This is a birthday special. And Bindhu’s Vlog is today digressing from the food videos (we don’t intend to keep it food only). In this Bindhu is interviewing Ms. Shanta, who has been in Bahrain for some time and considers it her second home - like most of us here. As I heard her story years ago, I immediately related it to its economic relevancy, especially to our home state of Kerala. Every pie that she earned and sent back to her family has sweat, blood and immense drudgery on it. Every time one sees these nondescript women walking briskly on the hot and sometimes very humid roads of gulf to their working homes, a thought or two just misses a beat in me. Add to it most of them live in cramped up living conditions akin to pigeonholes. Add to it the right kind of work-attitude an otherwise subservient (only out of the home state) Malayalee possesses makes the hard-earned pie beyond its original value…if only people back home would just consider these and give a thought. But then you (people back home) butt these with “why do you after all go outside the country” to them my rebuttal is “exactly because of you who thus ask and not give anything back to the society, but are in the habit of taking from it, how will you get when don’t give? This is exactly why we have no industrial environment in the state that can produce or give employment”
The interview does not capture those emotions now since I think she is more on stable ground at present. But pls watch and like subscribe and spread.
