I’m really just surprised more people haven’t made this connection. Even before I’d even heard of Pachelbel or knew WTF Canon in D was, I thought this song reminded me a *lot* of White Shade of Pale, or the ending themes from Mario 64, SMRPG, and Wario Land 3 (which - surprise - are all Canon variants).
