That was some outstanding horsemanship! Notice how calm and in control the 2nd roper who brought her to the trailer was. He put everyone, including the mule at ease. That's the skill of a true to heart cowboy. I certainly hope he trains for a living. He'd be great at it.
The horse people comments are the very best on RUclips. They act like this is a professional mule catching team and "these guys don't know what they are doing." Of course the bit witches have to chime in and then there are 150 comments about all their bona fides and how long they have been riding, bra size, etc. The My Little Pony crowd shows up to say they should have walked up and gave it hug. I'd bet 99% don't even own a rope, much less ever thrown a loop, but feel qualified to critique. They did get the mule into the trailer.
The one voice of reason in the cancerous congregation of horse crazies, it seems I can never go into a roping or rodeo related video’s comment section without some self-proclaimed experts telling everyone that techniques developed over hundreds of years are some how wrong and need to be stopped entirely; absolutely ridiculous... like anyone ever listens to them anyway. All they do is piss everyone off.
Jessica Baamonde I own 4 horses and I have about 6+ acers of land, well my family does. What makes YOU think I like pain? I use bits when riding, but I MAKE SURE they are safe and my horses are as well. I bet you’re one of those brainwashed reighley fans. Not ALL bits are abusive, SOME are some aren’t.
Jessica Baamonde Since I ride only 2 horses, I only have 2 bridles. Both fit. One is bitless and the other one isn’t. I ride both bitless and with bit. I prefer riding with a bit, but sometimes I ride bitless for fun. Not all bits are harmful and cause pain. The bit I use is horse friendly. I asked before i bought it. So PLEASE think again before saying I like pain.
Dakota Goldcloud You asked? Who? Your horse or the salesman trying to sell it to you? I guarantee your horse doesn’t enjoy it. Even though the nice salesman said it was “friendly”.
Little known fact most mature mules can outrun and outlast any horse. A friend of mine lived in Kansas and a neighbor that lived close to him had basically 30 feral horses and 10 mules. When the old man died with the mules and horses the Cowboys rounded up and caught the horses without much trouble the mules on the other hand would jump the fence and head for Nebraska when they pulled up with the horse trailers,it was hilarious it took them four months to catch the mules and then they had to spend a lot of time and money on a trap! After about a month a vet suggested they just shoot the mules which of course went over none to well with the city people that got involved after the story went viral!! I would call him every week and ask him catch the mules yet?? He started getting tired of that question!! Haha
i dont think thats because they can out run or last a horse, i think its because they are part donkey and donkeys are assholes....i used to get upset when people called my a jackass, but after a few years ive called him so much worse...things are to damn smart and determined to do what they want.
chair362 it was back in the 80s so I doubt there is a link not on the internet but I was going to google it and see if anyone has ever really proven it but I know some jock ices in Mexico swear that a good young big strong mule can do both. A few mammoth jacks in Mexico bred to thoroughbred mares and the offspring are fast and clever!! This one they caught is small and young not much of a challenge for a horse.
What was the point of the second dude roping her. The first one did it fine and the guy that did it the second time couldn’t even get her when he tried the first three times. Also why was he saying so much unnecessary comments? It was fine till the second roper guy jumped in then it all went wrong.....
Nice looking mule. Wonder why she was brought in for shoeing if her basic training is so poor? Needs better handling. Loads well though, and obviously nothing to do with the idiots crowding her. She looked quite familiar and comfortable with the trailer.
KAT Please remember that not all Amish treat their animals like that. I lived near Amish country and they treated their work animals fairly well. There are cruel people, yes, but there's no need to bash an entirety of them just from the actions of a loud few.
Nicely done. And folks, unless you know how to push a rope, you need two ropes to prevent the mule from darting in front of or behind your first horse, tangling the rope and causing a wreck. With two ropes you can walk it in lined out between the two horses just as they did. All was accomplished quietly and efficiently. Even a lap dog pet horse is going to be tanked up and hard to catch if it's loose in a strange place. As you can see when they got it back to the trailer the little mule was quiet and seemed to lead OK. Well done.
very good roping of your friend to the mule... he ran very well on that horse. just that you did not need to do that just take the rope off ... more practice for the other
Beautiful property and im sure she could of been caught up with a calm hand and a grain bucket! But maybe they needed practice. Still I'd love to live here with my horses. Beautiful!
My granddad, a Wyoming cowboy, always told me he much preferred mules to horses for riding. A mule has sense and if you had too much to drink at the barn dance lay across his back and you will get home. They are less prone to running into fences and breaking their necks if they spook. I was on a trail ride with a friend in northern Texas. She was riding a well seasoned cowpony and I was riding Pretty Boy Floyd, her mule. We came up on a gully and surprised a mountain lion eating a rabbit. The lion took off in one direction, and our mounts took off in the opposite direction. But the horse bolted all the 2 miles back to the house in 105F temperatures. My mule bolted a few yards, looked back over his shoulder, saw the threat was gone, and calmly went back to a walk.
Why does everyone hate on this guy? It's his method and seems to be working. I have my methods for rounding up cattle. It's not anyone's place to be telling someone how to farm or herd a mule. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Just my opinion but the first guy had the mule roped ...at that point they could have let everything calm down and relax ...there was no need to chase the mule down and throw another rope...then straight back and load it on the trailer ....so much rope around vehicles ...it could have gotten messy ...the mule was pretty easy to handle and a good thing....just my opinion :)
Why make the mule more nervous and agitated? She needs time to relax, understand that people aren’t going to hurt her. At leastShe needed to walk back to the barn after she’d been roped.made no sense to canter back and rush to contain her. A little patience and calm goes a long way when dealing with a nervous/frightened equine.
I saw a lot of good horse and mulemanship. Negative comments are from ignorant ppl. Good to and positioning. I didn't see showing off but good instructions and encouragement. Thank you for the video.
Recovering Soul While barefooting is considered the idea for horses, there are times when shoes are necessary. Horses that pull abnormal amounts of weight require shoes to prevent their hoofs from wearing down. Shoes are often used to protect racing horses that have weak hoof or leg muscles. They are also used to give horses extra traction in the snow and ice. Plus, overgrown and cracked hooves are very bad and can kill the horse due to infection.
The mule looks young. She probably had no one to mess with her feet. Think logically people, someone probably previously spooked her. The guy being a showoff didnt help and that could have been a 2 person operation, but otherwise I see nothong wrong.
I am glad you caught the mule. :) But if she is socialized,or knows you,why didnt you just try by walking towards her,and not chase her with horses, putting more pressure at her end?No hate, just asking..Or guiding her with horses back?(i personally i do not like roping,it stresses the animal ,and it can get hurt)
I was wondering if there was a law against dismounting. :) Once she is roped, somebody could have dismounted, walked to her, fashioned a halter real fast (plenty of rope) and ponied her back to the barn. Whatever. They did catch her. (She can't be "wild" as they had her there to be shod.)
What people don’t understand is a mule is built to pull horses are built to ride a mule can out pull a horse so having a second horse holding the mule is the best option and it keeps the mule from running in a circle
Why do i have that miserable feeling that many mules are treated like they are dangerous suspects. That molly now has a experience with people she never forget! she is so scared she fears for her life she still is a full donkey never forget that
Have you ridden a horse before? At a fast enough speed to catch a mule? There’s a lot of movement happening from the way a horse runs. The guy on the horse will be moving up and down and back and forth. He’s also raising his arm up to throw the rope. It’s hard work.
LOL, why the rope? You could‘ve just drove her back in with how many people where there. Unless that mule hasn’t been handled properly which is what it looks like. Mule looks really nice though. She seems really upset though, however I do like that you went slow with her while taking her into the trailer. Very nice. No hitting or scaring her into the trailer, just old fashioned pressure.
My pony use to roll under the fence and get out all the time and I just put food and carrots and apples in his feed bucket and shake it and he’s run back to him pin
That’s a really nice looking mule. She has pretty markings and coat color.
kroakie4 she also has a dick
@ScreenSlaver Arts he said "I got her"
haha blood setter
kroakie4 but at the same time he calls him a she maybe trans

There's always that guy who tells everybody what to do to make himself look like he knows what hes doing.
Connie Wolf Oh please, you’re not those brainwashed “bits are abuse” people are you?!
Dakota Goldcloud You’re not the brainwashed “my horse LOVES PAIN” person are you?

somebody didn't want pretty new shoes! :-)
Esme and Gracie I have Amish friends they don’t abuse there animals
Esme and Gracie I agree my pony was abused by Amish and can’t be riding because of the dent in her spine and sores on her ears
never saw a mule with that tail
The new Red Dead Redemption game looks amazing!!
They ride a different way, they know different stuff, don't go on throwing hate at them
Me playing red dead redemption trying to catch a horse😂😂😂😂

I love the color of this guys horse
What a GORGEOUS mule!!! 👀 👀

Soon as he got in there he wanted all the glory when the first guy already had it under control 👌
Rachel Hammer .
L.”
Ok
Joshua Castillo what?
Rachel Hammer maybe the first guy was capable of ponying a mule behind or his horse may have been spooky about it.
Nice looking mule. Wonder why she was brought in for shoeing if her basic training is so poor? Needs better handling. Loads well though, and obviously nothing to do with the idiots crowding her. She looked quite familiar and comfortable with the trailer.
You could just reason with the mule over a cup of coffee and see whats getting at him
Sundenly everybody is a horse roping expert
SO much fun! Thanks for filming and posting this! She's a pretty little thing..
The mule is actually running for his life from the Amish farrier. Have you seen what the Amish do to their animals?
KAT Please remember that not all Amish treat their animals like that. I lived near Amish country and they treated their work animals fairly well. There are cruel people, yes, but there's no need to bash an entirety of them just from the actions of a loud few.
This is probably the most action these guys and their ropes have seen in a long time....
It’s funny how he’s out of breath but he dint run or walk the horse did lmao

probably the only person vouching for its escape.. Self preservation Y'all 😂
very good roping of your friend to the mule... he ran very well on that horse. just that you did not need to do that just take the rope off ... more practice for the other
the voice is just how I imagined
I WANNA BE A COOOWBOOY BABY 😂😂😂
(Edit) oh yeah and that is a pretty mule
Wow....what an amazing skill, well done like you've done that a few thousand times
Beautiful property and im sure she could of been caught up with a calm hand and a grain bucket! But maybe they needed practice. Still I'd love to live here with my horses. Beautiful!
Such a pretty mule
Best video yet. I really enjoyed riding with you. When can we go again please?? Stroke here. Never dreamed I’d ride again THANKYOU
Good video, can't stand the stupid comments tho
Boy I absolutely love your accent!!!
I love the mules tail
Good job and thanks for sharing. Have a nice day.
Nice lope on that mule -- and well done calmly catching a canny rascal who isn't in the mood to "play nice" with the farrier.
Mule is the best animal to ride , horse will lay down on you ,mule still going , mule is badass
My granddad, a Wyoming cowboy, always told me he much preferred mules to horses for riding. Tim Ditmore psh
Horse Girl pshhhh...
Tim Ditmore lol ikr

Yeah, my reaction too. Why chase that poor animal like that?
I like mule nice color and training mule
I love that tail
That was some SMOOOOOTH video at a gallop!!
Yipeeee! And a good time was had by all. ☺
God Job, Great horse
Despite the caution addressed whilst handling the mule he seemed like a lovely calm pussy cat to me.
Great work
That was awesome to watch! That mule is a fast one!
Fascinating - especially for an English person! You do things differently over there!
Great work!!
Watch the rest of the guys videos !!!!!! They have watched to many cowboy movies 😂😂😂 goof troop
shes super cute!
just a personal observation, here, but it seems like this rider likes to reenact scenes from Gunsmoke
what exactly did they do that was so dumb? and what should they have done?...looks to me they caught it and loaded it pretty damn easy and quick
Self-proclaimed experts just want something to complain about
Just my opinion but the first guy had the mule roped ...at that point they could have let everything calm down and relax ...there was no need to chase the mule down and throw another rope...then straight back and load it on the trailer ....so much rope around vehicles ...it could have gotten messy ...the mule was pretty easy to handle and a good thing....just my opinion :)
They shouldn’t have run after it and the guy videoing was telling everyone what to do and playing boss
You don’t chase a spooked animal
Yep.
Well done! I thought you were going for her hind legs and was about to freak out. Lol
non nono naw he just can’t rope
I knew before I even made it to the comment section, there would be a firestorm of negative statements. 🙄
Ya they dont understand probably bunch of city kids sitting on the couch xD but everyone can have a opinion ig

Good job catching that mule! It was pretty cool seeing this video
Another mule smarter than a human
Love your horse, very smart, isn't it.
RDR 2 looks amazing in 4K!
I saw all your video's..its soo amasing, nice greetings from thailand, a german to live there
Now I want a mule 😂😂☺️😂
One was probably enough but I’m always surprised on how fast those mules can move
Bonnie's Big Adventure
Good sensible horse
Dang that Mule can RUNNNN!!!
If they didn't chase it the mule wouldn't be as scared they just hyped it up
I saw a lot of good horse and mulemanship. Negative comments are from ignorant ppl. Good to and positioning. I didn't see showing off but good instructions and encouragement. Thank you for the video.
that was interesting, and instructions on what NOT to do.
Go go go yaaaaaa! Love it
Mules yikes!!! Nice catch.
What great work between horse and rider
what rope are you swinging there. looks great
If I lived with the Amish I would try to escape as well!! Damn animal abusers!!
Connie Wolf true
This mule doesn't want shoes. I don't blame her. Horses don't need shoes or metal bits in their mouths.
This comment is against Amish people, very inappropriate.
Totally agree!

QE LINDA BURA TUBIANA
Sure would save everybody’s time if the owner taught this mule how to connect up. Then you wont have to worry about catching her.
I agree but some people dont have time or know how cuz my parents have a wild mule they didnt have time to work with
Poor mule. Let it be itself and run wild😭💞
Seriously? Run wild? If would die out there. And it's also in someone else's field
beautiful mule
Im the mule when it comes to shoe shopping
This was great! I loved the chase. Nice how you all handled the mule. I'm from Indiana.
Dumbest thing I have ever seen.
Dumbest way to handle horses and mules
One white foot buy em
Two white feet try em
Three white feet be on the sly
Four white feet pass em by
This dudes breathing all heavy and the horse is going all the running lol. Just kidding God job men
Steer roping minus the steer
I’d be afraid of the Amish too, poor thing. If the Amish owned him, I bet he didn’t live since they “don’t tolerate” stuff like that
ignorant.
3 men,3 horses and 1 mule, mule wins!!
Oh I have worked on a ranch. Have you dms?
What kind of ropes you use?
Good job no animals were hurt !
Nice vid. I really dont understand roping it with the 2nd rope though? It was already caught.
glenncountry. "I just have to be the center of attention" syndrome.

Why is he breathing hard?? He isn’t the one that’s running 💀💀💀🤦♀️😂
riding is hard work, especially western style

How Many Times Do You Need To Say , " Hang on ? "
Good job, and everybody got some exercise too!
Where can i buy the same rope u have. The one u lasso the mule with
Cool heads and common sense....nice job.
clem miller I seen no common sense. These people no little about animals.
My pony use to roll under the fence and get out all the time and I just put food and carrots and apples in his feed bucket and shake it and he’s run back to him pin
Felicitaciones por la maña de poner la cámara para hacernos ver una corrida y una enlazada de la mula Me diverti muucho
The mule was soooo scared
This looks like the kinda thing that would happen in Missouri ( that’s where I live)
