One of my favorite comedians of all time Red Skelton. You never knew what was going to happen on Red’s show. It was the best ad lib show of all, and it always would put a smile on all of my family’s faces. RIP Red, may your memory and dedication to decent comedy inspire others….👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I cannot express how much I love old comedy! Talented, genuine, doesn't slip into vulgarity. I feel like this is something we've lost and cannot recreate today.
So glad someone posted about Red Skelton's Pledge Of Alligance to our Country's flag. Now I can't quit watching him. A truly great man, comedian & Patriot. R.I.P RED.
Oh, what a laugh! Such a great old-fashioned laugh! Good "Red." A man who knew how to work through adversity. I admire him! And God bless Phyllis for being "on" all the time.
Red and Phyllis 2 of the best comedians in the world. No foul language no insults just pure fun and hilarious comedy. Love them both! There will never be any one that can ever take their place in the world of comedy. They are truly missed
My Grandmother used to be upfront in his audience. Red said to her before one scene "Lady I wish you'd come to all my Shows , you laugh at everything"...
I usually had to wait until the summer reruns to catch his shows ....... those were the days the prime time season ran from Sept thru May and then you got to see some of the shows again june thru august.
Some are doomed from birth. You will never know what a beautiful thing it was, to watch good clean fun on your first TV, at home, with your family. And so innocent were our minds. No bloody scenes, no sex. Bet there will be more than a few that makes fun of this. That's cause you'll never know what I mean. RIP RED AND PHILLIS AND FANG
I like how back in that time, the director couldn't yell out "cut!" in the middle of a scene. This was live tv. If one person like Phyllis made someone like Red laugh, you couldn't stop. They would just laugh and go on. That's what really makes ME laugh with TV like this. Red was amazing
The fact that Red is constantly laughing during the skit shows he's not takin it seriously. He's just having fun and knows the skit has some dumb jokes in it. Phyllis makes fun of the dumb jokes too. funny stuff.
I saw an interview with him once and they asked him why he laughed during his shows and his answer was, "if everyone else is laughing why shouldn't I "?
I had the privaledge to meet Phyllis Diller in the mid 60s.. and Red Skelton in the late 80s.. I wish we had cell phones back then so i could of taken a selfy with them both..
When you watch one of these clips today it seems so silly. But, when I watched this TV show in first run, it was the funniest thing around. It's been too many years to remember but the bottom line is I love Red's work.
Back in the days when people lived down-to-earth lives; they were in touch with reality and were entertained by even the softest humor. Red Skelton - some who came afterward thought of him as a 'comedian's clown', and clean as a whistle. Phyllis Diller - Used self-deprecating humor like no one else could, and talked of her husband, "Fang". She once said, "When I was born, the doctor slapped EVERYBODY."
This had to been Reds n.b.c period.I remember for years watching him on c.b.s, since 1960 , by 1970 or 70 something he makes a move to n.b.c .This was my favorite show for a long time.C.b.s need to reissue the video tapes of the early shows of his 1960 's period.Only kine scopes have been available .But his video tapes are own by c.b.s .The red Skelton estate it's Kinescopes , except for the 1970's period
Likely someday (if ever you want to sell it) that autograph will be worth something on Antiques Roadshow & elsewhere. As for your generation ... they have a lifetime (of weekend leisure) ahead at YTube, seeing clips of these great vintage comedians!
I miss shows like this, but some of them age better than others. I agree, this is a lot of mugging and self-congratulating. I respect the comics and their careers though. They come from a different era of comedy, which television has largely killed.
Indeed. She got the only recognition she ever wanted at the end of her life, which was to go out as a classy-lady. Funny, because I always thought of her in that way in-life, as well? No celebs today with enough honor, to be able to laugh at/with themselves anymore. Not enough money &/or fame in it, let alone being non-PC, in todays' gone-to-hell world...
These were the dayswen comedy was so funny Uou laugh your ass off But clean no cuss words aan classy it was the end of Of reility now they relly have to add all kindsof other stuf to getthe same laughs !!!’
Good clean comedy?? Are you all kidding?? Did you miss all of those raunchy inuendos and ad libs?? "I've been frigid got years"...""I'm flat all over"...
It's funny because it is an innuendo and not in your face as it were. That is a mild line anyway. I'm flat all over is just describing herself and making fun of herself. Not anything raunchy at all intended by this Les Toil. it is still in good taste. Mr. Skelton was so funny in this. Looking for something to criticize is all.
ah yes! back in the good ole days when comedians were smart and funny and didnt use f-bombs to be funny - question is are todays comedians worse or are todays audiences simply more stupid.

That's when comedy was entertaining and funny but not vulgar.
Richard Red Slelton: The kindest, gentlest comedian in history, a true patriot and legend. "Goodnight, and may God bless!"
I love Red Skelton and miss him so much. Comedy hasn't been the same since he passed away. :(
Best ever Red skeleton comedian
I watched his show when I was a little girl, I still love him. Best show ever. I hate the shows of today. Love ❤️ Red. Thank you 😊

I remember watching Red Skeleton when I was a kid. He was so funny to watch and is humour was clean. He still is so much fun to watch.
As a 22 year old I greatly appreciate Red's comedy. I wish I had the opportunity to see these shows on TV
You're 28 now. Or dead.
Trevor Stillin or See him live in theater 🎭
And I’ll be 65 in six months

IThis reminds me of my late husband.. They had the same laugh. RED was his Uncle...
My Grandmother used to be upfront in his audience. Red said to her before one scene "Lady I wish you'd come to all my Shows , you laugh at everything"...
This is what I call good, clean comedy! Long live Phyliss Diller & Red Skelton!!!
I love these! Brings back such good memories and laughs!
I remember as a kid watching Red Skelton every week. I also liked his movies where he played the crime fighter The Fox.
I usually had to wait until the summer reruns to catch his shows ....... those were the days the prime time season ran from Sept thru May and then you got to see some of the shows again june thru august.
My ex wife wasn't very good at housekeeping so i would call her Sheriff Deadass, really pissed her off.
Phyllis diller was a wonderful comic.
So funny, Phyllis Diller wasn't a puny varmint❤she was a FUNny,PUNny LADY, And Red was REDdy fer anythin'❤😊
Phyllis made any comedy skit POP! She was priceless. Let me repeat, PRICELESS!
thanks for bringing back memorys...grandpa never missed this show and us grandkids had to shut up when it was on....

Forgot about Fang.
Two of my favorite crazies!!! Thanks for posting.
When comedy was good and wholesome and no foul language. The Good ole days.
hmmmm how is profanity funny? strange they did BETTER without it back then.
When comedy was super great
Thanks for the post, guy pretty funny; seemed to enjoy himself in these episodes : D
Two of the most brilliant comedian ever live
It was the golden age of television comedy and it was great!
Skelton NEVER stuck to the script. That is what made his show so good. Phyllis Diller also could ad lib.
Imagine him and Robin Williams.
With so many greats of comedy who explored different areas of laughter it's hard for the young to get started. I still love the oldies.
Red was a man of many talents including writing his own music scores this special talent is well miss and let him always rest in peace
I like how back in that time, the director couldn't yell out "cut!" in the middle of a scene. This was live tv. If one person like Phyllis made someone like Red laugh, you couldn't stop. They would just laugh and go on. That's what really makes ME laugh with TV like this. Red was amazing
Great memories! I do miss the days when *this* was what we watched on TV. Now, pffffffttt... prime time on TV is nothing more than crap.
WHAT A MAN! grew up watching this man perform with jackie gleason!

I love these! Brings back such good memories and laughs!
Red and Phillis were awesome funny and hilarious love them always will❤❤
To these great folks..Rest In Peace! They were and still are a great part of my fun life as seen on TV.
The fact that Red is constantly laughing during the skit shows he's not takin it seriously. He's just having fun and knows the skit has some dumb jokes in it. Phyllis makes fun of the dumb jokes too. funny stuff.
soulman2000: Hey ! like Red said "don't take life too seriously because you'll never get out of it alive."

Laughter is now up to all of us!
need it gotta have it
need it gotta have it
need it gotta have it
Isn't it amazing he didn't have to use "blue humor" to make people laugh? That . . . was his genius!
Thats the sad thing about it notthing will ever be the same as the good old days
Likely someday (if ever you want to sell it) that autograph will be worth something on Antiques Roadshow & elsewhere. As for your generation ... they have a lifetime (of weekend leisure) ahead at YTube, seeing clips of these great vintage comedians!
I think they mostly wrote this skit for the actors themselves they're getting a bigger kick out of it than the rest of us but it's still funny!
Oh for TV shows like this once again.....
Killer Dillar: " They're coming to take me away ha-ha!"
While I absolutely love both of them, Phyllis Dillers laugh is glorious. Two of my favorite comedians.
Red Skelton was comedy that is when they had real comedy this crap that is now sucks green pickles
Oh lord, so funny!!
That dumb laugh kills me!
I wish i could see the Wanted poster more clearly! 00:06
32 people do not appreciate clean humor.
i think some people just down vote as a hobby.
dakotahstr I think I might be the only kid at my school that Even knows who he is and that's sad because he was hilarious
I miss shows like this, but some of them age better than others. I agree, this is a lot of mugging and self-congratulating. I respect the comics and their careers though. They come from a different era of comedy, which television has largely killed.
I feel REAL bad for the (now) 54 who can't appreciate verbally clean humor.
.
Why focus on that
Steaming mad :)
What a nightmare LOL
I like Phillis and Minnie Pearl.
Clean if you don't see all the double entendre...
Now we know why Michael Jackson were one White glove.
I need help.
When was this recorded?
I'm guessing late 1960s.
When tv was worth watching
I agree with you Mike 100% +
What was the actual date this video was made. some time in the 60's I imagine
