That pace maker smashed his half marathon best time (by like 30 seconds) and kept pacing for a little while after that…he deserves sooo much respect for that
Considering he had to outpace Eliud I’d say he schedules his training around a hard effort and this must’ve been the hardest effort so no surprise he PR’d, just my opinion
The dude who's handing kipchoge the bottles is a total rock star ⭐️ Also, I love his little celebration each time he successfully hands off a bottle. So cute!
Kipchoge tactics are insane . He has the mind capacity to run alone and that its a hard thing. You cant beat a runner who can take 20 last km alone with the same rythme.
The difference between Kipchoge and the second runner was more than 5 minutes,,,that's just explains how fast Kipchoge is,,,,,congratulations champ,,,and big up to that japanese runner,he was amazing.
Somebody should have rammed in stick in that guys spokes. He reminds me of the two chumps that run on the field when Hank Aaron broke the Bambino’s HR record. He deliberately slowed down and crowded Kipchoge, even to the point of crossing the wrong finish line, the organizer at the end almost had to physically intercede. Talk about a classless move. Guy should be ashamed of himself.
@@Nobody-xe9fc Hank Aaron, being the great and generous person that he was, took no offense to their actions and in later years met them a couple of time. Saying they were friends is a huge stretch though. On the night he broke the record Hank did not know those 2 high schoolers at all. They were both arrested and taken to jail that night. Despite Hank’s graciousness towards them, they had no business being on that field that night. The home run record, much like a marathon record, is a moment of singular triumph. Aaron deserved to have the spotlight to himself on that trip around the bases in 1974. Just as Kipchoge, who very literally separated himself from the rest of humanity that morning, deserved to be alone on that final straightaway (you’ll notice all of the other wheelchair racers in the vicinity and all of the bikers, pace cars and organizers pulled away after the Brandenburg Gate). I mean, it’s not like it’s some horrible crime or anything - I just personally think it’s a classless move.
Probably it will sound bad but those guys running on the wheel chair almost run over him 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️.at the end line really , can you at least trying to stay out of the way , I understand that is remarkable run a maratón on a wheel chair but exactly when he is arriving they are just on his way
As well as Kiptum. I think the announcer was delusional to suggest it wouldn’t be broken for decades and that sub 2 hour was impossible. Records are made to be broken. Kipchoge the GOAT paved the way, and I think if Kelvin Kiptum stays healthy he could go under 2 in Berlin in within the next 5 years. The 201:25 he threw down in the rain in London with a 59:45 second half was absolutely insane. Whatever happens though, I can’t wait to watch it.
Lol there was only 2k left in the race. Probably didn’t effect the time at all, missing the last bottle isn’t really a big deal. Notice that was the only one without a handoff? He’d have had to literally break the world record mile by a wide margin to hit sub 2 at that point.
Anyone else like me is very annoyed by all those cyclists and bikes that are always too close to the front runners going left and right all the time ? so annoying
I hope that wheelchair racer got banned after his disgraceful behavior at the end of the race. Talk about having zero class, and zero respect for Kipchoge. He damn near went through the wrong finish line, probably would have if one of the organizers hadn’t finally intervened at the end. It’s a shame no one stopped him sooner.

In my life I never thought the time would come when I would be sitting down watching hours and hours of someone just running. I mean.... just running
Me neither! Since I’ve learned of Kipchoge, I’ve been watching marathons regularly. ♥️💪🏼🔥🏃♂️
He really does inspire me with my running targets.

@Kai Smithley lol
One of the greatest feats a man has ever achieved.
The world record was missed by 2 seconds just a year later lol. What a real shock
Kichoge didn't look tired at all at the finish line! Seems that he still had some gas left in the tank to be faster!
The greatest of all times.
Acorrida toda dele ele corre como de fosse o primeiro k.....sensacional❤
