Bekele dominated the 3km, 5km, 10km, short and long cross country races with an incredible finishing skill. On the other hand, Kipchoge dominated on marathon and has an amazing endurance. Both are legends!
Elluid Kipchoge should have started as a marathoner. He is more of an endurance athlete than a sprinter. Imagine if he had the chance to beat the 2 hour mark when he was in his 20s. damn
I actually disagree, because there are Kenyan and Ethiopian runners who are young and join marathons for the sole reason that it makes more money than other distances. But in most cases, it ends up with them being injured quite badly and not being able to compete anymore. And another thing is that the main thing that you lose when you get into your 30s is speed much more than endurance so I don’t think eliud would have been much faster in the marathon at a younger age and it would probably end poorly

Rudisha for me.
My current goals are a 25' 5k, 50' 10k, and 15' 3k. For me, a consistent 5' per km is tough for longer than one km. In short, those paces and times are unfathomable, and I cannot describe the level of respect I have for all those guys...!
Kipchoge just kills with his ability to seemingly run forever at a fast pace, but Bekele was simply faster. I’ve got my money in kipchoge on October 4th
Let me take your money then haha
5000 meters is just too short for Kipchoge, he excels at endurance, not at sprinting distances like the 5000 meters.
@@ks-yl9ed I wouldn’t consider a 5k a sprint, it’s a tactical race
Easy money! 😭🤣
Kipchoge was a victim of Kenya's Athletics irrational policy of not allowing our track superstar athletes to do the double like they used to do in the 60s and 70s. The officials have denied the Kenyan elite athletes the versatility of doing a double or even a triple and therefore have denied them a chance to greatness. What other athletes from other countries like Kenenisa, Gebrselassie, and Mo Farrah enjoy is taken for granted. Being allowed only one event is a lot of pressure in my opinion. When Bernard Lagat moved from team Kenya to team USA that's when Lagat made his greatness due to the versatility he enjoyed with team USA.
Bekele in his prime 2001-2005 he was absolutely untouchable. Kipchoge was no slouch in his prime either but he just did not have that strength that Bekele had.
But now in 3 weeks time we will see these two titans of distance running against each other one last time. I believe Bekele will retire after this race if he gets world record.
Bekele is a track runner
Kipchoge is a road runner
It amazing how things switched when Bekele jumped into Kipchoges world.
I believe a world record is coming.
Bekele was not in his prime in 2001-2005. He was in his prime in 2003-2009
One last time? Tokyo 2021 mate
Is it an eligable course?
@Anthiny Mcqueen Bekele has proven himself to be a roadrunner too, maybe not as much as Kipchoge but definitely, he has.... e.g. the 2019 marathon.
I believe if not that the later part of Bekele career is been plagued by injuries, he would give Kipchoge a run for his titles.
If nothing at all....Bekele always has the juice left for the last kick.....In all his races, provided he is fit.
El Gerouj, Bekele, Kipchoge in one image: three absolute legends.
Kipchoge has aged like fine whisky he's currently a monster but Bekele is the track master it was very hard to beat him in his prime just the same way Kipchoge is in the marathon.

The hardwork and humility of these 2 athletes makes them great not only in elite running but in the entire world of professional athletics.

Phenomenal video compilation and narrative. Best comparison ever of the two we’ve seen, and so timely !
Let me add that its in God’s hands now. Bekele of course will benefit the most from a London victory, for it is simply this discipline alone which further secures his title as king or G.O.A.T. in long distance running history, including the modern era, whereas Kipchoge will most likely continue breaking tapes and perhaps records for the remainder of his dominant marathon career. My belief is Bekele has been saving his best for last to avoid any further injury. No predictions. Anything can happen, and Kenenisa Bekele has really epitomized the idiom throughout his unprecedented career. My wish is for successful completion of the race, regardless outcome, and that the weather and track will be favorable in London, Sunday, Oct.4th., for all the athletes and the world.
Loved ittt
17:57, oh my G-d, I was not expecting this.
I'll be rooting for Bekele, but I think Kipchoge will take this one. He's simply been too consistent, and I don't see him getting outrun.
SUBBED!
I know about this stuff, but to see it laid out in this video is marvelous!
Good work on this video! 👏🏽
Bekele is on another level, even if you compare him to Kipchoge
Ofc not. Kipchoge is clearly the GOAT just like Bolt
@@huskiehuskerson5300 Bekle is the Bolt of distance running. Kipchoge failed against Bekele
They are both GOATS 🐐
I believe Mosinet Geremew
will be the winner from this event.
even we Ethiopians don't expect much from him
This is amazing work thanks
Greay video! Txs for delivering!
"this is called foreshadowing"

Your channel has turned me into an absolute track and field fan.
Fantastic editing and video editing. Certainly worth a follow/subscription.
9 minutes in the video, and I see no (battle) there, only one-sided beating by Bekele
