW RV Adventures Did you not have a trouble code generated in your repair? Did you remove the fuel pump relay or did you just remove the fuse as you showed?
In theory if you didnt want to do all the small work, if you buy the "Fuel Pump & Housing Assembly" (how its said on Rockauto) it has fuel pump and fuel filter already assembled and you just drop that whole white plastic tank looking piece in and throw out the old one, right?
@@vewrvadventures1863 mine is the 2015 forte koup 1.6l turbo. It will run for about 45 minutes and then it will die and we have to let it sit for like 20 minutes to get it to start again it's acting like the filter is clogged
This is the ex. It sounds like your fuel pump may be shutting down after it gets warm. If you don't have any check engine lights most likely your issue is fuel. When was your fuel pump replaced last? Do you have any codes?
I’ll just add a fuel additive every 6 months like Seafoam, StarTron, Sta-bil 360 ethanol treatment, or Gumout. Unless this failed I wouldn’t mess with it.
Beautifully done. Excellent team work. Thank you so very much.
I would never thought that was the fuel filter you was a lot of help thank you very much
It's the same on a lot of Kia models. Our 2022 soul has the same.

Hey was it the fuel filter ? Having same issue
Nice explanation. Just changed mine after watching your video. Thank you buddy.
Your welcome, nice to see people doing their own maintenance and repairs.

Great, helpful video with good insights.
Thank you.
Thanks
This was really helpful! I think it's funny that my 2014 kia forte fuel pump went bad a few month apart from yours
Luckily we were locked down during COVID and couldn’t go anywhere anyways.
Thanks for this video helps me out a lot I'm going to attempt it myself.
What's the use of covering portion of your video?

Could you share the service manual?

@@RhamonGB Go buy it like everybody else
On ours the relay and the fuse is the same.
Disconnect battery, turn on lights to drain ECM computer caps. Fault erased
Love this video I needed it knowledge and experience gained
Thanks, we're glad it helped you.
Would this be the same procedure for my 2017 Kia soul+?
Sorry that I can't tell you for sure. I know that it has a different style of fuel pump and my experience with the 2017 is limited.
thank you for video. so good. ❤
Thanks
So nice explanation, thanks
Actually super helpful even if not a perfect video. Tsm
Haven't had to do this yet, but was looking for some videos on it. Have a 2016 forte, thank you for posting
Will this apply to a rio? Can’t find any videos on them but I’m assuming their similar
The Rio might have a spin ring on top but most of the procedures should be the same.
@@vewrvadventures1863 it was identical, think it had a extra hose but other then that all was the same
Where did you buy parts separate. I can only find aasy. But can't find the filter or pump.
They were available through Rockauto.com
Hope this helps you
Thank you so much for this very informative video!! It is exactly what I needed you guys are so friggin awesome for doing this! THANK YOUUU
I’m so glad it helped you. We couldn’t find anything that really showed what to do. So we decided to show others our experience.
Dude knows what he is saying she's lucky he is a good mechanic
Thank you i am going to change mine, big help.
Always start bolts or screws with your finger,or take a risk of stripping them out
This may not be a how to video as stated in the beginning by you guys, but you guys certainly know your shit
Thanks

Great video! Thanks for the explanation too.
Thanks, yeah it beats $400 to $500 from Kia
That was helpful guys thank you
Having a time ain't ya😂I feel ya, it's aggravating
Is that a kia koup sx?
This is on a 2014 Kia Forte. Not all but most of the Kia's will be done the same way.
@vewrvadventures1863 what kind of forte ex or sx

We replaced the pump 4 months ago. After it sits for like 30 min it will start and run for a while and do it again.
What tools did you use?
I'm pretty sure all the tools needed to do this job is at the first of the video. I don't think we used anything other than what we mentioned. Thanks
did you try opening the fuel cap before to try and depressurize the fuel system? maybe it wouldn’t have shot out like that
We did have cap removed and was pretty sure we ran the car until fuel was out of line. But it did have pressure built up, not for sure why.
I forgot to connect the molex connecter to the electric fuel pump when I put it all back 😂. Had to redo it
Sorry for laughing, but I have done that before on another vehicle. I feel your pain.
Look good👍👍👍👍👍
Good video
First vid I seen where someone hid their face.!!?? 😢
It's not intentional, but just how it got edited
Excellent day thank you so much you very nice thank you 😊
Good video. But I'd probably just spend the 500 instead of doing all that.🤣
Luckily now prices have dropped and it's alot more affordable to just replace the whole unit than before. Filters and pumps are cheaper too.
😂 make sure you wear safety goggles too...
why u hiding the cam - we missed many steps
@Amjad Jadallah, Not forsure what your referring to. Hiding what cam? What steps are missing?
Just buy a whole new one!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Idk what you guys are doing when its blurred out. For that. Im gonna give a thumbs down.
Always that one person who will give a thumbs down before asking why? Some people are just idiots.

Some of us would rather not use bandaids and do things properly
@cheifdenis I agree with you 100%, some people just don't care.
