@@RanyeSouff I don't think they're going to try. Playing it straight would be far more effective I think than trying to make a joke. Maybe something after it happens, but I don't think that there's going to be many jokes made during that scene.

I don't like the lollycon trash that is Prisma illya but I wish there was a happy ending for that kid and yes I know about the original fate route but she still dies young and it's sad and it sucks

I mean, in the og he admits that Shirou is strong. Originally I found it out of place because the original point of the scene was Gilgamesh finally excepting that Shirou was strong and that he had been beat, but I came to like this version.

This is amazing.
Not only does "I Need a Hero" fit this entire scene it's also just a great send off for Shirou's arc in the route. The deep voice really sends me because you expect it to come out of a teenage kid that looks like Shirou. Right in that instance I heard and saw Archer and I fucking love that. Excellent work.
I literally got a notification that my AP was restored in Fate Grand Order at the end of this video. The power of this video literally charged my AP.

The problem with Gil is his over confidence which led to him losing to Shirou

I wont lie. I like the pacing of this better than the actual show. Is that weird? (Edit) by pacing, I meant having the saber fight end, then immediately cut to Shirou fight. Always felt weird that saber and rin had a quiet moment, then cut instantly back to another big fight.
No, I'm used to hearing that sort of thing. First time from something that isn't SAO Abridged though...

I love it. I just kinda wish that at 2:35 instead of boasting about how easy it would be to kill him and his ideals, (which is definitely in line with Gilgamesh's character) he had said, "Then die! Like every other hero!"

@@yinyang452 It's partially inspired by Roman's speech at the end of RWBY Volume 3, but it's also something that has been paraphrased in a lot of other media (mostly because it's true).
This gave me more goosebumps than the original
Honestly my favorite is "you know it’s kind of amusing to me, you spent so much time chastising others for being weak, and here you are failing to keep up with a kid!" There’s legit anger in those words, and Gil’s reaction is expected of him, yelling at Shiro to shut up. It honestly didn’t get enough attention compared to the "because somebody should" line.

Each time I rewatch this, I forget it's a abridged one-shot.
I really do enjoy Drakma’s style of keeping the main story mostly intact, and trying to embrace the reality there and add to it, rather than the tendency some abridgers have to make some characters entirely the butt of the joke, and to reject the prior narrative. This video really just shows another take on Rin’s disdain for Shinji, on Shirou’s heroic obsessiveness, on Gilgamesh’s superiority. It revels in the story already there, giving us more of what it already was.
It’s a nice change of pace, and still can be quite funny, while keeping impeccable drama.
Holy cow that was freaking AWESOME!!! Even though this was just a one-shot, it so well done. You had me when you put the "Holding Out for a Hero" song in this, but you really sold me with your portrayal of Shiro in this BlueDarkmaVA. I always think people ignore the character development Shiro gets in UBW, but those little words "Because somebody should", really capture what the ideals that Shiro tries to live by, honestly that just stuck with me. You've come a long way from those Vanguard dubs I saw you do, this coming from a kinda beginner cardfighter. Hats off to AngryDragonVA for his portrayal of Gilgamesh and giving him a more of a cocky rich white kid vibe. Lennon Drake, you don't fail to make me laugh when you have a character lighten the tone of a serious situation with I guess you can call it meta-humor(?). also nice work to Haven(I looked at the description for you guy's names cause I wanted to give credit where it is due) on the nice Excalibur shout. Keep doing what you guys do.

Gotta admit, I'm used to the Mouthwash version of fate than the real deal, so hearing him not have a voice that incurs a feeling of him being useless is _strange_ to say the least.

This video kinda sums up shiro to his best degree. It explains his dream of being a hero in a few easy lines as well as why he struggles with his ideal hero in the different storylines. Truly epic.

I had to pause this for a moment when I heard I Need A Hero playing. I went from watching Shrek riding a giant gingerbread man to this music to Shirou fighting Gilgamesh to it. If it had been one step further it would have been Cu summoning Wickerman.

I positively enjoyed this video the only critique I could possibly give is that shirou sounds like his balls droppedback at 16. That voice actor would make for a great archer though. But even so I have nothing but compliments for the video. Shirou and gilgamesh conversing about Illya got my feels. While rin insulting shinji gave me chuckle you guys truly out did your selves.
