I hope there will be no clashes as there will be families and all abilities, classes, colours and religions represented, as in June. I think you haven't been sufficiently paying attention to this. You're certainly correct about the likelihood of violent opposition and I'd add, agent provocateur incidents.
You're wrong in three ways :
- While TR is an organiser, its much more than he and his pre-existing movement ( see previous event for other speakers )
- You shouldn't talk about old fascist or NF movement meetings/marches in a way that suggests a sort of equivalence with the attendees on this 27th. The opposition to it will be as you say, but the rally-goers and organisers are not of the same ilk as those historical examples.
- Your estimation of the numbers is probably wrong. Did you not see the attendance of the last one ? Now the big one will be on the 27th.
I too expect trouble. I expect agent provocateurs. I expect differential policing. I expect the attitude of the new government will be worse than the already bad previous one. Courts won't be neutral either.
Questions to you : Would you have them not hold a rally because leftist agitators will exploit it ? @@exsubmariner Just to put my criticism in a balanced wider context, I regard Simon Webb very very highly. He is an asset to our general movement, TR's specific movement, the nation, common sense, humanity. I have a great affection for him no less.
I just think he sometimes has blind spots and also at times makes too much of a thing about being distanced from, how to put it, 'ruffian' elements. If this is so, perhaps his perception of TR is based too much on memory of an earlier, un-evolved TR.
I do think Simon has a blind spot on what's going to be happening at the rally. A good way to get a sense of it , if you are reading this Simon, is to watch the livestream of the last one, on Mayhar Tousi's channel.
I belong to Middle England. I will be there to show that I care about what is happening to my country. I will not be provoked by those wishing to destroy this event. I will wear my GoPro to record the truth of the event and I will be a reliable witness. We know the plan of the bad people, this event marks the start of saving Britain and is important as such.
The last one a month ago was peaceful. The only issue was the police with riot gear blocking the road. You are also comparing the rally with the the NF? You’re kidding yourself, I’ve lived in London since 1979 and am inclined to agree with Simon’s prediction although I don’t think it will be as bad as it was in the seventies when Rock Against Racism and The Anti Nazi League were very prominent.
On June 1st, Tommys first rally numbered about 25,000 people, the left wing did turn up but there was absolutely no trouble. This rally is expected to be larger, what makes you think that the left will outnumber them? Only a few hundred turned up in June.

From what I know of Tommy, he seems to be a good man concerned about his nation. He also seems to be persecuted for only being against tyranny.
He's more concerned about a different nation these days. For example, he took donations to make a documentary about the issue that started his campaigning, but then made one called Shalom instead.

Here is another standard procedure Simon. Plain clothes police mingling amongst the peaceful protesters as part of the group. They Then start the violence from within the peaceful protest after which the police attack the peaceful protest which then has to defend itself and everything becomes a massive chaos legalizing extreme police actions.
This was standard procedure in the Netherlands during all the protests related to co vi d in the Netherlands. The police trampled elderly with horses, people in wheel chairs, blasted women against walls with watercannons, unleashed dogs on people and drove people towards riot police in waiting to get smashed.
They then said the protesters started the violence while their plain clothes members amongst the protesters did it.
All of that to make the protesters look bad and to manipulate public opinion against them and to create reasons to not allowing future protests. Plus it was meant to intimidate the public in relation to future protests.
Fun fact : non of this happened during the an tifa protests in the same period.

One thing I quickly realised as a young student leftie on protests is that many on 'our side' were every bit as intolerant as the bogeymen opposing us, and condoned underhand tactics and aggressive behaviour which the other side rarely (if ever) displayed.
