Honestly wouldn’t shock me if The Wild Robot returned to #1 or even Beetlejuice

Terrifier 2 was affected by lingering covid concerns and mostly played the festival/horror circuit till it hit a limited/slightly wider theatrical release.
The movie didn't need a sequel. That's what went wrong.
Personally, I hate musicals so I refuse to go see Joker 2 but I would recommend Beetlejuice 2, that movie was a blast.
Joker 2 failed because they did not embrace the Joker character and that is what the fans wanted and instead they took a step backwards which really made no sense. Even if they still were fleshing out the Joker character they should have still had the main character moving forward and making him the main person that pushed the story forward and not anybody else (which it was) - this is where the films fails (plus other things which will not be named here). If they had made the film franchise without the Joker character then it would have worked but when you use that IP then fans will have expectations. Also I am just not sure it really even needed a sequel in the first place.
Glad to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a hit - maybe not a good as the first film but I enjoyed it as an entertaining popcorn flick.
Wild Robot is still a film I am curious to see - hoping to maybe get to see it in the next week or so if it is still in the theatres - heard many good things about it.

I'm not a fan of musicals, but when they're done well, they work, like "Chicago." I like "Chicago." I think what went wrong was they should've stuck to the proven formula, like Deadpool & Wolverine did. It's too early for joker to reflect on his past, perhaps a few movies and much carnage later, and even if he does, he should accept the person that he's become. Now was not the time to try a different direction when you're trying to get your studio moving back towards the green

Thanks to excellent reviews and great word of mouth and looking at this weekends upcoming lineup The Wild Robot is going to take back the number 1 spot in my opinion,with the D cinemascore joker 2 is going to plunge next weekend big time

It did fail....no need for a 2 movie...no need to make It a musical. With the good lineup this weekend it will drop quickly. Go watch deadpool wolverine one more time before it leaves theaters before its on physical the end of the month .

I give it an 8/10 and 3/5 but it’s better then original in a lot of ways
I had originally planned on watching Joker 2 in IMAX but after I heard the reviews, I think I should just see it in standard.
Complete Box Office Disaster
I watched it from the Fan Event
And My Wife and I both Hated it
She turned to me at the End and said “ Honey ? What Was the Point ? Why ? “
This was a slap in the face for Fans of the First
The Courtroom Stuff was Drab and when it had some mild momentum story wise it gets interrupted with another song
Then the most egregious crime was that ridiculous ending

Call me crazy but with the disappointment of Joker 2, this really could open up the door for Terrifier 3 to jump up into the top three, if not get the top spot next weekend. Great word of mouth from early screenings and with Saw XI pushed back til next year, it makes it THE horror movie of the season
A movie doesn't necessarily have to deliver exactly what the audience is expecting but at the same time if it doesn't then it does have to accept the consequences of that choice.
I just watched it. It's no masterpiece, but I can't help but enjoy this version of The Joker. Lady Gaga's take on Harley Quinn is interesting and the music was right up my alley. If I'm the only one with this opinion I'm happily sticking to my guns
I think one of the reasons the movie didn't do well is because of the song choices they made, most of the songs were from the '40s to the '50s. And the movie felt too slow for me. Wish Harrley Qiunn's character had a better storyline, where she was the psychiatrist for Joker's case but she also obsesses with Joker's character. People walk out on the movie that I saw.
I gave Joker2 a 2 out of 5. It was nothing but a rehashing of the first movie and not needed at all. I saw
Terrifier 3 and it’s disgustingly gory and violent.
I’ll wait for streaming so I can fast forward past the musical parts.

As far as i am concerned they should have continued with the story they build up in Joker 1. No Harley or songs just continue as Arthur enters complete madness...that would have been a way more interesting film to watch than this.
Anyway next weekend i don't think Terrifier 3 will get that high, its currently tracking to do around 4-8 million....i can see it do 5 to 6 by this time next weekend. My bet for best opening next weekend is on Saturday Night which is going wide and has been receiving praise from critics and that is tracking towards a 10-15 million dollar weekend. Will it be enough to beat Joker 2 ? i see it at least drop 60 % which would put it around 16 million but seeing as the movie is suffering right out of the gate i can see it do a drop into the 70 % area and then Warner would be in real trouble !!
We shall see where everything will fall next weekend.

I believe that both Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix insulted the fans of the first film with the story of this one, Sue. I know when I heard that this was going to be a musical, I was disappoint because it didn't make any sense to me. Of course, the ending of the film didn't help either.
honestly I think the fanhood are holding their ground. the magic has to pop at day 1 announcement. sequelitis disease

I did not care for the first movie. I am just not a fan of Joker, the character, in general. I am definitely skipping this.

And Saturday Night was not good. Very little characterization. Very little insights to the magic that was SNL.
I have 3 thoughts on this movie's "failure". First, 2 words: Margot Robbie. This movie miscast Gaga as the Harley Quinn character. When you have an established character, should keep the same person in the part. My second thought is that this movie may have been considered DC garbage given that HBO's Penguin isn't even anything like the Penguin character from the comics or other previous incarnanations. One Batman villain story killed another because of overload. Finally, I only saw this movie advertised a couple of times and being an R rated movies turns off and bans a major part of the audience that probably wanted to see it. I didn't go see it, but I presume that a re-edit could make this available to a wider audience and make it a PG-13 film. These are just my blind thoughts of why Joker 2 failed and should be a warning that when things change, the audience won't accept it.
Do you agree Folie A Deux dosen't deserve all the hate? I for one absolutely loved it as much as Joker 2019!

The movie was awful. This was more like a Lady Gaga movie. Also do we really need another version of Quinn.
