My god, the amount of effort poured into this video is astounding. Little to no 'filler' generic imagery - always pertaining specifically to the rapidly shifting topic at hand, little comedy bits assisting to drive your points home - sometimes, taken to hilariously drastic extents. Comparing yourself to other youtubers, you're on a whole other level. With all that said, i'm not even halfway through. Oh yea, you got a new sub.
If scott saw the ad for episode for the 80th time and said he will finally choose something different and selects "swim away quietly", then that means that he choose the "lick their feet" option for the first 79 times
I do also think it's worth noting if you want to play the new big games, the xbox series S + gamepass is unmatched. Sure, it's significantly pricier than most the options discussed in this video, but if you value playing the newest games as they come out, it's a competently modern console and a wide lineup of games for just 300 dollars + 20 dollars a month. It isn't true ownership, but I think it is a really good value if you value playing in the current gen.
Know what's my secret? PATIENCE. Wait a few months to a year and catch a sale. Why pay full price for a brand new buggy game when I can get the patched Ultimate edition for a fraction of the price? There's been times where that $60 got me a dozen games, or the entire FarCry series with all DLC. Pick and choose, but be patient... I now own more games than I could possibly play in the rest of my life span.
@OzoneDepleter nah they have not fallen off at all. October 2024 - Remnant 2 and Persona 5 Strikers and a bonus of Jusant September 2024- Guardians of the Galaxy and SpongeBob Cosmic Shake Skipped a few months here July 2024 - Plague Tale Requiem and Ghostrunner 2 May 2024 - Hi-Fi Rush and Yakuza like a Dragon and Steel Rising this one was phenomenal Even when I do skip months it's pretty much always because I already have the games they are consistently the best deal in gaming every month
The patient gamer wins again. I just bought Spiderman remastered, Miles Morales, and God of War 2018 for $110 on Steam for PlayStations sale. Spiderman games were 40% off and God of war was 60% off. The only challenge is that my older PC can run max settings. 60fps on medium settings is all I need, the games look amazing.
Along with eBay, I have scored some solid deals from Mercari. Grabbed the PS4 box set of Kingdom Hearts for about $20 and the PS4 steelbook of Valkyria Chronicles for about $15.
I've been a cheapskate gamer for many years. That's why I buy all of my games on steam. Those sales be crazy. I only ever purchased one game full price and that was Hogwarts legacy. That was actually worth the $60. But it is addicting. I now have over 400 games on steam.
i got a ps5 for my birthday this year, and went to the gamestop next door to the pawn shop i got the ps5 at (they had a better price on the ps5 than gamestop did) and found a used copy of spider man 2 for ps5 there for like, 45ish bucks. i took the floor model case to the cashier to get the disc, assuming that they would put it in the case i brought them...nope, it was one of the crappy gamestop cases with the "graphic design is my passion" looking ass generic cover insert. i swear, i speedran the five stages of grief as i watched them pull out the generic case and put the disc in it.
I went shopping in black Friday one and ot was to buy a switch lite and then go over to the games top within walking distance for a game or two. Had to end up charging a battery file with the police because a woman tried to push me out of the way WITH HER CART. Ended up with some bruised rins and a couple stitches on my head because when I fell from the impact I caught my head on the side of a metal display while going down. Man, I am so glad I have health insurance...
1:31:45 I fuckin did this on accident with Sonic Frontiers on PS4 when I got it for christmas of 2022. Thank god it was on the back of the case and not the front.
the uk don't have yard sales, we have car boot sales. the junk comes to a field or car park and lots of people arrive at once. so only one destination.
Will add one thing for gamepass that you made into a point, the download times, even for the title you used as an example. It has a little cloud icon on the banner for a reason. You can play it without downloading it at all, so long as your WiFi's strong enough to stream it to the console
i remember seeing the sheepwreck island expansion for skylanders swap force ages ago for like £2. it's probably the same price today tbh (obviously not at the same store lol)
Lol, Don't underestimate dollar general because i got a ps2 game from there from mid 2000 and the game is called test drive eve of destruction. My mother got me that game and i picked it out from the bargain bin shelf and it's now worth little bit over $30 dollars with complete copy.
54:03 “…and we know that because I’ll be dead in three years” is pure distilled Scott humor. Also it seems like he actually bought 10 copies of Starfox Zero for a 3 second gag. This is next level YouTubing Edit: THICKEST CROTCH!? lol
I still have to get Hyrule Warriors at some point. I love Dynasty Warrior style games so I know I'll love it but thats not a game I want to casually put my toe into. If I buy HW: Definitive its gonna be one helluva commitment, one that assuredly kills like another dozen games with its expected playtime.
Yeah, Hyrule Warriors is just Dynasty Warriors with Zelda spray paint. Which, if it's your thing, then more power to ya. I just wish I knew that before playing it. I saw it in stores, and legitimately thought it was an actual new Zelda game. It's been so long since I played it that I can't remember if I bought it or played it some other way, I just remember the tremendous disappointment I felt when I realized what it was. It's still a good game for the people who like games like that, it just isn't my cup of coffee.
Considering how much more and more expensive modern gaming is getting these days and the necessity to penny-pinch in this not-Scotless Economy… …Scott…are we the baddies?

My cheapskate gaming tip: learn how to navigate the seven seas, cuz a pirate is free.
It’s crazy how much old used games and systems have shot up in price even after Scott originally filmed this.
Silent hill 3 being £65 be like.

yes that is, in fact, the joke

OG, Definitive or AoC?

9:00 also worth mentioning the GOG Unity Remake of Daggerfall. Massive improvement.
I just discovered today that my local library has a bunch of PS4 and even PS5 games for rent. That's the cheapest of cheap, $0.

Almost certainly

Shoutout to The Big Catch demo, Tacklebox, which came out after this vid. It’s a whole separate game and a fantastic 3D platformer.
Dont forget that now daggerfall has a unity port with all kinds of mods, giving you modern controls, removing chance to hit, updating art assets.
