INSIDE PRISON RAW: What Our Cameras Saw Every Day

- From 2008 - 2011 our cameras were inside a maximum-security juvenile prison as teens served their time behind prison walls. During our time inside, we saw everything from the boredom that sets in after weeks, months and years behind bars, to teens being shackled and escorted to segregation after a fight, to juveniles requesting they be placed in a "time out" chair in order to calm down, to teenager Keandre going before the juvenile "parole board" to plead his case as to why he thought he should be released from prison. An update on prison protocols following our filming is also included in this video.

I was waiting on bus and saw a young man sitting with his lips busted up head down and I could tell he just got out of jail and his manhood was taking and nobody would let him sit next too then!but I did and told him too hang in there and things get better,it made me sad😢

To be completely honest no, I did not stay out of trouble until about my late twenties..in and outta Jail ,Boot camps,gladiator schools in Youth authority .... I was involved with all kinds of drug dealing drug using, violence in and out of jail my mindset was ruined at a young age with this institutionalization they don't understand the damage it has on a young adolescent mind being in 24-hour lockdown at 15 years old i was incarcerated as an adolescent at 13 all the way to 18 not straight thru but damn near....abuse by staff and C.O's is rampant .I had my arm broken,many things have happened, I agree for a child this is no place there is no correctional.. it's just punishment no rehabilitation nothing in youth juvenile detention centers...

I feel like prisoners are treated to harshly like they aren’t human. If you don’t rehabilitate and treat them like a human being how do you expect them to sucede in society. If you treat prisoners like they at trash they will behave as such

1 year or 2 years prior to their release they should be moved to a program that gets individuals ready to integrate into society

You act violent, act like an animal, mistreat others in an inhumane way, commit crimes to the most petty of them all such as stealing or robbing a lady's purse, you should get treated the same. My sister was being rude, throwing things at me , damaging things at the age of 32, like a child and look.at where it got the b*tch, she got institutionalized in a mental institute.

You mistreat people , act violent, act like an animal , or commit the most petty of crimes like robbing a lady and attempting to steal her purse, you're going to get treated the same. My sister who is 32 for example couldn't control herself, attempted to throw things at me, damaging and destruction of property inside the house, look at where it got her. She got sent to the mental hospital by police. It's prison! You're not going to get the treatment with fine wine and nicely cooked rib eye.
