I LOVED the Sally Hansen chrome polish! I used it all the time when I was really young, I'm 22. As soon as you took out all your polish and you pulled that out, I was just like OMG that's THE polish! Lol
I would still have it now too if my mom hadn't tossed all my polish away...
I’m definitely your age, I remember loving the silver Sally Hansen chrome polish. This is how my mom felt when she would show me clothes she kept from high school, I was like eeeewww. Well now that’s my reality. Oh and my perfume collection is full of memories. Like your nail polish, I could smell a perfume and be taken back to where I was, what I was doing the first time I wore it.😫 Memories.
I can’t believe how mesmerizing your declutter video just was. I’m an organization freak so maybe that has a bit to do with it but also your voice just happens to be so relaxing.

wait this is so validating because i have a crazy nail polish collection too and i thought based on your most recent videos that you only bought a couple of things here and there because you know yourself and what you like. i've spent so much money on nail stuff all throughout my life and i like to test things out and constantly change and adapt so to see you do that is really awesome!!!!!
have you thought of getting one of those liquids that change nail polish to gel polish? also i'm taking nail tech classes right now and our teacher said you can mix any nail polish with a clear gel polish?? have yet to try.

I threw away all my regular nail polishes as soon as I get gel polishes. Even the simplest manicure is a lot faster with gel polishes bc you don't need to stay like a sculpture waiting them to be dry. And the gel polishes looks regular and shiny even without top coat. With regular polishes I have never had enough control of the polish itself, and the results were not so good. And then, of course, there is a matter of lasting: regular polishes last lot lees, and for my work I have to wear gloves all the time, so they don't last even a day :(. So, the clutter was easy for me: all to the trash, lol.
I know this video & comment are both SO old, but you should actually keep your nail polishes! (I'm also on the polygel & gel polish train now as well 😂🙌🏼🤙🏼🥰) I just started doing them a few months ago & was in LOVE the first time I did my first set. BUT, you can ACTUALLY do some prettyyy cool stuff with regular polishes... so, you can actually add (I guess it would be mix lol) a few drops into any clear polygel (I mean.. u can also do this with gel polishes obv but I just figured it was a useful tip since nail polishes are SOOO FRIGGEN EXPENSIVE (smh) & EVERYONE seems to be now doing their own nails & mainly using gel polish whether they do acrylics, polygels, etc..), BUT yeah, so before you toss em, if you just add (mix) some of those old, regular nail polishes we all spent SO much on (unless it'sjust me LOL), or even a few diff colors/glitters, etc..whatever you want really, to ANY clear polygel, you can actually create your own custom color/colors of polygel (how cool?!), still have ALL the benefits of a polygel manicure, have a color LITERALLY NO ONE ELSE will EVER have lol & most importantly, put ALLLL those regular polishes to a really cool & fun use without LITERALLY just pretty much throwing HUNDREDS of dollars in the garbage (i mean bc if you're anything like me I am OBSESSED with MANY things including but not limited to 😂, colored contacts, hair, makeup, dupes, now doing my own nails, jewelry lol, PLUSSSS it does NOT help that I'm A LEGIT HOARDER of most said items, like no really, I have A SERIOUS PROBLEM... I legit have eyeshadows from at LEAST 7 yrs ago LMAO😳🤣😂😩 (but hey, they still perform so why WOULD I throw them out?!) but yeah nail polishes were always a BIGGG one for me. I just found this SUPER interesting when I heard it so I figured I'd share!😁💗🥰💜

I did this same thing earlier this spring. I saved some of my favorites for pedicures (I don't gel my toes), tossed all the dead polishes that couldn't be revived and sold the rest as one single lot on facebook marketplace. It's horrifying to think just how much money I spent on all of it though. On a side note, I did keep a lot of my glitters b/c sometimes I'll layer those over a gel manicure, let it dry completely and then sandwich it under a couple layers of gel topcoat. PS. you and I have the same taste for OPI shades, I'm reminiscing about all the old standards I used to love.

Yes!! Sally Hansen chrome polish! I have that same color. Although I still like it, and it hasn’t gotten thick after all this time, it shows every imperfection and texture on my nail. Still wore it all summer though!

Omg I just decluttered my spare bedroom today, that I want to turn into my nail studio at some point. I had a green tot and I mean like those Rubbermaid storage totes full of regular nail polish and some nail art stuff. I had my 9 year old sister in law and my 12 year old niece pick as many of them as they wanted and my tote is just about empty! I still have a ton of nail supplies but most of it is now dip powder and gel and some acrylic. I’m so happy I am almost finished cleaning it all out!

meant to comment on the last video then totally forgot, I love your nail videos and if you are still testing out nail drills, I use the Makartt Nail Drill (off of amazon). I have used it for over a year now and I love it. There is no wobbling and it was a great steady speed up. Totally worth it.
Care to Dance is my fav OPI color. I thought i had a lot of polish! 🤦🏻♀️ i recently moved to a diff state, so i mercilessly purged polishes. Feels satisfying in the moment, but later i was looking for a color and oh, well... lol its good to purge once in a while.

You could make those polishes into gels with Hydrocol. Of course you would need a lot. I've also seen videos where the regular polish is covered with gel topcoat.

For your Kiara sky or generally all dip bases I’d recommend you store them standing up because the lid could glue shut! Speaking from experience! After storing them up I haven’t had a problem with them ❤️❤️

i have seen ALL of your nail videos, i love when you do them!! i was watching kiara sky and saw them do a dip powder ombre look by applying a gel top coat, flash cure for 10 sec and then bounce the finger in some other dip powder for an ombre look. PLEASE make a video on that!!

You probably already know this, but you can use your regular polishes with gel topcoats and still get the gel polish finish and wear. You just can't make your regular polish too thick and you have to make sure it is absolutely 100% without a doubt completely dry before you put the gel topcoat on. If it's even remotely still wet it will wrinkle

If you ever go back to regular polish try Orlys neon polishes. They stay on soooo much better than China Glaze and they’re also cruelty free 😊

Watching this while I'm doing my own declutter. "I'm sure this is ancient, I'm gonna toss it..." as I look at my current mani which is my oldest polish that I bought when I got out of college in the early 1990s, a perfect 90s brick red from OPI, discontinued in 1996. I'll never part with it! ;)

You can buy Hydracol on Amazon and make all your normal nail polish into gel polish ;) I had a large nail polish collection too and rejoiced when I tried it out and it works perfectly.

I am honestly horrible late to this party but, I do hope that you can absolutely use your normal favorite regular nail polishes in between the Gelpolish layers.. as long as you let it dry well and when you top coat it with your gelpolish you leave a tiny edge free around -and i mean a complete circle around it entirely- the normal nail polish so it is encapsulated by the base gelpolish and top coat gelpolish ..
I hope that you knew that before you threw away all your favourite older nail polishes?
Because you have a good amount and beautiful colours of polishes!
